there are also coffee toilet roll! there are also coffee shops nearby. you have to be like a scout or like you are in the army. you have to be prepared for every eventuality. i would be terrible, i turn up with a chair and no umbrella. these people are serious, they have clothing for every occasion and ubiquitous union flag poncho, stuffed corgis. they have everything. they have packed enough for a two—week holiday for a few nights down here. amazing and you know what? they are going to be rewarded with the best view in town, so good on them. thank you very much, charlotte gallagher bear who has been talking to those people in the crowds and along the mall. the fact is, if you want a good view of what is going on in terms of the king's procession, the procession from buckingham palace to where i am now, westminster abbey, what you need to do is wait for 6am
2:01 pm
on saturday morning because that is when they are opening a loss of the public viewing areas, you can go there and find a spot, i'm not saying it is going to be easy, but you can find a decent spot to watch the procession at some point between the procession at some point between the mall at whitehall, parliament square over to my right and of course down here to westminster abbey. but now i want to travel a bit further north—west and two ben boulos, who is in soho and i think we have you, are you there? i am, es. we have you, are you there? i am, yes- you — we have you, are you there? i am, yes- you pick _ we have you, are you there? i am, yes. you pick the _ we have you, are you there? i am, yes. you pick the moment - we have you, are you there? i am, yes. you pick the moment when i we have you, are you there? i am, yes. you pick the moment when a | we have you, are you there? i am, i yes. you pick the moment when a car wasjust coming down yes. you pick the moment when a car was just coming down the road. yes. you pick the moment when a car wasjust coming down the road. {iii wasjust coming down the road. of course,... don't get run over, ben! that is not good tv!— that is not good tv! unfortunately they couldn't _ that is not good tv! unfortunately they couldn't close _ that is not good tv! unfortunately they couldn't close the _ that is not good tv! unfortunately they couldn't close the road - that is not good tv! unfortunately they couldn't close the road for. that is not good tv! unfortunately they couldn't close the road for us| they couldn't close the road for us for the rest of the afternoon, but the reason i am walking down the middle of this road is because this is where, just about an hour ago, the prince and princess of wales were walking down, they walked down, were walking down, they walked down, we saw them turn the corner out there from soho square, they walked all the way down the street, a good

couple of hundred yards, and as we understand they travel to jan here in not their usual means of transport, the cars at the motorcade, it was by train, as we were discussing earlier, on the brand—new elizabeth line, named after prince william's grandmother, the late queen elizabeth. couldn't help but speculate as to whether they refer to it as the granny line. i think we still have to refer to it as the elizabeth line, but enough of that. they walked all the way down the street and went in there into this pub. look at how gleaming and shiny the sign and the brass light covers are. i doubt his death it has never looked so spotless. i bet they have been preparing everything there to make sure everything was fit for prince and princess. all along the street there are crowds gathered, some of them waiting, as you can see, for at least an hour or more. they found out this visit was happening, keen to catch a glimpse of catherine and william. some people i was speaking to an earlier

had no idea it was happening. they were in town to see a matinee show in the theatre, they got word, they saw the barricades, they said, what is going on? when they were told that the prince and princess of wales were going to do an impromptu walkabout and meet and greet and point into the pub, they decided they are not going to bother with they are not going to bother with the theatre, they will miss the show and they got a bit of a chat and a photo with william and with katherine. they spent a good 20 minutes or even half an hour walking down the street and taking time to chat to people, photos, selfies with people and, as they tend to do, each taking one side of the street so everyone managed to get a bit of a glimpse and chat with either william or katherine. a lot of people here who also did the same over from the united states we havejennifer and katie here. have i got that right? so just tell me, what made you turn

debate in my ear between myself and the gallery and read it was bond street at tottenham court road and i was erroneously given misinformation that it was bond street, but i knew better, it was tottenham court road because that is the closest station to soho. i know, having travelled there many times in my life. but here we are arriving at tottenham court road station and it is pretty incredible to see such senior members of the royal family on the underground. 0f members of the royal family on the underground. of course, it is not your average london underground journey. you know, normally the carriages are absolutely chock full of people, but security was very tight and i'm sure that all the other people you see there are probably security people. so that is at tottenham court road they came off at. and then they left the underground and they walked out, upstairs, along the road, down to the pub where earlier or new saw my colleague, ben boulos. a little bit

