would be eligible to be evacuated. but what started to emerge over the last couple of days is that people like him would being allowed on the flight and he told me yesterday that he got to the airport and he was not only told that he wasn't eligible for the flight despite working for the nhs but actually he was escorted out by soldiers. we spoke to him and highlighted his story and it's not just him. at least 24 people in this position. we can't say exactly what the causal link is but within a few hours this morning of our study being published he went back and was swiftly allowed through. we don't know exactly what the cause was but he thinks the publicity of this has led to a change and he says in his networks of sudanese doctors he has seen more and more people who are being allowed onto the slides so they are optimistic this has had an impact. he told me this was

authorities to put these flights on. in this conflict it's been very difficult to get accurate information to the exact numbers of people are stuck we don't have a handle on that but the british authorities say there are many more people still there and they will continue to try and get them out. the pope has began a three—day official visit to hungary, seen as one of the most more politically sensitive trips of his career. pope francis met with hungary's prime minister victor orban and in his first major speech pope francis warned of the dangers of nationalism and called for a more welcoming attitude towards refugees. let's take you live now to the scene in budapest and you can see what's happening now. the pope is meeting

we have the bank holiday weekend just around the corner, the weather is changing somewhat. it's probably going to be warmerfor many is changing somewhat. it's probably going to be warmer for many parts of the country. they will be some sunshine but we have the chance of some heavy showers as well. it feels warmer today. the cloud breaking up and thinning to allow temperatures in the south—east to reach 18 may be 19 degrees. one or two showers around particularly across northern ireland. they will fade away during this evening. many pass will be dry overnight. thickening cloud could bring some wet weather towards parts of scotland. temperatures similar to last night. heading into tomorrow, for much of scotland it could be quite cloudy and in the north of

eglin. other parts of the uk should see some brighter weather and some sunshine. that might trigger a few more showers and some of them could be heavy. but through much of the midlands and towards east anglia it may well be dry and this is where we will see the warmest of the weather. we could reach 20 degrees the first time in england on saturday. it's quite a lot colder under the cloud in scotland and the north—east of england. cold air is never too far away from northern scotland. for much of the country we have a milder air coming in. just bring the chance of some more showers. perhaps once again east anglia in the south—east of england living a charmed life and staying dry. it still could make 16 with those heavy showers. quite a few more showers around on sunday and they will drift their way eastwards overnight. on bank holiday

monday this high—pressure tries to build in from the west. it's a slow process so we still have some showers in the bulk of those likely to be across east anglia. so we are getting the showers here eventually. the odd shower possible elsewhere but for the most part it will be drier. a northerly breeze in scotland bring the sunshine temperatures typically 16 or 17 degrees. over the bank all day weekend we have some warm weather and there will be some heavy showers. the trial on monday and into next week it is drier but also the cooler.
