individual clubs or sporting bodies to set the rules and protocols. the difference here is this is national guidance, separate the government for across the uk. if someone has a head injury that should be immediately removed from playing, which may sound like common sense, but often in sport that attitude process of applying the magic sponge, get back on the pitch. they say that should never happen. that person should rest for at least 2a hours, there should be no alcohol taken in that time, you shouldn't drive a car. you should avoid using smartphones in that time because there is evidence that screen time can delay recovery. crucially, one important part of the guidance is that person should not return to full competitive sport for at least three weeks. there should be a staggered return to exercise but no return to competition. the staggered return to exercise but no return to competition.— return to competition. the authors who sana return to competition. the authors who sang a — return to competition. the authors who sang a culture _ return to competition. the authors who sang a culture change - return to competition. the authors who sang a culture change is - return to competition. the authors l who sang a culture change is needed

around concussion. is this something that will happen immediately? i think this has been a process that has been going on for many years in different sports and it depends on which club and which sport you represent. i was talking to one campaigner about this a couple of days ago and he was given the example of when his child played recently a football match in england and there was a clash of heads and the child had to go off. the referee said, if he is ok in five minutes he can come back on. the family and spectators were saying, no, that should not happen. in fact, the other player, the centre forward involved in the clash, should also come off. the spectators from the other team are accusing them of cheating as a result. it shows you that even though clubs may have protocols in place, even though there may be guidance on regulations, a lot of it does seem to come down to culture change.
