glamour of the the glitz and glamour of the high—profile us ports, you have to buy into it. the most recent one went for $6 million —— $6 billion. they have lots of money but they aren't in the sort of market, so there's usually high—stakes. there's usually high—sta kes. instead, there's usually high—stakes. instead, they want a version of the american dream but not in america, using english and welsh football. so what they are able to do is they might go to a lower league team like wrexham or chilling them, there are others among the bottom few tears, tagging, portsmouth, ipswich, layton owner dutch layton orient all have american owners. what they can do is make that bigger and take them all the way to the top. you can't do that in american sports, so it's fascinating to see more and more of them with either football experience

or business experience, and now hollywood star dust, as well, thinking that what english and welsh football, the english football pyramid gives them that they can't get in their own country, and rob mcelhenney is famously a fan of the philadelphia eagles, he wouldn't be able to do it with his own team in the nfl. they are able to go on a journey with a sports team here in the uk that's essentially impossible to create where they live. so there's an emotional investment that they make that is frankly difficult to replicate. they make that is frankly difficult to replicate-— to replicate. very shortly we will be “oininu to replicate. very shortly we will be joining our— to replicate. very shortly we will be joining our colleagues - to replicate. very shortly we will be joining our colleagues at - to replicate. very shortly we will. be joining our colleagues at wales today, as they are on the ground. as you can see that bus going through, i've just seen you can see that bus going through, i'vejust seen a you can see that bus going through, i've just seen a quote from the wrexham club president, the wrexham player turned manager, no president, he said the parade will be mayhem, it'll be quite noisy to say the least, and with the weather being fine, they and the fans will all be out watching the buses go by. it's

brilliant for everyone in the town, he says, "to me, i'm delighted and pleased for the young children coming through," which is a lovely quote. so we will now keep watching these pictures of the bus that is heading through wrexham, and will be joining my wales today colleague nick savini, who is in wrexham, and he'll take us through the next little bit of the bus parade as it heads through the city of wrexham. there good evening, what a way to end a football season, on a lovely night here in wrexham, there is an open top bus parade herein wrexham, there is an open top bus parade underway— here in wrexham, there is an open top bus parade underway— onboard are the players and the hollywood

owners, ryan reynolds and rob mcelhenney. they are of course celebrating the tangible results of the investment from hollywood, which has come via promotion to the football league for wrexham after a gap of 15 years, made more sweet by the fact that they came so close this time last year. and you get a strong sense that people here in wrexham are just trying to squeeze as much enjoyment out of this promotion as they possibly can. it is of course an almighty celebration of this football club and what it has achieved, but it is also a celebration of wrexham and all the people in it. i'm outside of the resource ground, there a fantastic atmosphere, the champs havejust resource ground, there a fantastic atmosphere, the champs have just got under way, and the open top bus parade of a number of buses has started at about 6:30pm, sticking its way across the racecourse ground

you've got people 5—6 deep and the odd flayer covering this guy, it looks like a football trophy parade, wrexham will be in there for the first time after a 15 year absence when the season begins again next time around, and they will no doubt hope and maybe even expect that there will be potentially even more trophy parades as things get better and betterfor them over trophy parades as things get better and better for them over the trophy parades as things get better and betterfor them over the coming years. wrexham's most famous day up until this point, it must be said if you are old enough, would have been in the third round of the fa cup in 1992 when the team that had finished bottom of the league, they are just about tojoin in, 92nd place blade arsenal, the reigning champions— they finished first and it was wrexham who won that day in 1992, 2-1, wrexham who won that day in 1992, 2—1, many remembering the famous free kick scored by mickey thomas as

very rich people from north america, but also the goodwill that they have brought from beyond north america. we've heard stories of people turning up and well—wishers from new zealand, from the united states and canada as well, so many people know the name wrexham, and now as we see these pictures of the buses going through past the turf and down into the town centre, you'll see that there is potential for investment in a place like wrexham, and it's coming from tourism, from the increased spotlight upon it, not just because of the football club but the story that so many people are buying into, not least because they are able to do so via streaming platforms, but because there is something essential. wejust heard from rob and ryan there about the emotional instincts that come from football fans, seeing your favourite football fans, seeing your favourite football club that you are often born into and you celebrate and commiserate with your entire life, those instincts are there, and now

everything that paul mullen and co. were at the front in the first bus, they were the ones that fans were looking up to, they're the ones taking the acclaim. notice the groundsman on the third a bus, they absolutely loving it. just such a big day for wrexham. this is 15 years in the making, this is a club that has pedigree, but this is a club that had brushes with oblivion. and these supporters in the streets, many of them but their family finances on the line to keep the club going, and that's why there's such an outpouring of emotion today. i love the fact that you know everyone, including the groundsman here at the racecourse, you're able to name check him on one of the buses. just to breathe it all in, really extraordinary scenes, isn't

a bit longer to wait for the buses, but after 15 years, it won't make much difference. what struck me today was many youngsters, teenagers here who were born after wrexham was last in the league, and we've got generations going back who are all absolutely in love with the football and have seen wrexham through good times and bad, there's been a lot of darkness in the past, but things tend to be looking up now. we've heard a lot from ryan and rob they're talking notjust about heard a lot from ryan and rob they're talking not just about the football, but the community and how they've taken them into their hearts. you can get a sense from the amount of people who have been waiting patiently here for a glimpse of them, that the feeling is certainly mutual. there is an electric atmosphere here, i don't think i've ever seen anything like it here, but it's certainly worth basking in the enjoyment because these times don't come around often. thank you, matt, let's have a final
