as champions on saturday without even kicking a ball after nottingham forest's win against arsenal. and that result allowed manager pep guardiola to make nine changes from the side that thrashed real madrid to reach the champions league final. 0ur sports correspondent nesta mcgregor has more. well, we all know when it comes to manchester city, the players and the fans know what that winning feeling is. remarkable when you consider in early april there were eight points behind arsenal. fair enough. arsenal have faltered towards the end of the season, but manchester city have gone on an amazing run 15 games unbeaten, including 12 wins. today they rested the likes of erling haaland, kevin de bruyne, jack grealish and john stones. you know, real, real quality players that have shown the depth of their squad. this trophy, though, is only the first in pep guardiola's masterplan. first week ofjune they're in the fa cup against manchester united. then a week later, the big one in istanbul, the champions league final

against inter milan, going for what will be an incredible historic treble for the club. it could be considered ironic. we are on a bridge leading to the etihad stadium and teams will already be thinking how can they bridge the gap to try and get to manchester city, the likes of arsenal who came so close, manchester united, liverpool, chelsea. next season they will want to spend the summer investing and investing wisely. manchester city are premier league champions for the eighth time in total, the third year in a row. can they do it again next year? that will be the big question. from the etihad stadium, nesta mcgregor, bbc news. man city are english champions for a ninth time in the club's history. but they had trailed arsenal by eight points in early april, although they had played one game fewer than mikel arteta's leaders at that point. well, i'll be honest. i thought to win everything that i thought would be more difficult, in part because when a team

like arsenal are playing the way they're playing at 50 points in the first leg. so. so you can do many, many things. they don't drop, i thought will be difficult in the moment it was a question of 0k keep going keep going and try to when they come here at the stadium to be close to, you know, to catch them or be so close. and this is what happened. champions! there we go. all the best players in the world with the champions. nothing. nothing other than a treble. but we'll not go there just yet. it's a few times now i've seen this, but never get sick of seeing it. love city. hope for some more. what can i say? fantastic. but we're getting used to it now, aren't we? it'sjust one of them things. leeds united's premier league fate is hanging by a thread as europa conference league finalists west ham came from behind to secure a 3—1 victory at london stadium.

leeds must now beat spurs and hope other results go their way. they need everton not to win their game against bournemouth or they need leicester city to fail to collect four points from their final two games in order for leeds to stay up. the leeds fans that remained in the stadium until the final whistle didn't look particularly encouraged by their side's chances. we slipped up last week when we could have won against newcastle and today we haven't showed the quality that was needed when when we had the opportunity to get a result today. so next week has to be much, much better than those two games to beat tottenham and and that's all we can do. all the players need to do is roll their sleeves up, apply themselves in the right way and try and beat tottenham, and hope the other result has gone in our favour. we've not had a lot of good things through the whole year probably, but the last week has been fantastic to get to a final and then to win today the way we did in front of the home supporters and everybody buoyant

at the bbc sport centre, it is goodbye. hello. it's been a weekend of mixed fortunes weather—wise where we did see the sunshine come through, it's been pleasantly warm. in fact, sunday was the warmest day of the year so far in the uk at 23.3 degrees in the sunshine at porthmadog. but under the cloud across aberdeenshire we only got to about 12 celsius. so where you see the sunshine coming through, where you see the cloud makes all the difference. really this time of year and through the week ahead, things are looking mostly dry. yes, some warm sunshine around, but variable amounts of clouds. so where you do get the cloudier spells of weather, it won't feel particularly warm through this week, but generally dry is the theme. high pressure building from the atlantic through this week. a couple of weather fronts just moving around the top of that high pressure at times. so there'll be a bit more cloud coming and going, particularly towards the north. now through monday, then,

most places looking dry from the word go. we've got a bit more cloud drifting across parts of eastern england. northern england, too, but a brighter day to come for scotland and for northern ireland. most of us dry, just the chance perhaps of a shower towards the pennines. top temperatures between about 16 to 22 for most of us, but a little bit colder than that across the north of scotland where we've got the breeze coming in from the west here. now heading through monday evening, overnight into tuesday, a bit of cloud again across parts of eastern england. should be frost free as we start the day on tuesday, but could just be temperatures down to about three or four degrees where we do see some of those clearer spells. so into tuesday, then, a slightly cooler, fresher day, probably the coolest day of the week, in fact, because just a bit of a change in those winds. just bringing the winds in from a bit more of a northerly direction. so cool across some eastern areas. we've got a bit of cloud and that breeze from the north sea. but actually most of us, again, having a dry, quiet day, generally light winds a little bit cloudier in the far northwest. so temperatures varying between about 11 there in lerwick to around about 19 degrees or so further south across england and wales. probably the only day that we won't reach

20 degrees this week. into wednesday, a cold front, chills pushing into the north. so introducing some colder air again across the far north of scotland. and a bit more cloud could be the odd light shower here. much of the uk again having a dry fine day. they'll be fairweather cloud bubbling up and you can see that cloud generating across parts of southern and eastern england through the day. top temperatures probably up to about 20, 21 degrees for most of us. we could just squeeze 22 there for the likes of northeast england. towards the end of the week, then, staying dry and settle for variable amounts of sunshine stays dry into next weekend too. bye bye.
