in the number of foreign nationals by qatar says have been handed over and that hamas' military wing has said in their statement. in the telegram channel, they said 13 israeli hostages as part of this arrangement that has been made, they say seven holders of foreign passports have been handed over to the international committee of the red cross as part of that truce. it's worth saying, the reason we have these different numbers is the deal we've been talking so much about him of the deal that's been done between israel and hamas for 50 hostages to be handed over over a period of four days, that only involves israeli nationals and israeli dual nationals. yesterday we had some additional foreign passport holders. we had time nationals and filipino who were handed over but they were outside the scope of the main deal. so it appears once again today, there are some important

passports, passport holders have been released from gaza or in the process of at least being released. hamas says seven, qatar says for her. we'll keep an eye on those numbers for you. the fact they've been handed over to the red cross that means in practice that means they are through the going through theirjourney out they are through the going through their journey out through they are through the going through theirjourney out through the rafah crossing, you can see that in these continuing life pictures of the rafah crossing. they then pass into egypt and that point they will handed over to is really officials that will then facilitate the transfer back into israel and on israeli soil where they then go to various hospitals and they are reunited with their family members. and we saw today some of those videos that were released by the hospital showing the hostages that were released yesterday actually reuniting with their loved ones for the first time in seven weeks. so we'll continue to keep an eye on those life pictures from the roof

rafah crossing. but of course, these are anxious and nervous times for theirfamily members of are anxious and nervous times for their family members of these hostages, particularly those who do expect their loved ones to be in this group of 50 who were released over the next few days. and they spoke a little earlier here in tel aviv to noam sagi — his 75—year—old mother is being held hostage. he is hoping she will be released soon, and you hear that it is a difficult time to wait. so the last we heard from mum was on the 7th of october at 924 israel time when she was still texting my sister, saying that she see people with rpgs and kalashnikovs outside their house. she went into the safe room and that was the last we heard. the next thing that happened is at 6pm in the evening when the army came in, they only found bloodstains

and she was not in the house. and we didn't heard since. and obviously because of her age, you are hoping that she is going to be included in this deal that is being negotiated over the next few days. that is the hope, isn't it? it is. it is the hope. she is fitting the criteria because of her age, because of her gender to be released. but we're still waiting for good news. so talk me through that that process, because we know that lists are provided and then families are informed. so i suppose for you each day you will be waiting. you've got the phone, you're waiting for a call or a message. is that how it works? so we have a liaison officer for each family and every evening we're waiting for a call to say who is on the list and who is not on the list.

they gave us a call. whether she is on or is not on the list. but up till now, we didn't heard. we're still waiting for tonight's list to be released. itjust you know, it's a torture. it's very intense. the whole family sitting and waiting and biting nails that we don't have and just want to see if she will be on the list. and when the evening comes to an end and the call hasn't happened, you've got to sort of pull back some strength and...wait again for the next day. it's crushing. it is crushing. the expectation gets to 100 and the disappointment gets you back to zero. and you need to rebuild that again. i think we need to stay positive and we need to understand that this is a zero sum game. she is not here. nothing really happens. but we're working so hard. the last 50 days for us is like one long day and we try so many things and we meet so many people and we're talking to you and to so many

of the rally tonight. i just want to show you some life pictures of two key scenes that were watching at the moment. one of them is the 10 one crossing between gaza and egypt because we do believe now from the qatari's that 13 israeli hostages who were being held, handed over this evening who have been held in gaza for seven weeks now, have been handed over to the red cross and that means they are on their way now, making a journey through gaza to the rafah crossing. we are told a number of foreign nationals, foreign passport holders have been also released. some discrepancy in the numbers, hamas have said seven, the qatari's have said four, as it progresses we will now get a more exact idea. main prisoner deal involving israelis and israeli dual nationals will appear to be on their

way now through gaza to be to return to israeli officials. that's why we are seeing life pictures there of the rafah crossing, and also at ofer prison, where there were also be a release this evening. of palestinian prisoners that are being held in israeli jails and ofer prison is one of them. a large israeli detention centre in the occupied west bank. we still believe 39 palestinian prisoners will be released at this evening. again, as a key part of this deal and there is a choreography to this and it's only when the israeli hostages have been handed over to israeli officials that we then see the handover of palestinian prisoners who then can return to their homes and families and loved ones as well. this is the second day of the deal so we saw two releases yesterday, and among the palestinian prisoners who was released from the israeli prison,

