were eight points behind arsenal. there are enough, arsenal have faltered to a certain extent, but manchester city have a run of 15 games unbeaten, including 12 wins as well. they have spent smart, spend big. players like erling haaland, his first season in the premier league. no one has ever scored more goals than that. kevin de bruyne is “p goals than that. kevin de bruyne is up there with the league pass leading assist. and the club captain. players like jack grealish, kyle walker, phil foden. they have a deep squad. but speaking with manchester city fans, not that they will consider this season not a success if they don't do the trouble, but the premier league title, the one they are used to winning. the devil will be amazing. but i think the cherry on top will be if this club can win the treble. istanbul, june ten is the big date. manchester city have spent big, they

have spent wisely and the challenge for them will be how does pep guardiola motivate his team to go on next season when other squads will be reinvesting. definitely looking to challenge manchester city and knock them off the top spot when it comes to england pass top division. we believe it there. thank you. at the other end of the table — contrasting fortunes for leeds, who will have to win on the final day of the season if they're to avoid relegation from the premier league and even then it could be too late. it's after they lost 3—1 at west ham as patrick geary reports. leeds united have not had along to be remoulded in their manager's image. sam allardyce was given four games to save them. here in the third, some proof of his impact. simple yet sometimes stunning.
7:39 pm
behind rodrigo's strike was real conviction. maybe this was a leeds good today, the kind where you find a fiver on the floor. but unfortunately for sam allardyce, his side could not keep the change. old floors reappeared. the hammers had half an eye on a european summer night, but the upcoming conference league final did not distract them. they opened up leads again and jarrod bowen steal them in front. no need for a league table, the faces told whe that left leeds. desperation and exacerbation. and then eventually, confirmation. and that mightjust finish off leeds united. to have any chance of survival, allardyce must win his last match, and even that may not be enough. patrick geary, bbc news. so sam allardyce was unable to get the points he needed at his former club, west ham. he's got one game to save leeds now and hasn't given up hope despite his frustrations.

we slipped up last week when we could have won against newcastle. and today, we haven't showed the quality that was needed when we had the opportunity to get a result today. so next week has to be much, much better than those two games to beat tottenham. and that's all we can do. all the players need to do is roll their sleeves up and play themselves in the right way, and try and beat tottenham and hope the other result has gone in our favour. we have not had a lot of good things through— we have not had a lot of good things through the whole year, but the last week has_ through the whole year, but the last week has been fantastic, to get to the final— week has been fantastic, to get to the final and that you win today the way we _ the final and that you win today the way we did — the final and that you win today the way we did in front of the home supporters and everyone buoyed by what happened in europe. so sometimes you have got to keep at it. sometimes you have got to keep at it we _ sometimes you have got to keep at it we have — sometimes you have got to keep at it. we have done. hopefully we are now it. we have done. hopefully we are nowjust _ it. we have done. hopefully we are nowjust about at the top end. so this is where leeds remain — third from bottom and two points

from safety and everton. leeds will have to beat tottenham at elland road next sunday to give them a chance of survival, but if everton beat bournemouth they'll still go down. leicester city have two games remaining, one of them at newcastle united tomorrow night. and they then have you either win that one or their final game have you either win that one or theirfinal game against have you either win that one or their final game against west ham. one of them could do it if they win both of them. and of course, everton in trouble. two of these three teams definitely relegated. one of them definitely relegated. one of them definitely gone, that is southampton. they were beaten by three goals to one as the home side secured european football for the first time of their history. incredible scenes at the end. brighton remain sixth and have all—but qualified for the europa league because of their superior goal difference over seventh—placed aston villa. roberto de zerbi only took over as manager in september. and what he has had since.

every supporter we can have some special nights next season. chelsea are on the brink of winning their fourth successive women's super league title after a 2—0 win over arsenal. it means the double is nearly in their grasp after lifting the fa cup earlier this month. jo currie was at kingsmeadow for us. the maths was simple—ish. chelsea would claim the wsl title if they beat arsenal, and then manchester united failed to win against manchester city in the late kick—off. anything else would see the title go down to the final day of the season. from the beginning, chelsea showed the intent of a team that wanted to get the job done. superbly slotted home on the half volley. then captain magdalena eriksson, who announced this week she is leaving the club at the end

of the season, scored in herfinal home appearance to put chelsea firmly in control as they headed into the break. arsenal having been caught napping and needing a big second half. they had their chances. caitlin foord flicked an effort onto the crossbar before they were awarded a penalty for handball in the box, which katie mccabe put wide. this would not be their day. emma hayes* side claiming the london derby and a big three points. so, another step closer to the title for chelsea and their manager, emma hayes. we were superb, the first half. we really were. the number of penalty area entries we had. the way we controlled the game. i think we had to score a couple of goals while we were on the top. and arsenal again showing their quality second half, but thanks to mccabe for making it less interesting. they're a wonderful team. arsenal in the second half pinned

