time for a look at the weather. here's chris fawkes. lovely blue skies but it is a mixed picture? we have the same high pressure across the k today but there are two types of weather, this blue sky and sunshine in northern ireland where it will be warm again but the alternative is a rather grey scene in east yorkshire. that cloud really reluctant to break. satellite picture shows the cloud coming in from the north sea. and these are the winds lowering the cloud in this direction. the other thing about the cloud is it a three times thicker than this time yesterday meaning it is less likely to break up. it could be the computers are a bit optimistic in breaking this certainly across eastern england the cloud may linger all day.

temperatures in the midlands at the minute only around 11 degrees so it is chilly but in the sunshine for west scotland and northern ireland temperatures soaring to around 2a or 25 degrees. so a massive contrast in the weather and in temperature even though we are underneath the same high pressure. overnight the cloud comes back in and as temperatures drop below 10 degrees we start to get some drizzle falling from that cloud sheet. across parts of east scotland and eastern central parts of england it is likely to be a damp start to thursday morning. the morning the drizzle petering out but the cloud will linger across some eastern areas, further west a better chance of seeing the cloud break. for example across parts of wales and the west midlands. temperatures might be climbing again into the 20s in those sunny skies out west. on

friday high pressure is still there but we think there will will be less cloud around some more of us should have that brighter weather with sunshine. a cool wind blowing from the north sea, quite gusty in the south—west of england. for the weekend the same area of high pressure that has been with us now for ages is still on the charts but we will see some cloud across the north atlantic getting pulled down into the north sea and so something of a split this weekend, mainly dry with questionnaire was having the best of the sunshine and temperatures into the mid 20s where across eastern areas the threat of a bit more cloud and temperatures stain into the teens with that cool wind coming in. that is the latest. and that's bbc news at one. you can keep up with all the latest developments on the bbc website. the news continues here on bbc one, as now it's time to join our colleagues across the nations and regions for the news where you are.

confident roma are of lifting the trophy. i think roma have clearly laid their stall out in the last few games particularly with what they are trying to do. there was a significant push when they were competing for a top four place, and i think honesty looking at their squad and comparing them to other teams, getting into the top four would have been an impressive feat, but, yes, in this last part of the season, they haven*t won any of their last six games. joe seen arranger has clearly geared his team selection to one thing only, beating by a letter accusing and winning the europa league. d0 by a letter accusing and winning the eumpa league-— europa league. do you get the feelin: europa league. do you get the feeling roma _ europa league. do you get the feeling roma have _ europa league. do you get the feeling roma have the - europa league. do you get the feeling roma have the edge i europa league. do you get the i feeling roma have the edge later because of thatjosie seen a near factor and his experience in this final? i factor and his experience in this final? ~ * , . factor and his experience in this final? ~ 3 .
