and brother. they were taken to court saying they had illegally detained two brothers during questioning. the police said they did question both of them and they did question both of them and they did detain them but said they did not arrest them. the end result today has been the police have said they will not arrest them but they will continue to question them. we spoke to the family as well and they told us that they do not know where they are and they have not been in contact. we know they have told the police they believe he has now left the area the family are from an this is a key area where much of the search has continued. police say they still don't know where the men are. hospital consultants in england have begun their latest strike over pay this morning, walking out for 48 hours. their union the british medical association has already announced another 48—hour strike next month and now says there will be more action in october, lasting three days. 0ur health correspondent, dominic hughes, has more.
2:51 pm
from bristol to brighton, london to nottingham, once again, consultant doctors in england are on picket lines. a 48 hour strike over pay that nhs bosses say has the potential to be extremely disruptive. unlike when junior doctors strike, no one else can cover for consultants, so almost all routine care will be suspended. morale in the health service is currently at an all—time low. doctors say they have been left with no choice but to take action. doctors are having to strike with their backs against the wall. it's not something they want to do. we have faced a significant pay cut over the last 15 years of nearly 35%. so the workload, if anything, has increased. and we are effectively doing three to four months free of charge every year. there will inevitably be an impact on patients.
2:52 pm
for people like carol, it's a worrying time. she is waiting to be given the all clear after cancer treatment, but that has been delayed by previous strike action. slight concern that i wasn't sure how things were going to develop. but a sort of feeling that i was actually now personally involved with what's been going on for years with the nhs and running down has actually washed up at my door. it's interesting that you are so sympathetic to the doctors, given that you have been so directly affected? my fight is my fight and everybody else's fight. we have to save the nhs, and we have to pay our doctors and nurses what they are worth to stop them from going somewhere else. this strike is fundamentally about pay, but a fresh analysis of senior doctors' salary and other wealthy nations reveals that pay for doctors in countries like the netherlands, ireland and germany is ahead of those in england, where the average salary of a consultant is
2:53 pm
just over £121,000. but that is more than doctors and in spain, italy and france. ministers describe a 6% pay offer is fair and reasonable. we have accepted in full the recommendations of the pay review body, and we call on the bma to end the strikes, because the strikes will ultimately impact patients, particularly those patients waiting for their operations. the doctors' union the bma had already announced further strike days in september and now in october as well. and as with their more junior colleagues, there is little sign of any compromise from either side in this dispute. dominic hughes, bbc news. how much does a humboldt penguin weigh — you may ask. chances are, you haven't, but if you have, london zoo might have the answer. every year, the zoo—keepers record the vital statistics of their animals to monitor their health and well—being and today is weigh—in day. a wonderfuljob today, and what a day for it as well.
2:54 pm
we have been at london zoo all morning for the annual weigh—in of 14,000 animals, not all today, it will take one week. we have seen the tigers, gorillas, and we saw the penguins being weighed, and now we are at the squirrel monkey enclosure, some of the smallest primates, each weighing only about 500 grams each. at the gorilla enclosure, the largest silverback gorilla weighed in at 196 kilograms. to talk through all of this, angela ryan is the head of london zoo. a successful weigh—in day so far? they are having fun with the squirrel monkeys, with a troop, it is tricky to get the weight of some of the animals more dominant, coming down, wanted to get their treats and the others taking a little bit of time. we are getting there today. tell us more about how this data is used to help with conservation efforts, not only checking in with the well—being of the animals.
2:55 pm
we check in on the health of our animals every day, but this information is shared. we use a database, the zoological information management system, it is a great database used across the world with many different zoos. we can share the weight of our animals, the general health and age of our animals, whether they have bred, if they're coming into breeding season, all the information is on the database which is shared worldwide and we can use that information to grow, learn about animals, and to make sure we breed our animals well and share that with conservationists who they can use that information to help track animals, to work out whether an animal in wild is pregnant or breeding. it is a really important information. stay with us here on bbc news.
