and she chases another final appearance at the all england club and can tottenham's new manager convince harry kane to stay at the club?... — he says he'll try and lisa leads from the front again: adams is still the para—athletics world champion welcome to the programme, lots to get through. but we start at wimbledon where the quarter final line up is now complete in the men and women's draws at wimbledon — and carlos alcaraz remains one of the favourites to win the men's singles title. the world number one through to the last eight for the first time after beating the 2021 runner—up matteo berratini on centre court in four sets.

next up — sixth seed holger rune. you know, it's not easy, you know? after losing the first set, i knew that i was going to have my chances, you know, to stay focused, to stay there. that something that i'm working working on, you know, to stay focused, you know, don't lose my mind, maybe. and i think i did great, you know, in that part, i'm really, really happy to come back after a great match. well defending champions novak djokovic and elena rybakina are also in to the quarters —and so is the american outsider christopher eubanks who provided the big upset of the day. from the all england club , here's chetan pathak and so the quarter final line up is complete. and yet again, novak djokovic is there. he saw off poland's hubert hurkacz in four sets.
12:47 am
it was already 2—0 up when play resumed earlier on center court, djokovic did drop the third set against her coach, who of course, put roger federer out a couple of years ago, but he couldn't keep up that momentum. djokovic finally broke serve in the fourth set and goes through to play russia's andrei rublev. in the last eight, america's christopher eubanks has been one of the stories of these championships. he's the world number 43, and he's having the week of his life. he's put out the greek fifth seed, stefanos tsitsipas. tsitsipas, who'd already seen off andy murray and dominic thiem in five sets, couldn't get past eubanks, who previously beaten last year's semifinalist cam norrie. eubanks winning this one in five, and he'll now play daniil medvedev, one of three russian men in the quarterfinals. that's not happened here before. medvedev only needed to win two sets against yury lachica before his opponent retired with injury. there was also a retirement in the women's draw elena rybakina safely through to the quarter finals
12:48 am
after her brazilian opponent, beatrice haddad maia pulled up with a lower back problem, 4—1 down in the first set and rybakina will now play tunisia's ons jabeur in the quarterfinals. that's a repeat, of course, of last year's final, which rybakina won. jabuer looked really impressive at the championship so far and beat the two time champion petra kvitova love and three. the australian open champion aryna sabalenka is also through to the quarterfinals. she's look better and better round by round. she saw off ekaterina alexandrova in straight sets and next for sabalenka will be america's madison keys, who dropped the first set against the russian 16 —year—old mira andreeva. but keys did get our act together. those final two sets. it's been a really impressive championships from andreeva, who did show her frustration a couple of times in the match being docked a point

for throwing a racket at one stage, but she is definitely one to watch for the future. now away from wimbledon — the new tottenham hotspur manager ange postocoglu says he will try and convince harry kane to stay at the club. the england captain, who came through the spurs youth academy, turns 30 later this month and is the club's all time leading goal—scorer. he has attracted interest from bayern munich as he goes into the final year of his conract. just think, you know, i don't think it's my role to sit there and and sort of treat people in a manner because of their circumstances. i'm really big onjust treating everyone the same, and harry hass already entrenched himself in the history of this football club is a very important part is the premier striker and i want him involved here. my conversation with him will be about how we can make this club successful.
12:50 am
and i've got no doubt that that's that's what he wants as well. well, today should have been the final day of the third ashes test. instead, it's a day that england will have been spending looking back on a job well done. the three wicket victory over australia to keep the series alive. there's a bit of a break before the fourth test at old trafford. it's nine days away, but there are some key decisions to be made. what's going to be the make up of the pace attack? willjimmy anderson come back into the side on his home ground in manchester? nowjonny bairstow has put down seven catches in the series. is he going to keep the gloves? and what about the top order? who comes in at three? harry brook and moeen ali there. they both had a go at headingley and didn't last very long. questions, questions four test match specials. henry moran. hi there, henry. there are a lot of questions, aren't there? should we start with jimmy anderson and that pace attack, which looked pretty good at headingley? sentiment can't play a part here, can it? i think the most likely and obvious change ifjimmy anderson is to come back in, would be in place of ollie robinson, who didn't
12:51 am
look quite himself. he went off injured, didn't bowl the over as it would have been expected that he would have done, and also hasn't quite been at the pace that he would want to be either. i think stuart broad will almost certainly play because of how well he's done, particularly against david warner at the top of the order. so i think we're quite likely to seejimmy anderson back in the side at his home ground. in what, of course, is such a big test match now, hasn'tjonny bairstow been at the centre of things, whether he's grappling with a protester, you know, that controversial run out that caused a diplomatic incident for a few days. but the bread and butter. keeping wicket, taking catches, chipping in with enough runs as well. has he done enough? well, statistically, no. having said that, i think it would be very surprising, given what we know about the stubborn nature and the loyalty shown by brendon mccullum and ben stokes. if they were to remove jonny bairstow from the side and bring in ben foakes because bairstow is the sort of player if he gets in he can score big runs, he can take a game away from a side.
12:52 am
but that 78 he scored in the first test at edgbaston feels a long time ago now. my instinct, though, is we'll seejonny bairstow playing again for england in that fourth test. we know there's no ollie pope playing at three. where do they turn to at old trafford? there is absolutely an argument to say we will see a repeat of england's batting line up. and because moeen ali came into this series with so little to lose, he answered england's call whenjack leach was ruled out of the series with injury. he isn't looking towards his test future necessarily. he's playing this selfless role where he's quite happy to go in and do his bit. and if that responsibility is to bat at three and try and see off the new ball if there is an early wicket, he's happy to do it and i think that it's quite likely we're going to see the same thing once again. now the australia captain, pat cummins, he was trying to put on a brave face. he says look, the momentum is still with them because they're 2—1 in the series. they've got some decisions to make as well. of course, going into the fourth test and the big one, this would seem unthinkable.
12:53 am
david warner. david warner is a big game player. he is playing his final ashes series in england. he'll be desperate to play australia. might think he is the sort of player that has been there and done it and if he can get away, he could win as a test match. the question is will australia 2—1 up in the series hold their nerve? stick with warner at the top of the order because of course if they make that change, it rather signals to england and the watching public that maybe they are rocking a little bit, maybe they are a little bit worried about how things have gone in the last test. henry moran there. to the para—athletics world championships in paris — highjumperjonathan broome edwards won gb*s second gold, the new zealand shot putter lisa adams , and the silver bullet marcel hug were some of the international stars celebrating as wellas rachael latham reports celebrating as well as rachael latham reports it's the end of day three here at the world championships, and some of the best para—athletes from around the world have been

