1:57 pm
for the southeast of england where temperatures have reached 25 or 26 degrees with the odd heavy shower persisting over the next few days. those temperatures in the southeast are going to fall back closer to what they should be for the time of year. this evening and overnight, we continue to see some wet weather for western and some central areas of scotland, maybe a few showers for northern ireland, but largely dry elsewhere. and a lot of clear skies developing tonight. so it is going to be a cooler night. last night we saw temperatures from many staying in the low teens. tonight, we could see temperatures dipping into the single figure. so a cooler start to the day tomorrow, but with a clear skies, not a bad start for many. largely dry, some sunshine first thing tomorrow morning. just some pieces of cloud here and there. northerly winds developing through the day tomorrow will bring some patchy rain into scotland at first dry air further south, but then scattered showers will pop up across northern ireland, into northern england and into wales as well. some of those could be quite pokey, maybe with some rumbles of thunder
1:58 pm
— towards the southeast, largely dry but turning cooler, temperatures falling back closer to what they should be at around 21 degrees into saturday where we hold on to the low pressure system. it continues to bring some northerly winds towards the north and the west of the uk. a fair amount of dry weather to begin with with some sunshine, but scattered showers will develop through the day almost anywhere and there will be a risk of some heavy thundery downpours as well. but there will be sunshine in between. it won't be a complete washout and temperatures for many of us will be pretty standard for the time of year. into sunday, another area of low pressure is going to come in from the atlantic. it's going to bring cloudy, wet weather for northern ireland through sunday. it will become patchier as it nudges its way eastwards, but staying sunnier and largely dry, though, towards the southeast of england. so not a bad picture for some sunshine there in london on sunday. across bank holiday monday. for most of us, not a bad picture, a fair amount of dry weather and some sun.
