weather for the week ahead and autumn is knocking on the door. we are starting to see patterns on the satellite picture. weather systems from the south so briefly quite warm but if we look at the north atlantic, just off the eastern seaboard of canada and the us, one ex—hurricane, and sometimes the systems get caught in the jet stream, they get pushed along the jet stream right across the north atlantic and end up around our shores. this ex—tropical cyclone could be coming our way during the middle of the week and delivering a speu middle of the week and delivering a spell of wind and rain. let's summarise all of that, multiple atlantic lows heading our way on the spells of wind and rain with gaps of decent weather and yes it will feel a little bit fresher. not cold, the winds will make it fresher but temperatures still pretty decent. a speu temperatures still pretty decent. a spell of thundery weather for the

south—west early in the morning and afternoon on sunday. that will spread into the midlands and perhaps more northern and eastern parts and still respectable temperatures, 20, 22 in southern england. this is the forecast for sunday night. blobby rain moving across the country, showers and thunderstorms and with that air coming from the south, it's still a really multi—start to monday, 16 in london, about 15 in liverpool. monday into tuesday will be the transition to that more unsettled weather. this is a cold front crossing the country, gusty winds and heavy rain before sky brighten out towards the west and we will see sunny spells and showers. still holding on to the 20s particularly across east anglia and the south—east but more like 15 out towards the west and on tuesday we are well and truly into an atlantic

regime, winds and weather fronts sweeping off the ocean. this is now at this stage the beginnings of that ex—tropical cyclone that swept across the north—east of america. temperatures by this stage, 16 to 18 degrees, increasing amounts of cloud, outbreaks of rain and here it is as it moves across the uk. this area of low pressure needs watching, sometimes these low pressures spin up sometimes these low pressures spin up to deliver strong winds around western coast in particular but at the moment it looks as though it will be a very blustery day with some sunny spells and occasional spells of wind and rain. temperatures, because it's an ex—tropical system, still high, 20 in hull, 17 in northern ireland and then gets to take a look at the animation. watch this one, this is pretty big. we are still a long way

off, this is probably another ex—tropical cyclone heading our way but the weather certainly needs watching in the week ahead. some really unsettled weather so pretty much rain icons for the week ahead and there's temperatures not far off the seasonal norm. yes, the weather is changing, autumn really is knocking on the door. thanks for watching.

and protestors around the world mark one year since a young iranian woman died in police custody. hello, i'm helena humphrey. fears are growing for the survivors of the catastophic flood in the libyan city of derna, where there is a lack of medicine and clean water and worries that a cholera outbreak is looming. some international aid has begun to arrive in the city, including an italian ship with tents and blankets and the world health organization says it has delivered medical supplies. up to 11,000 people are known to have died after two dams collapsed, inundating the city with water. thousands more are still missing. the head of the libyan search and rescue efforts has said the operation could take months or even years. 0ur correspondent anna foster is in on the ground in derna and filed this report.