earlier, we spoke to andrew laud. he is the commissioner of transport for london. he says that london commuters were pretty surprised when the prince and princess of wales hopped onto the elizabeth line. he says it, i know, but unfortunately we cannot show you him saying it, but he says they were surprised. we will try to bring that to you as and when we can, but this is the prince and princess travelling up the escalators, they are quite long ones, actually, at tottenham court road. it is a new station, they finished building it quite recently. it is just on the corner down the road from the bbc*s central offices in new broadcasting house. now, i want to bring you a bit more detail about what you are seeing around me now. this is westminster abbey, it is the heart of london and it is going to be the focal point for the

ceremony on saturday. just to bring you up—to—date a bit with timings because i was told earlier that one of the most searched questions, the most asked questions online is, what time does everything begin? i can tell you that at 6am on saturday you are going to be able to, if you are so inclined, if you want to make the journey to central london, you're going to be able to get access to some of the public viewing areas on that from buckingham palace through the mull, whitehall, parliament square and ending up here at westminister abbey. the view you can see on the other side of the screen. at 10:20am, see on the other side of the screen. at10:20am, the king's procession, that is, the king and the queen consort, will travel

later, left in his royal limousine and i think we have pictures which were filmed by one of the producers, sofia and this was filmed on her telephone, as you can see there, a bit before these pictures were taken, the police on their motorbikes stopped all the traffic around, people were wondering, what is going on? and then we suddenly saw this limousine with a royal insignia on its roof coming out and you can see their king charles in the window, the window slightly open, people start cheering and waving at him and trying to say hello. the ceremony is going to be an important one because of course, it is not only steeped in history, it is not only steeped in history, it is not only steeped in history, it is also steeped in religion. it is taking place at westminster abbey, the abbey where ceremony to crown previous kings and queens have been going on since william the conqueror in 1066. the british element is very important, but it is notjust element is very important, but it is not just the focus for king charles.

he is of course officially known as the defender of the face, but he has said in the past that he wants to be known as defender of the faiths, parole, to reflect a multicultural, multi—faith uk. i'm very pleased to say now that i am joined by marie, president of the board of deputies of british jews president of the board of deputies of britishjews stop it is so good to have you on the programme, marie, and just tell me about how important religion is to king charles, and not only the church of england, obviously of which he is the head, but also of all religions and how he wants to reflect all religions in the way that he reigns?- wants to reflect all religions in the way that he reigns? thank you so much, it is wonderful _ the way that he reigns? thank you so much, it is wonderful to _ the way that he reigns? thank you so much, it is wonderful to be _ the way that he reigns? thank you so much, it is wonderfulto be here - the way that he reigns? thank you so much, it is wonderfulto be here and| much, it is wonderful to be here and part of all this. the king, after the very sad passing of his mother, within a few days, asked a number of faith leaders, including myself, to buckingham palace. it was a real privilege and he made it clear there

been happening here in the run—up to the big event on saturday. as you can i am here and behind me is westminster abbey, you can see our lovely cameraman has a static shot of the abbey as well on the other side of your screen. a lot of excitement here earlier on when king charles turned up for what we believe was a short rehearsal. he then drove back away again, but a lot of exciting things have happened here in central london, happened a little way to the north—west where i am standing in soho, which of course is one of the biggest central spots in london for nightlife, pubs, bars all over and there you see prince william and katherine, the prince and princess of wales, made an impromptu visit to a soho pub. yes, they came to the the dog and duck, or is it the duck and dog? i don't know which way round was. the dog and duck, they went there for a

visit and the reason they went there was to get a flavour, a taste of the way in which the pub and pubs across the country are going to be celebrating the occasion on saturday. they met the manager of the pub, as well as other employees. they also then afterwards met members of the public outside the venue on bateman street in soho. now, in a minute or two, venue on bateman street in soho. now, in a minute ortwo, we venue on bateman street in soho. now, in a minute or two, we are going to see pictures from inside the pub because when the took these pictures live, the nature of live tv is we couldn't see exactly what was happening inside, but we could see that prince william was inside and that prince william was inside and that measurement there, i think, that measurement there, i think, that he was doing with his hands is telling us exactly how long his pint is going to be. we heard earlier on that he pulled a pint of kingmaker, ben boulos, our reporter live on the scene entered the pub a little bit afterwards and we were told that he pulled a pint of kingmaker and we were told he pulled extremely well and we know that pulling a parent is
