you're going! next month it's the special olympics in berlin. here's the moment whenjack venturini discovered he'd been selected. even chewie's celebrating, look! i was just in tears. my dog was jumping all over me and everything. but i was so happy to be picked for great britain. and yeah, just outstanding to be here with all of the lads. that's it. play to win, play for britain. but most of all, play for unity. joe wilson, bbc news, st george's park. time for a look at the weather. here's chris fawkes. some glorious sunsets and sunrises? yes, like this. perhaps you saw some of these. this was last night in the warwickshire area. the vast majority of the house you can see in the sky

our aeroplane contrails. the water that aeroplanes check out the back makes controls. sometimes when there is a lot of moisture in the atmosphere, seven miles up in the sky, where the aeroplanes fly, they can persist for many, many hours, going the spectacular sunrise and sunset pictures. you get a sense of these contrails starting to work away, these lines of cloud you can see on the satellite picture. and they are, because we are starting to get drier air moving in across england, seven miles up in the atmosphere. you are less likely to see those contrails hanging around quite as long. weather—wise today we have a bit of patchy cloud across south—west scotland and northern ireland, may be an odd light shower. otherwise, the vast majority of the uk having dry weather with plenty of sunshine stop the sunshine, of course, is stronger this time of year. we have high levels of uv. the temperatures are widely reaching the high teens or low 20s. probably peaking at 23 celsius this afternoon. let's look at the weather picture overnight tonight, and we will keep the drier weather. clear
1:32 pm
skies and temperatures around seven or nine degrees, you might notice something colder than not working to northern scotland. this area of high pressure will be with us for the next several days, through the weekend, even, and into the early part of next week. it will continue to bring fine weather. the wind is coming round of the atlantic. temperatures are not going to change very much. the only changes you might see weather—wise for thursday is perhaps a little bit more the way of cloud across central and eastern areas of england. but it won't spoil the sunshine much, really. those temperatures will still climb into the high teens or low 20s. how does 22 or 23 degrees compare with other recent mays? actually, it's not that high for temperatures in may at this time of year. more often than not, the warm spells bring us into the middle high 20s. more of that dry weather to come on friday, more sunshine. perhaps more cloud working into north—west scotland.
1:33 pm
temperatures again, high teens and low 20s. if you have any worries weather the weather will last into the bank holiday weekend, well, it should do. it should stay fine with temperatures still into the low 20s. we are talking about a big storm going into guam. this typhoon is just crossing to the north of the island. we had a gust of 97 mph. this is causing serious damage. most of the island is without electricity supplies, but this continues to cause problems over the next few hours. and that's bbc news at one. you can keep up with all the latest developments on the bbc website. the news continues here on bbc one — as now its time hello, i'm gavin ramjaun — live from the bbc sport centre.

is the second time the england squad will be together this year and there are lot of talking points. the number of manchester city players he will call up. then there are question marks over liverpool player trent alexander arnold and chelsea raheem sterling, neither of whom were in the last international squad and although gareth southgate will want to try new players, these are competitive games and the european championships in germany isjust next summer so we may see some new faces but gareth southgate will pick the players to get points on the board. elsewhere, the head of the international player union — fifpro — says protocols around stopping racism in the game have failed. jonas beer—hoffman was speaking to the bbc, as valencia have been sanctioned with a partial stadium closure for five matches

following the racist abuse of real madrid forward viniciuer. the club has also been fined 16,000 euros. the brazilian was subject to racism during the match on sunday — his frustration eventually spilling over as he was sent off. that red card has now been rescinded. meanwhile, police say they've detained three people in connection with the abuse directed at viniciusjunior, at the mestalla stadium. speaking ahead of real madrid's game this evening against rayo vallecano, manager carlo ancelloti says, "this is not war, this is a sport." translation: vinicius is not guilty. he's a victim who can be painted as guilty sometimes when people say he's provoking or talking about his attitude. no, let's make it very clear. vinicius is the victim of all this. condemning is not enough. when did we start doing at? we've been condemning racism for very long time, but after condemning, one needs to act, and nobody has acted yet in a way that makes this problem go away. it's a problem of racism and it's
1:37 pm
a problem of insults. the fallout continues around the world. these were the scenes in sao paulo earlier, as fans gathered outside the spanish consulate to protest at the treatment of vinicius. and many fellow players and ex players have condemned what's happened in spain, with even some of real madrid's most bitter rivals involved. this was fellow brazilian raphina last night, as he was subbed for barcelona, taking off his shirt to reveal a message of support. there is a structural problem that this sport still has in tackling this sport still has in tackling this effectively. he is right now an unbelievable target of obese and it is frustrating that it takes him speaking up to this degree and him taking all this violent overuse for people to react. it is insufficient
1:38 pm
and it feels like the defendant stiffness shows the insufficiency to respond to the actual problem. the actual problem is that he has been subject to racial abuse for an eternity without a structural response being in place. the responsibility to protect him as an employee of the club operating in this league, there is a duty of care towards those players and the 3—step protocol has repeatedly failed. it has repeatedly shown that the referees are either not well trained or in the capacity to execute it properly. the amount of times the players get wet yellow cards, red cards, with their own emotions pointing out what has happened to them and they are the ones being

punished, just shows that this protocol has failed and we have repeatedly pointed this out, we have repeatedly pointed this out, we have repeatedly called on the institutions are set up another process led by players who have lived experiences just change this protocol and to put the owners away from the target of the crime to basically initiate the action to protect them. it is deeply flawed and was may be put in place with good intention that we have now had so many cases where it has failed and it is long overdue that it is amended. here, manchester united's rainbow devils fans group has urged supporters not to sing offensive homophobic chants when they take on chelsea in the premier league tomorrow night. recent meetings between the clubs have been marred by the singing, which was also aimed at chelsea boss frank lampard injanuary when he was the manager of everton. united have repeatedly condemned the chants. it's just something that can be quite easily taken away from football whether all the amazing songs that all clubs have,

especially manchester united. there no real need for it. the education and just explaining to people, why it is outdated, why it is not necessary, hopefully we can continue the reduction that i think we're beginning to see. well, in the premier league this evening — newly crowned champions manchester city go to brighton — where they'll receive a guard of honour ahead of the game. manager pep guardiola says he wants the 115 premier league financial charges against the club to be dealt with "as soon as possible." they were charged in february with breaches of the league's financial rules between 2009 to 2018. city have denied financial wrongdoing and guardiola says he wants the matter cleared up. next season with the breaches for premier league, don't worry, we will be there. now it is the premier league, so let's go. come on, 2a

peninsula but that appears to be the focus of research is here today and yesterday. imagine having a seizure in public, and instead of people coming to help, they avoid you because they think you're drunk, or even try to steal from you. that's the reality for people with epilepsy, according to new research, which looks at how seizures in public are impacting people with the condition. today, a charity is launching a campaign to highlight how we should deal with someone having a seizure. tim muffett reports. in myself i feel very sick, very dizzy. my breathing becomes a bit more shallow. i suck air in. whilstjogging in this field in east sussex, simon knew an epileptic seizure was imminent. my tongue is gone, my eyes have gone, i can't move. and this is where the big seizure, it happened. so, i lost consciousness. and the next thing i can remember was a dog walker.
