we heard some of the lunch. we heard some of the rehearsals from the concert taking place already and the princess and prince of wales are out meeting some of the people here. we will bring you those pictures as soon as we can get them to you. we have a royal historian and you were talking about how the palace would want these. i don't know how much you know about the organising of the palace, the palace would have known this would happen because you would have security issues. you happen because you would have security issues.— happen because you would have security issues. you have to decide where they — security issues. you have to decide where they will _ security issues. you have to decide where they will have _ security issues. you have to decide where they will have the _ security issues. you have to decide where they will have the impacts. l where they will have the impacts. the decision will be made. what is the process for making sure the cameras are in place to film it. how aood is cameras are in place to film it. how good is the — cameras are in place to film it. how good is the organisation? there were rumours that there would be a walkabout today but nothing was fern up. the rumours are enough to know something is happening. meeting the

earlier, in a way it is about the relevance of monarchy. this looks like a walkabout that it is our contribution to notjust the popularity of monarchy, that sounds like a transactional thing, it is how does monarchy stay relevant? how does an ancient system stay relevant in the modern world? apart of it is by having a relationship with the people who you are raining over. absolutely. we have had centuries of this. so many of her appearances look stage—managed. there people recording it loved it. when she entered the city of london for the first time, she waved to the crowds if they said god save your majesty, she would say, god save youtube. outside the town of london, she spoke about being a lion cub or being a lioness. the lions in the

tower then roared and it is stage managed and someone was doing something to make the lions roar. it is that kind of theatre that goes with monarchy and we have centuries of it. if not many people see it happen, it is as good is not happening at all. we happen, it is as good is not happening at all.— happen, it is as good is not happening at all. we have been caettin happening at all. we have been getting these — happening at all. we have been getting these pictures. - happening at all. we have been getting these pictures. i- happening at all. we have been getting these pictures. i am - getting these pictures. i am watching this on the iphone of my producer and getting it on a delay. i am not seeing it in real time what the audience are seeing, but we were getting pictures of william and kate. talk about their ability to do that. one second, we are going to hand back to the studio. she has a much better view of the pictures than i have. as you heard, this is images you are seeing of princess
2:09 pm
catherine and prince william doing a walkabout. at the moment it looks like princess catherine is in conversation with one of the many people who have turned out. as you can see, huge crowds. and it is often the case in royal events like this, or many of them similar, many people viewing the images through the lens of their phone. loads of phones being held up to capture the moment. people would have been queueing up for quite a time. of course, the difference in the weather is pretty extreme. if you remember the downpours of yesterday, and yet people were turning out in huge numbers to capture a glimpse along the route of the coronation. today, very different picture. lots of rat sunshine and with that huge crowds turning out here at windsor. for the walkabouts. this is the long
2:10 pm
walk in windsor, where prince and princess of wales, william and catherine, are walking about. an area has been set up on the route there for people to turn out for the big lunch event. this is an event to bring people together across the country who will be joining in with this idea, whenever they are. this is something people in windsor are doing as well, so it is the route near windsor castle that has been set up for people with picnic blankets, ready to be involved in the big lunch event. of course, at the big lunch event. of course, at the moment as you can see, not many people stopping for picnics when you have the prince and princess of wales turning up to shake hands and to see them they are. it was actually something that people weren't necessarily aware of before.
2:11 pm
so it is just a weren't necessarily aware of before. so it isjust a nice weren't necessarily aware of before. so it is just a nice surprise for people who have been lining up there, to see william and kate. you can see the back of her they are. people are tiring over with phones being held. we don't know how long the will be hovering around, how long this walkabout is scheduled for. but as you can see by the number of people wanting to stop and take pictures and say hello, it may well be that they will end up being held there for a while by fans who were cheering them on and really happy to see them. and, of course, they are not the only royal is doing a walkabout today. there are others elsewhere in the country, but this one here, as you can see, william and kate doing a walkabout. and just to tell you a little bit more about
2:12 pm
the reason that a lot of people where they are. we have a concert, the coronation concert, planned later this evening. it won't be long before people start turning up for that. many of those people may have turned up for that already, even though the concept is not until much later tonight. that is happening there and you may have heard about there and you may have heard about the number of big named stars that you are probably well recognised and be familiar with who are due to be performing. this is the big lunch at downing street. if you have a look, you can just about see the prime minister, rishi sunak*s head, popping up their nearest the number ten door. you can see him between other heads. this is one of the big lunches that i was talking to you about earlier, which is part of the street parties that are taking place. of course, street parties being quite a quintessential part of
2:13 pm
any royal weekend of celebrations. and the big lunch specifically being about encouraging neighbours and communities to get together, to share food, bringing people together, over this event. and that is happening, that was happening in downing street as we saw earlier and it is something that is taking place here in windsor and in places across the country. but anyone who was at windsor to take part in the big lunch had the added bonus, a surprise walkabout by the prince and princess of wales. there is catherine crouching down to speak to some children. and prince william as well. we saw a little while earlier, there he is, you can see the back of his head. we can see... the turnout is incredible as it often is. for

