the coast of sicily. these are the latest developments. there are multiple reports that the latest body recovered from the wreckage is that of the british technology tycoon mike lynch. his 18—year—old daughter remains missing. six people died in the accident and 15 survived. the afp news agency is reporting that the bodies of five missing men have been recovered and brought back to shore. divers are continuing to search the wreckage for the one remaining missing person, helped by remote control vehicles that can be on the sea bed for several hours far longer than the ten minutes than each dive team is allowed at the depth. the yacht lies 50 metres below the surface of the water, apparently largely in tact. rescuers have struggled to get into the cabins where it's thought those who were missing had been sleeping. our correspondent mark lowen is in porticello with more on the search operation. we watch this morning as the fifth

body had been retrieved from the bayesian yacht was put into an ambulance to be taken to the mortuary for identification and postmortem. there were relatives earlier who had gathered on the port there and been consoling each other after the tragedy. let me explain to you what we know and what we don't know and what we can and can't say about the identity because since the capsizing happened on monday, there has been no public statement or press conference held by the time because god authorities. so, all the media are depending on snippets of information that they managed to pick up. there are multiple media reports quoting a postgrad official suggesting that the fifth body was the tech tycoon mike lynch, and that there are no remaining male victims from the disaster. the six remaining body that has not been found, as a woman. we have not been able to state that independently plotted because under italian law, it is

week. during that storm. they go on to say that mr lynch's daughter, hannah, the last person and for after that shipwreck, is still missing. a ministry official said that she may be inside the wreck, or could have been thrown into the sea as the boat sank. so, this is confirmation coming from the reuters news agency, quoting an official, this is the body has been identified by those officials not confirmed by the bbc. we must stress, there's been a lot of reports about the identities of those who have been retrieved from the yacht, but the bbc have been very cautious about what we know and what we don't know and what we can't confirm. but, this is the interior ministry in italy, saying that the body of mike lynch

it's day four and the culmunation of the democratic national convention in the us. in the coming hours, vice—president kamala harris will formally accept the nomination, and deliver her acceptance speech. with many saying the presidential race is too tight to call at the moment, this will be a big test for kamala harris. she's received raucus backing at the convention throughout the week, and party strategists will be hoping this will be her moment to shine. last night, her running mate, tim walz has given a combative address to the convention. mr waltz — who's the governor of minnesota — said that being picked was the "honour of his life". he criticised republican policies, calling them "weird and extreme".