showcasing their talents, including new zealand's lisa adams. she's a reigning world champion in the shot put. she comes from a very sporty family. her sister is a coach and olympic champion. valerie. and her brother, who plays in the nba, was here cheering her on from the stands. and will be watching her pick up that gold medal. i caught up with her after her throw and i'm i'm pretty stoked with today. happy that i was able to build her out my series. i always feel like it's athletes. we can be happy, but we're never satisfied with what we do at. yeah, but. no, that's cool. yeah, i'm glad. and the swiss athletes have certainly been showing their dominance. marcel gives a six time paralympic champion, added another gold medal to his collection, winning the 5000 meters he led from the start and was well ahead of the rest of the field the whole way. he said that he's looking forward to more competition at the paralympic games next year as some of his competitors were missing. but he does everything to try and improve himself and for the love of his sport.

and his team—mate catherine de bruna also won a gold medal in the 5000 metres. she has been very dominant since 2019 in the shorter distances, but today showed that she can hold her own in that long distance as well. rachel latham there, who'll be in paris at the world paris all week for us. get details of all the results in that. and all our top stories are the latest from wimbledon on your bbc sport app or the bbc sport website as well. from me and the rest of the team at the bbc sport centre, goodbye. hello there. there's no real change in our weather patterns coming our way any time soon. and that means it stays unsettled. loads more showers in the forecast as we'll see in a moment. for monday, we have some heavy downpours come through starting off across parts of northern ireland before spreading to scotland. and as they work through, threave brought 15 millimetres of rain in a space ofjust an hour, really
12:56 am
torrential rain. that's a bit more than half an inch of rain injust an hour. now, those heavy bursts of rain are working north eastwards at the moment. the rain will ease as we head towards dawn, but at the same time we'll see some heavy rain pop up across the midlands running into lincolnshire and east anglia as well. still quite warm and humid across eastern areas of england as we start the day tuesday. but in the west a relatively fresh field to the day, with temperatures around 13—14 degrees. now, tuesday morning, we'll see that band of rain start off with across east anglia, south east england, taking a while to clear out of the way. but once it's gone, it's essentially a day of sunshine and showers. i think some of the showers could merge together to give some longer spells of rain for west scotland, and perhaps through the central lowlands, and also some fairly lengthy downpours coming across wales and running into the midlands too. temperatures a little bit below average for the time of year, but in the sun it won't feel too bad. now, wimbledon, i can't rule out an odd passing shower, but there'll be large stretches of the day that are dry with some sunshine coming through. taking a look at the jet stream pattern across a good chunk of the northern hemisphere. we've got this pattern
12:57 am
at the moment. this is an omega block. now, the uk finds itself underneath a trough. that's where low pressure form. and the thing with these blocks is theyjust don't move very far. it's going to be like this really throughout the rest of this week, into the weekend and even into next week. and what that does for us is, even as we lose one area of low pressure, later in the week another one pops up as if by magic and works back across the country. we've got that kind of repeating pattern. weather kind of like a broken record at the moment. wednesday, yes, it's a day of sunshine and showers. probably a cooler feel to the weather across scotland and northern ireland, where we'll start to get more of a northwesterly breeze. so temperatures just coming down here, a few degrees in the south and east, 21, maybe fewer showers here for wednesday. but really looking at the rest of the week into the weekend and even into the early stage of next week, the showers will continue to pack in. there will be quite a lot of dry weather, even on these showery days. the showers perhaps lasting an hour or two, but still some heavy downpours to come.