2:15 pm
we were just listening we werejust listening in we were just listening in to prince william, having quite an engaging conversation with somebody. i couldn't quite make out what you were saying that i think someone was talking about the big lunch and talking about the big lunch and talking about the big lunch and talking about having eaten quite a bit of food. it was nice to hear the cheers from the crowd as they walked past. the crowds there, some of them are attending for their big lunch thatis are attending for their big lunch that is taking place in windsor. and elsewhere in the country as well, as part of the coronation celebrations, happening over this weekend. the big lunch being the focus of today. but many people will be there for the
2:16 pm
coronation concert as well that is half the at windsor castle. that is taking place this evening. there are already going to be people turning out for that, not surprising, given the lovely weather and the fact that the lovely weather and the fact that the doors open within an hour. there will be people turning up for that who have also come across this probably unexpected surprise of the royal walkabout. just as you may well know, the coronation concert later features big well know, the coronation concert laterfeatures big named stars well know, the coronation concert later features big named stars from around the world, featuring katy perry. if you saw the coronation coverage yesterday, you may have seen lots of people noticing katy perry fain —— struggling to find her seatin perry fain —— struggling to find her seat in the coronation. she will be one of the stars performing later and lionel richie and take that. a
2:17 pm
huge list of stars performing their later, and as you can see, many of the people will be waiting to attend the people will be waiting to attend the concert if they have got tickets. 20,000 members of the public are due to attend at. many others are there as part of big lunch. and as i said, it is notjust william and kate, the prince and princess of wales, who are doing a royal walkabout today. it is also the duke and duchess of edinburgh, sophie and edward, they will be attending a coronation big lunch. princess anne and her husband will bejoining a street princess anne and her husband will be joining a street party in swindon. the duke of york's daughters will be attending one of the big lunches in buckinghamshire. if you are watching as earlier, one,
2:18 pm
another key big lunch is the one happening in downing street where the prime minister and his wife are hosting. there are many people there including the first lady and ukrainian families and youth groups. but this one here, with a huge turnout, as you can imagine, is the walkabout by prince william. the picture is breaking up slightly. those are live images. there we go, it has come back. this is the walkabout in windsor by the prince and princess of wales. i don't know if you could just see it, princess catherine crouching down, posing for photographs. and selfies, of course. and as i say, this is one of the
2:19 pm
many big lunch events that are happening across the country, around 50,000 are expected to be happening, notjust in the uk but across the world. there are some happening in france and in other places around the world. some 50,000 are expected to be taking place, including this one here in windsor. the idea of the big lunch is to encourage a sense of community and bring neighbourhoods together, and to give communities an excuse to get together as part of the royal weekend. it is something we have seen on previous royal occasions as well, and this
2:20 pm
2:21 pm
2:22 pm
doing a walkabout. this is all part about —— a part of the big lunch which is a more relaxed part of the weekend of coronation events. today is all about the big lunch. thousands of street parties and lunches are taking place. i don't know if you're watching earlier, you would have listened into some of the reaction from the crowds, including members of the crowd shouting on kate asking her to turn around. there you go, you can hear them again. she is crouching down to speak to one of the children they are. this big lunch is an equation that the king and queen, i don't know if you follow them on instagram, but on the family's official instagram account, he said they hoped this would be a truly enjoyable event for everybody. it is about everybody in the community and
2:23 pm
neighbourhood, wherever they happen to bejoining in. it looks like... caters comforting a child who seems to be overwhelmed. i am sure she was not in tears when she was crouching down. i suppose the excitement of meeting the princess of wales is a little bit too much. there is catherine having a long chat with her. consoling her when she was overcome with emotion. and this is, this event here, the coronation lunch, one of tens of thousands happening everywhere. as you can see, lunch probably is not the focus at the moment for all the crowds who have turned up to see the royal walkabout. this is not something they would have necessarily expected, this was not something that was necessarily they were aware that was necessarily they were aware that were scheduled. it is one of
2:24 pm
those surprise royal visits but a lot of people there would have been there for the big lunch or if they were ticket further coronation concert. that is prince william talking to some children who seemed very excited to see him. there is kate again, speaking to a couple of children. let's see if we can hear what they are saying. pare children. let's see if we can hear what they are saying.— children. let's see if we can hear what they are saying. are you better now? good- — what they are saying. are you better now? good- i _ what they are saying. are you better now? good. i am _ what they are saying. are you better now? good. i am loving _ what they are saying. are you better now? good. i am loving the - what they are saying. are you better now? good. i am loving the way - what they are saying. are you better now? good. i am loving the way you j now? good. i am loving the way you are handling — now? good. i am loving the way you are handling the _ now? good. i am loving the way you are handling the attention _ are handling the attention worldwide. _ are handling the attention worldwide.— are handling the attention worldwide. ., , ., are handling the attention worldwide. ., . worldwide. those images are so nice we wanted to — worldwide. those images are so nice we wanted to bring _ worldwide. those images are so nice we wanted to bring them _ worldwide. those images are so nice we wanted to bring them to - worldwide. those images are so nice we wanted to bring them to you - we wanted to bring them to you twice. ., ., ., 4' we wanted to bring them to you twice. ., ., , ,., , twice. you looked absolutely

