to a charge of using "insulting or abusive language". his four—match ban is for european matches only. meanwhile, roma have been banned from selling tickets to their travelling fans for one european game next season and fined 55,000 euros after they were charged with the throwing of objects, the lighting of fireworks and improper conduct of their team. it's been a day of big moves in the football world. let's bring you up to date with the tastiest of today's transfers. manchester city captain ilkay gundogan willjoin barcelona on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of the month. g ndogan was integral to the club winning the treble this season scoring six goals in his final seven games, including a double in the 2—1 fa cup final win over manchester united. chelsea have agreed a deal with arsenal to sell german international forward kai havertz for around £65 million subject to the player passing a medical and agreeing personal terms.

the 24—year—old joined chelsea from bayer leverkusen three years ago, in a deal worth about him. lots of movement out of chelsea. their croatia midfielder mateo kovacic is close to joining manchester city, after they agreed a deal worth up to £30 million. kovacicjoined chelsea from real madrid in 2019. chelsea are reducing the size of their squad, as new manager mauricio pochettino takes over. french midfielder n'golo kante is also leaving stamford bridge. he's moving to the saudi arabian champions al ittihad. it marks the end of a hugely successful run in english football for kante, who helped leicester win the premier league before moving to chelsea and winning the champions league, premier league, europa league and fa cup. defending champions the usa have announced their 23—player squad for the upcoming women's football world cup in australia and new zealand. it includes national team stalwart megan rapinoe,

for the sixth time this year. the number two seed holger rune is also through to the last eight. the dane ended the hopes of british wildcard ryan peniston with a straight—sets victory. rune, who reached two masters series finals earlier this year, won 6—3, 6—4, and will now face italian lorenzo musetti. in germany, top seed daniil medvedev is through to the quarter—finals of the halle 0pen. he beat serbia's laslo djere in three sets, taking the decider 6—3 to seal his place in the last eight. medvedev, who reached the final last year, plays the spaniard roberto bautista agut next. but number 2 seed stefanos tsitsipas is out. he suffered a surprise defeat at the hands of nicolas jarry of chile, who's ranked 28 in the world. tsitsipas was beaten 7—5, 7—5, and jarry will now face local favourite alexander zverev in the quarter—finals. elswehere in germany, there was a shock defeat for the number 2 seed elena rybakina at the women's event in berlin.

rybakina, who begins the defence of her wimbledon title in less that two weeks, was beaten by croatia's donna vekic, who came from a set down to seal her place in the quarter—finals. "be your best" is the motto of the special olympics, and on wednesday, that's exactly what we got from a welsh teenager. when bleddyn gibbs took up powerlifting, he could manage 20 kilos. now aged 18, he lifted over 140kg. the special olympics provides sport for people with intellectual disabilities, and our reporterjoe wilson is at the world summer games in berlin. in berlin, the power from pembrokeshire, 18—year—old bleddyn gibbs is the king of the combined competition. in the squat, that's1a0 kilos. in other words, around 22 stone. he began the sport with his dad in wales. now is he here in berlin watching? of course.

these thunderstorms really lined up and delivered 58 millimetres of rain. that is more rain than wick would normally expect to see in the whole of a typicaljune. now for thursday — high pressure is going to be building its way in across the uk. you might think that that would mean completely dry weather. well, actually, in spite of that building area of high pressure, there will still be some scattered showers, but this time mostly across england and wales. and in between the showers, some very warm sunshine. many places will spend the day dry and certainly most will start the day dry. there'll be some early mist which will clear away some spells of sunshine, but we will see showers developing, particularly across england and wales. and with light winds, those showers are likely to be quite slow moving — not as many showers for northern ireland and the bulk of scotland will stay completely dry. temperatures north to south, 15 to maybe 28 degrees celsius. and then through thursday night, we'll see increasing humidity, more cloud and some rain splashing its way and particularly to northern ireland, perhaps western

parts of scotland as well by the end of the night. those higher temperatures, ten to 15 degrees, an increasingly muggy feel, which certainly will continue to be the case into friday. more cloud across the north and the west of the uk with some outbreaks of rain even down towards the south—east, a bit more cloud in the mix. still some spells of sunshine, but with that extra cloud, temperatures a little bit lower, 20 to 25 degrees, a very warm and muggy nights on friday nights. and on saturday, we will start the day with a fair amount of cloud, perhaps some mist and murk here and there, some spots of drizzle. things should brighten up as the day wears on some spells of sunshine. and if you get enough sunshine, it will feel very warm indeed, perhaps up to 28 or 29 degrees in the south east, but glasgow, belfast, still up to 24. that wedge, a very warm and humid air. but between these weather fronts here. but as this cold front swings its way eastwards as we get into sunday, well, that will change things. the timing is a little bit uncertain, but it looks