earlier to our correspondent lucy williamson and she was telling us the way the people were reacting to the way the people were reacting to the news of the delay from earlier. it was a calm relaxed atmosphere until about 45 minutes ago. now there's many more people arriving here, many more green ms flags and headbands down there were yesterday. it certainly feels a bit more confident energy in the air at the moment. i think the news has got out that people are expecting a second bus—load of prisoners to arrive. really it is quite striking the change in the character of the crowd here. there are still families we've spoken to her waiting for their relatives to arrive. still large groups of young palestinian men, but as i say, the insignia of hamas is really much more present than it was yesterday. and that, you know, something of a statement lined up so close to israel's big prison term a

big security complex where the prisoners are being coordinated before they crossed the checkpoint. lucy, as we speak to you were looking at life pictures, just tell us a little bit more. what do we know about the palestinian prisoners who are due to be released today? we are who are due to be released today? - are told from the list we have received, it seems there are six women and 33 minors. most of those are teenage boys, some of them 18, some of them 16-70, that boys, some of them 18, some of them 16—70, that seems to reflect i think most of the women if this transfer goes ahead as planned, most of the women on that list. six women, we believe, and 33 minors do to come

out. we don't have much information about that at the moment but we will talk to family members. well, here in the uk, organisers of a protest in london calling for a ceasefire in gaza say 300,000 people have taken part. the metropolitan police say that there have now been 18 arrests. protests calling for an end to the bombardment of gaza have been taking place every saturday. before the start of the demonstration, police handed out leaflets warning against the use of words or images that could �*break the law.�* let me show you some life pictures of some key locations we are

watching this evening. it is worth saying, as well, that by this time yesterday it is almost 20 past 11 in the evening now here it is real and gaza, and by this time yesterday the handover of the israeli hostages and also the release of the palestinian prisoners were fully complete. this evening we have seen delays on day two of this deal, hamas earlier said they would delay because they were unhappy about the amount of aid that was moving towards the north of the gaza strip. they said not enough of that was happening. israel disagreed and then qatar sat down to both sides and there was an intensive mediation. and they did reach a resolution. so we know are seeing things progressing but we have seen this delay which is now it's happening more later in the evening. the two locations you're looking at now on your screen are the rafah crossing, where we are waiting to

see those israeli hostages pass through from gaza actually into egypt. we believe they are on their way through gaza now. what will happen is, when they pass through they are facilitated by egyptian officials and then handed over to israeli officials who then bring them back onto israeli soil. and then when that has happened can we see the release of palestinian prisoners, and you can also see on your screen there these life pictures of ofer prison which is inside the occupied west bank. but it is in israeli detention centre. 39 palestinian prisoners will be released this evening. you can just see the camera they're zooming in, giving us a closer look of those life scenes as we wait to see, first of all, the handover of the israeli hostages, then the release of the

palestinian prisoners. it has to happen in that order. that was one of the commitments that was made in this deal, which it was a long time coming, this deal that was mediated by qatar. it took many days and weeks and for israel and hamas to agree on the details of a final deal and what it involves is the cease—fire which began at seven o'clock yesterday morning, it involves that holding, which it is at the moment. the additional increase in humanitarian aid that we've been talking about, the humanitarian crisis you know more than 2 million people living in gaza and we know that even basic items like food and water, medical supplies have been very hard to come by, and under this deal there were additional trucks. by, and under this deal there were additionaltrucks. more by, and under this deal there were additional trucks. more than 200 trucks that passed through the rafah crossing and the other direction, of course, to the other direction the hostages are taking into gaza. —— out of gaza. for trucks of diesel

