owe i’ over fears they could told to close over fears they could collapse. spain's world cup—winning goalkeeper tells the bbc she's disappointed that their victory has been overshadowed by the spanish fa boss kissing her team—mate. the stunning entries for this year's wildlife photographer of the year competition — we'll speak to one of the photographers and a judge. sport now and a full round—up from the bbc sport centre, here's will. hello from the bbc sport centre. uefa president aleksander ceferin has described the behaviour of spanish football federation president luis rubiales as "inappropriate" — but he's called for fifa's investigation to be allowed to run its course. rubiales has said he won't resign after he kissed spanish player jenni hermoso on the lips after their world cup win over england. a video has emerged of hermoso and her team—mates laughing and discussing the kiss on the team bus following the game but chelsea women's manager, emma hayes, says such a reaction isn't unnatural.

we all do lots of different things in shock. i don't look at it like that, i look at it as a group of women where it's always been normalised for them. i think finding a smile in something that is quite reveals an awful lot about the situation rather than the person. i think for someone likejenni, you could see in her interview directly after the game, she was completely uncomfortable but no one has been listening to them for such a long period of time. jordan henderson has been named in gareth southgate*s latest england squad, the first following his move to al—ettifaq in saudi arabia. the former liverpool captain is in line to win his 78th cap. levi colwill has been named in the senior squad for the first time in defence while harry maguire has been included despite not featuring for manchester united this season. arsenal striker eddie nketiah gets a first senior call—up

but raheem sterling misses out. the basis of the squad is, we left old trafford after a couple of really good performances, four good performances in the group, so i did not want to move from the squad we had that day. we are only three games into the start of the season. but we have had a lot of people at the back with issues so we have had to make changes and the only other change is eddie who is coming in because it is an area where we would like to have a look at him. he is a young player with a really good pedigree. very good finisher. it's good for him to have some time with us. lewis hamilton and george russell will continue as mercedes* driver line—up for at least the next two years. hamilton's signed a new contract that will extend his spell with the team to 13 years and keep him in f1 well past his 40th birthday. russell, whojoined mercedes in 2022, has also signed a two—year deal.
3:33 pm
for hamilton, it allows him to continue that quest for that record eighth world drivers* title caroline wozniacki picked up the biggest win since making her comeback by beating 11th seed petra kvitova to reach the us open third round. the former world number one, who retired in 2020 and has since had two children, came through in straight sets in the night session in new york against her long time rival. wozniaki will face american jennifer brady in round 3. not long to go in the transfer window, spain forward ansu fati is set to complete a surprise season—long loan move to brighton from barcelona and matheus nunes is getting closer to becoming a manchester city player. the wolves and portugal midfielder has now been cleared to have a medical with city after a formal agreement was reached. the fee £53 million — a club record sale for wolves. australia hosted an open training session

as they continue their preparations for the rugby world cup. the wallabies have lost all five matches under eddiejones since his return but he isn't phased by this run of poor results. i told the players this morning, for me, it has been a fascinating experiment almost. you think of what the tea may be and then the talents of the players have really shone through and we are just discovering now how we need to operate as a team —— you think of what the team may be. and that's all the sport for now. a reminder of the breaking news — that the government is telling schools in england to immediately shut buildings made with "crumbly" concrete until safety work is undertaken. more than hundred schools have been contacted before the start of the new term. the government says nothing is more important than making sure children and staff are safe in schools and colleges.

joining us live from the newsroom to tell us more is our education correspondent, vanessa clarke. how many locations are we actually talking about?— talking about? about 104 schools have been announced _ talking about? about 104 schools have been announced today - talking about? about 104 schools have been announced today so i talking about? about 104 schools| have been announced today so we talking about? about 104 schools - have been announced today so we have around 50 schools that know they have been contacted and now we have more than hundred more so we have more than hundred more so we have more than hundred and 50 schools in total. this is a type of concrete that was used in buildings from around the 1950s until the 90s, so any skill that was built or modified and may have used this. schools have been doing a number of investigations to see if they have it but the department for education have slightly changed tack on this
3:36 pm
and they have said as a result of careful analysis they are taking precautionary and proactive steps to change their approach so any school where it is identified that these type of concrete is used, kids will have to be moved out, so before this there could be mitigations in place, but now no child or teacher will be allowed in that building so that is allowed in that building so that is a significant step today. unions have said this has been a situation for sometime and there is no real timeline on how this will be replaced. they say it is bad timing, especially with children are back to school next week, although the department for education said this is quite a small number of schools that are being affected. i said what the government had said and that are being affected. i said what the government had said— the government had said and they referred to their _ the government had said and they referred to their plan, _ the government had said and they referred to their plan, so - the government had said and they referred to their plan, so tell - the government had said and they referred to their plan, so tell me | referred to their plan, so tell me about the contingencies? are they
