hello, i'm samantha simmonds. we're going to bring you more now on those industrial action developments in the nursing, teaching and rail sectors. as we've been reporting, the government has won a legal battle against the royal college of nursing that will force their strike to end early. this comes as teachers in england are staging a fifth day of strikes in their long—running dispute over pay. those teachers strikes are causing significant disruption for children and parents in england. members of the national education union want above—inflation increases, plus extra money to ensure any pay rises do not come from schools' existing budgets. siobhan wallek, a teacher at saint albert the great catholic primary school in hertfordshire, explained why teachers like her are striking. a lot of the reason is, it's down to lack of funding. we don't have the resources to be able to provide the

best education for our children. a lot of schools are struggling to buy glue sticks. we have got lots of children with additional needs in our classroom and we are just not able to provide the support that they need to —— thrive in our classrooms. a lot of it is because of workload. i know teachers work 60 hours plus per week, and it'sjust, it is not maintainable. if things don't mean —— change, the impact on the children will be far greater than missing a day of school because schools cannot continue to run with the finding that they are receiving at the moment. wejust the finding that they are receiving at the moment. we just don't have the resources to be able to provide a better education for our children. teachers are leaving the profession at an alarming rate. this will lead to larger class sizes so children