and trucks of cooking gas are in this queue. palestinians in gaza waiting to receive some of those additional supplies. waiting to receive some of those additionalsupplies. so waiting to receive some of those additional supplies. so there's a to keep planks of the deal and then we have the exchange of israeli hostages in return for palestinian prisoners. at the hostage release part has to come first and then we see the palestinian prisoner release. these are life pictures from the rafa crossing and we can see the emergency vehicles that are starting to pass through the rafah crossing. it's worth saying that it is the red cross that actually facilitate the transfer of those israeli hostages. we know there are some foreign passport holders who have been recently released as well, some discrepancy in the numbers there will only be when they are fully received on the other side of the crossing that we will know for

sure how many foreign passport holders have actually crossed. but certainly 13 israeli nationals are due to be making that crossing today. the neutral intermediary who are the ones who perform that part of the operation if you like. so how mass gives the hostages to the red cross, they are then put into red cross vehicles and driven through gaza, and then out through the rafah crossing into egypt, through this route they can't go directly from gaza into israel. so they come out into egypt first of all. they are processed by israeli officials. there are some key checks as well that are made at the moment that those hostages are handed over, their identities are checked, first of all, before the red cross brings them to rafah. we'll continue to watch the on your screens, the life

pictures of the one crossing where we have seen the movement of some red cross vehicles. let's also talk to our middle east correspondent tom bateman. that happened earlier this evening, we have seen delays to today's exchanges, haven't we? absolutely, a lot of delay- — exchanges, haven't we? absolutely, a lot of delay- lt — exchanges, haven't we? absolutely, a lot of delay. it was _ exchanges, haven't we? absolutely, a lot of delay. it was supposed - lot of delay. it was supposed to happen at 4pm local time, that's what it is in the agreement, we are now, what, seven and a half hours beyond that, so a very very significant delay. and that was being blamed by hamas on the israelis. they claimed that israel have been effectively blocking a certain amount of humanitarian aid from travelling from the south of gaza strip, south of the gaza strip

into the north. israel completely denied that in that briefing with daniel hug ari, the spokesman. he said they are not responsible for the numbers, theyjust stick to the agreement and they are part of the coordination process but it's the united nations that does the actual delivery, of course. so, anyway, the point is, whatever the problem was, they worked it out. and we saw the qatari's delegation actually in israel today, helping with the process of the hostage deal, liaising with the teams on the ground. so that was clearly part of the process and one diplomatic source was telling me earlier that they were talking to all the sides and smoothing things over. and as we now see, the flag of the international committee of the red cross on top of at least three jeeps i can see now, heading at that particular point to 10 one. this has

happened much more quickly than it did yesterday because once we got the notification that the hostages, 13 had been handed over to the red cross from hamas, we're talking about an hour i think yesterday before they appeared at rafah now it has been a lot quicker than that. we don't know the location that the handover takes place, and it may change each day of course, we don't know that. and now we see pictures and one of the vehicles being chased by the media, people with mobile phones getting videos. but clearly this transfer has taken place and the crossing is taking place. it's not entirely clear which part of the crossing thereat there i can't tell if they are on the gaza side or through to the egyptian side. similar to what we witnessed yesterday, as the hostages are being brought through. we don't know in these vehicles if that's the israeli

happened really quickly last night, pretty much as soon as possible there was confirmation on the israeli side we were then seeing the reports that the palestinians had been released. so you would expect that to happen quite quickly after this particular part of the process. there is a fairly speedy part that happened last night at least on the egyptian side, they were then bused, the hostages, to a gate that's on the hostages, to a gate that's on the fence on the egyptian side. the israelis took pictures of the bus going through the fence. we don't have cameras trained on a particular point because it's a military gate and an international border. but i expect they'll go through the same point. in the israelis havejust put out some pictures, care of shalom which is one of the crossings between israel and gaza a facility

was to continue over nine days which potentially it could, you would then see that number released. but it will be 39 tonight because that's three times the 13 israelis. from the palestinian side they have confirmed that's six women and 33 children. what we were saying yesterday is largely teenage boys, 18, 19—year—olds. but again, the framework of this is all about women and children. and that's why we saw on the israeli side, you know, potentially up to 100 that could be eligible to be freed from captivity by hamas, you're talking about 100 women and children we think are held. and that's why, similarly, on sort of the reciprocal part of this, the israelis have been releasing women and children that they hold in their custody, palestinians held in israel or prison. so we would expect
