it was the picture of a lifetime, a creature once classed as extinct in england, hunting rabbits at the end of yorkshire's spurn peninsula. it's amazing. there's a lot of emotions all at once. there's the beauty of seeing the animal. there's the sort of terror of knowing that you've found something rare. and if you don't get a photograph, nobody will believe you — disbelief. how can the possibly be of pinw martin here at spurn? we're miles from woodland. and the answer to that was found in this footage, recorded a full 70 miles away in yorkshire's dalby forest. what's really unique about this instance, is that we've been able to identify the pine marten at two ends of this adventure. it has a very distinctive, creamy yellow pattern with two, particularly the two blank patches in it. we refer to them as two dots, just as a nickname. as soon as we saw the photo from spurn, we recognised that we've seen it on cameras in dalby forest. now, it's unclear why

this is the village of barton near leek in staffordshire, who take the tradition of a scarecrow competition to a whole new level. so, while weeks festival has been going on for hundreds of years, and that is to celebrate normally the end of the holidays for what was our traditional copper mines within the area, we felt that scarecrow festival fitted in really nicely and it's been running for three years now. to be fair, we've had a really, really good number of scarecrows and it's probably got a little bit more competitive every year. this scarecrow was the design of my five—year—old little girl. so, it's "row, row, row your boat." and if you see a crocodile, don't forget to scream. the theme of the competition is voted on by residents of the village in a facebook poll. however, they have been a bit loose with the definition of a nursery rhyme. i think it's taken very seriously with a pinch of salt. to be fair, we have a lot of fun with it. it's just about trying to bring people together, get the kids something to to enjoy,
