we canjust we can just see now the families of the two student victims now laying flowers as the vigil for grace o'malley—kumar and barnaby webber at the university of nottingham, the educational institution they both attended and were both in their first year, wraps up. you can see there the family's holding hands. as they walk away into the arms of each other. if you have brought your own flowers, feel free to let us know. members of sports teams as well,

o'malley—kumar's fellow sports team laying flowers. she was a keen hockey player. she actually represented england for her age category. barnaby webber was a keen cricketer. so some people are laying bouquets of flowers, but others are laying a single stem. there have been well over 1000 students have gathered here for this vigil on the campus at the university of nottingham. people from across the

university. grace o'malley—kumar was a student, and we heard about their passion for that study —— grace o'malley—kumar was a medicine student and barnaby webber was a history student. grace was a promising medical student. history student. grace was a promising medicalstudent. huge disbelief at notjust promising medicalstudent. huge disbelief at not just the fact that these 219—year—olds lost their lives, but the way in which their young lives were taken —— that these two 19—year—olds lost their lives. we are watching pictures of the vigil at the university of nottingham campus at several hundreds of people have gathered, mostly students, as you can see at a

the speakers here said, this was supposed to be a time of big celebrations, now turned into the darkest days for these students. the university of nottingham graduate ball was actually supposed to take place yesterday. that, of course, was cancelled. this was supposed to be the end of the first year for both grace o'malley—kumar and barnaby webber, who had only started university last year. they were wrapping up their exams, wrapping at the end of the year, and they died on their way back from a night out. as you can see, the pictures we are looking at now show students visibly distressed and moved. the vice

take for these students to really comprehend and process what has happened. the vigil is finished now but people are still standing in silence here, the book of condolence has been opened here for both the victims. let is not forget the third victims. let is not forget the third victim of yesterday's attacks, ian coates, in his 50s, a caretaker at a school here in nottingham who died in a separate incident yesterday. he was also mentioned individual today, but a very, very deeply moving ceremony here in nottingham where we heard from the parents of both the 19—year—old victims who died yesterday in that attack. we do, of course, have more on this story on the bbc website and a special live page as well. to stay with us.