2:26 pm
working her way around the crowd trying to shake hands and greet as many people as possible. there we 90, many people as possible. there we go, we have princess catherine talking to the children. it is always interesting to see the reaction of the people surrounding whoever she is speaking to. you just see their beaming faces and them holding their phones up, all keen to take a picture of her. let's listen into what she is saying... and a little high five and a wave to the children.
2:27 pm
and it is a good moment to mention the event that we are looking ahead to. this is all part of the big lunch but a lot of the people here will notjust be here for that. we are looking ahead to the coronation concert, that is what many people here will be in windsor for. that event takes place in windsor castle later today and if few hours' time. but doors are open. people with tickets will be turning up. around 20,000 members of the public are attending that. no doubt, some of them are here, taking the opportunity to see princess catherine. and on that subject, in terms of the guests, i mention

big lunch is being hosted at downing street with rishi sunak all smiles as he is posing with some of the guests. earlier, the raf northolt brass quintet was playing there, adding to the atmosphere as well as all the bunting. so that is one of the many big lunches, as i mentioned. let's have a listen in. chatter you can hear the buzz and the atmosphere there with the number of guests who are at that. we listened to some of the buzz from the coronation lunch at downing street

where the prime minister and his wife are hosting community groups, and of coursejill biden who is there, and it is one of the many tens of thousands actually of coronation lunches that are expected to be taking place today. earlier we saw one at windsor and of course that was added to by the bonus surprise visit of the prince and princess of wales, who came along and did an unexpected royal walkabout there and greeted fans. here, it was a little bit more scheduled. it is something that is expected, so rishi sunak there speaking to a lot of the much younger guests being hosted by him there. and we have also got... i mentioned the walkabout by prince and princess william and kate, and the other royals are also doing

walkabouts as well, including the princess royal, princess and, who was there in swindon doing walkabout. swindon in wiltshire. she was attending a street party and mingling with people holding a big lunch to celebrate the coronation. she was chatting to residents there i'm speaking to members of the public as part of her royal walkabout there as well. and we might not be able to see it in the image, there was her husband as well in attendance, vice admiral sir tim lawrence, alsojoining princess anne as part of the street party happening in swindon as you can see. this is something that is happening across the country. we saw the one in downing street and earlier another one in windsor, but they are

prime minister, rishi sunak, and his wife, akshata murthy, are hosting a big lunch. that is part of several thousands of big launch is expected to be taking place across the country and around the world —— big lunches. a big part of the coronation weekend, the king and queen wanted to see neighbours and communities across the uk to get together and share food and fun, and it's notjust together and share food and fun, and it's not just across together and share food and fun, and it's notjust across the uk. we were hearing of big lunches happening in france as well, and the idea was to encourage a sense of togetherness as part of the coronation weekend. that is ahead of the focus tomorrow, which is a big help out, and that is where members of the public will be invited to take place in volunteering and raising awareness of volunteering, whether they are

regular volunteers already or whether this is something they are new to. the idea is to bring people together with a focus on doing voluntary work in volunteering their time to help the community. so that is the focus tomorrow, and thousands of organisations across the country are encouraging the public to get involved and make a difference and use whatever opportunities they can find to get involved with the big help out. that is tomorrow, but today the focus on this part of the coronation weekend is the big coronation lunch, where neighbours and communities are asked to get together and share food and fun to bring communities together. so this is one we are seeing live pictures from at downing street where the prime minister, rishi sunak, and his wife, akshata murthy, have been hosting many, many youth group
