supplier operating and maintaining the network. that is a flat standard charge. everybody pays it. as that caller was saying whether you are a rich household running swimming pools and everything, you pay the same standing charge. for lower energy use is that standing charge is a bigger part of the bill so if people were able to safely conserve energy and a lot of people were, good half your energy use and not half your energy bill because of the importance of the standing charge. ever since we went into privatisation of energy there was the regulatory system. it really needs to be looked at. there are a number of things around electricity prices, that are pegged the price of gas because gas balance of supply and demand because it is a flexible generation so it has been pulling up the electricity price. is that the right way to do pricing? there really needs to be a wholesale, if you pardon the pun, a wholesale look at how the system is operating and
