in to say to people had been found deadin in to say to people had been found dead in the street. to give you an idea of where that incident took place in relation to the rest of the city, that is marked here. two people found dead on ilkeston road. we have got three other areas that we are going to focus on, including where people were injured. another man was found dead and also where the 31—year—old man was arrested. first of all we have got the area heading into the city where two people were found dead. this is a major road heading into the city centre. it is a mix of houses and businesses, and once we get into the city centre is where the second incident is believed to have taken place. this is milton street. it is a very pedestrian friendly area, a large shopping centre here. this is where of that is believed to have hit three people who are currently in hospital. then we have other large parts of the city here cordoned off at the moment with police investigating. we have a

that three people died, two of them in the incident on ilkeston road, just after liam, another man was found dead on magdala road shortly afterwards. we know that police have arrested a 31—year—old man on suspicion of murder, and he remains in police custody. crucially, and we can see these pictures that we showed a little earlier, a number of roads, major roads in nottingham city centre, remain closed as that investigation is under way, and continues. most of the footage we are seeing, you can still see a lot of activity from the forensic police there. there is a number of people in these images that came to us earlier in the day. police say that, at the moment, they are not looking for anyone else in connection with these attacks. they do have a team of dedicated detectives who are investigating the circumstances as we said at the top of that new police statement. they say that they

are keeping an open mind. the other thing that is important to pull out from the police statement is that they say they are also working alongside counterterrorism policing to establish the facts. they do stress that they would normally do that in these types of circumstances, but it is important to note that. they confirmed that they have a man in custody, arrested on suspicion of murder, and as they said earlier in the same statement, they don't believe anyone else is involved in the incident. we are still showing you some recent pictures of the scene in the city centre of nottingham. i think it is quite significant that the main area in the centre of nottingham, a large city in england, is still shut down. it shows you how extensive the crime scene is. it shows you how active the crime scene is, because we have seen other images as well, of forensic teams and some of the other

locations. police said in their statement, it is safe to go into the city centre, but there are a number of streets that will remain closed. that includes ilkeston road, magdala road, milton street and maple street. this is so that officers can gather evidence in also to understand what happened. we mentioned ilkeston road. that is where the first incident happened, police say, at liam, where they found two people dead in the road. one witness who spoke to the bbc, not on camera, but shared an update with our live page, said that he saw a man and a woman, young man and a woman, being killed. he said he heard bloodcurdling screams. we have been able to confirm any more on that. we did get an update around 1pm today, where another police raid

took place on a property on ilkeston road. my colleague was there and he filmed this footage which we can see there. you can see police, a number of armed police, outside a property. they have knocked down the door, and according is still in place on ilkeston road. you have nine hours after that incident took place in the morning, there is still a lot of police activity on ilkeston road. this is clearly an extensive investigation across a number of sites in nottingham. three people have died, a man has been arrested on suspicion of murder. one man is in a critical condition in hospital. two others have had minor injuries and we still don't know any more about the suspect, and we still don't know the motive. this pictures that have just come in to us about 1pm, show another read, or a raid on

ilkeston road. that is the same street where police say they first found two people dead in the road at 4am. we have been getting reaction throughout the day from the politicians in the country, who have been reacting to the horrific events in nottingham. first let's tell you what prime minister rishi sunak had to say. he tweeted a statement. he said, i want to thank police and emergency services to their ongoing response to the shocking incident. the prime minister said he has been kept updated on developments, and that the police must be given the time to undertake their work. he said that his thoughts were with those injured and the family of loved ones who lost their lives. it is important to say that we also heard in the last couple of hours from the prime minister's official spokesman, who said that the prime minister had been told about this incident earlier in the morning. he is being kept updated on what is

shopping centre. the market square is a very busy place, but hours after this incident took place, it is still a massive crime scene. it is still a massive crime scene. it is significant to showing at these pictures, because it shows you that this investigation is going to be very extensive. in the last half an hour we did get an update from the police. while we continue to look at these pictures, i am going to remind you of some of the latest that we have heard from the police. police say that they are keeping an open mind over the motive of the attack. crucially, they believe that no one else is responsible for the attack. there is no one else outstanding. they have, of course, arrested a 31—year—old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder. we know that one man is in hospital in a critical