have had four teams really compete right to the end of the season. manchester city's title hopes only ended mid week. arsenal's title hopes only ended this afternoon. that gives you an idea of how close it has been. you have to feel a bit for manchester united, who have led to the wsl for large parts of the season. they have only had two defeats, both of which have come against chelsea. if they did finished second, that would be their highest ever finish since they were created in 2018. but if they do finish second, it will hurt, the fact that they held for such long periods. manchester city did well to come back from a difficult start to the season. as for arsenal, it is well documented just help many big injuries they had two key players. you do wonder if they had more players fit this season, could they have challenged chelsea a little bit more? if it is chelsea's name on the trophy once more, you have to give them credit. to keep winning trophies is even more difficult. it looks like they have found a way to do it once more this season.
7:47 pm
there's been a thrilling end to the scottish women's premier league season. any one of glasgow city, celtic and rangers could have taken the title. to make it even more dramatic, rangers were playing glasgow at ibrox. neither side managed to break the deadlock until deep into injury time lauren davidson scored for glasgow and delirious scenes followed with the final whistle being blown soon after glasgow city are champions. it was an absolute roller—coaster today, but all credit to the players. they massively stuck to the game plan and — they massively stuck to the game plan and gave it everything they had~ _ plan and gave it everything they had~ i_ plan and gave it everything they had~ lam — plan and gave it everything they had. i am so, plan and gave it everything they had. lam so, so plan and gave it everything they had. i am so, so proud of them to -et had. i am so, so proud of them to get it— had. i am so, so proud of them to get it over— had. i am so, so proud of them to get it over the line in the last minutes— get it over the line in the last minutes there. the scenes at celtic park were in direct contrast to those across the city as the celtic players were greeted with the dramatic late news from ibrox. fran alonso's side had done everything they could to win the title, beating hearts courtesy of goals from caitlin mary hayes

since the breakaway tournament began, is the man to catch. 0ur golf correspondent ian carter has been telling me why else a koepka victory could be significant. he was done in the doldrums for a couple of years with injury, he came bouncing back as a player in the masters. at one stage, four shots clear, two shots clear going into the final round. eventually beaten tjy the final round. eventually beaten byjohn brown. a bit of a choke in terms of his intense latitude on that final day. he says that will never happen to again. he is one of those players that can be very combatant, very confident, like a boxer going into a big heavyweight bout. not trying to reveal any kind of but he weakness. has in recent years seen major championships slip through his fingers. yes, he has had spectacular success with four major wins within two years. so let's see what happens today.— wins within two years. so let's see what happens today. yeah, let's see what happens today. yeah, let's see what happens _ what happens today. yeah, let's see what happens today. _

let's get the rematch on? absolutely. a disappointing night for katie taylor, not able to deliver the victory that the home crowd had expected. for the first time in her career, she works out a beaten fighter. she leaves the arena with her held head high after another gutsy performance. so much respect for what she has done and to go in there and let it go out the window, because you cannot help but respect her. she's a nice woman, great athlete. what she has done for women's boxing is unbelievable. taylor is still the undisputed lightweight champion as those built were not on the line, but she will want to rectify the blemish on what had been a pristine record. ade adedoyne, bbc news. a reminder of our top story. manchester city have beaten chelsea by a goal to nil at the etihad stadium. it handed city the title and they got their hands on the

hello, we have a lot of fine weather to come for the uk in the week ahead. very little rain to speak of. and for many, increasing amounts of sunshine will equate to temperatures working their way out. the reason it is going to be fine, a big area of high pressure centred down here across the azores. we often refer to it as the azores high. and through the course of the week, it will extend its way eastwards across the uk, and then later on in the week it looks like if anything we will see the centre of the high eventually pushing across towards the uk. so a lot of fine weather to come. overnight, perhaps a few showers across eastern england. some strays getting pulled in on the breeze off the north sea. perhaps the odd spot of rain out of this old weather front dangling its way south into scotland. but nothing significant.

clearer skies, northern england and the midlands — light winds here. we could see lows down to just three or four degrees. pretty chilly here for the time of year. monday — the high pushing its way eastwards send those showers away from the northern coast. we see another weather front, the remnants of thereof, brushing into the high. no success getting any significant rain out of it but there will i think be thicker cloud, perhaps some drizzle across eastern scotland for a time early on on monday. by the afternoon, though, it will be looking much brighter here. any early showers from east anglia clearing away. a lot of sunshine, particularly late on in the day on monday. and our temperatures up to 22 degrees, perhaps 23 across england and wales. the high teens for southern scotland. further southern scotland. north and into northern ireland, further north and into northern ireland, perhaps 16 degrees. the chelsea fire show gets into a on monday. a great —looking week here for anyone. temperatures on the high teens. you can see those temperatures vary a bit day on day, and that will be the case for many spots in the uk. all governed by
