and, king charles and queen camilla are in australia for their first major foreign trip since the kings cancer diagnosis. sydney opera house is lit up with pictures of them. let's return to our top story, official confirmation from hamas that their leader, yahya sinwar, was killed by the idf in gaza yesterday. just in the last few minutes the uk prime minister saying there was a need for a ceasefire. our analysis editor, ros atkins, takes a look at the footage released by the idf — showing yahya sinwar*s final moments before he was killed. have a listen. this is a video filmed by an israeli drone as it enters the building where hamas leader yahya sinwar was killed on wednesday, and at bbc verify, we have confirmed the location of this building in rafah
4:33 pm
in southern gaza and we have studied satellite imagery of the area. as the drone enters a first—floor room, we see a man sitting in an armchair. he is moving and appears wounded. he waves an object and then for as it apparently at the drone and after this israeli forces killed him. but it wasn't until soldiers returned on thursday that they realise they may have killed the leader of hamas. a dna match later on thursday confirmed this. the building where yahya sinwar was killed is here, in a northern area of rafah, those to gaza's border with egypt. we have established their matching known images and videos of the area with the footage released by israel. also, the sequence of satellite images clearly shows how israeli forces have been operating in the area for weeks. at the end of september, buildings had been destroyed. this video shared on social media last month shows extensive damage, and you can see the building where yahya sinwar would later be found. it appears to be partially destroyed.
4:34 pm
there also appears to be a defensive wall constructed by the israelis, suggesting they had a strong presence in the area. but while israeli forces were in wrapper, the killing of yahya sinwar appears to be as a result of a routine patrol, not a targeted assassination. let's return to the hostage situation. we have heard politicians talking about the opportunities to move forward. we can speak to his niece, efrat machikawa, whojoins me now from jerusalem. thank you forjoining us on the programme. in terms of your reflections in terms of what has happened over the last 2a

moment that we are going to seal a deal and an agreement, a diplomatic agreement for an end of the war and the end of suffering for both sides and the return of all hostages. it has to end. i was very surprised, like many others, but i am still hopeful that the world and the israeli government will know to use this moment, this historical moment, to change what we have been going through for one year and the suffering of all the hostages, the torture, the starvation, the terrible condition, and the war and all the killing around us. this is the killing around us. this is the time to get to an agreement and to bring back home. and i hope that everybody willjoin and do that immediately. i’ll and do that immediately. i'll ask ou and do that immediately. i'll ask you your thoughts about, perhaps, how the international community and the various parties move forward to try to make that happen. but before i do i want to ask you about your

uncle that you were showing pictures of. it was more than just him in terms of family members that were taken. i was also listening to a different family speaking earlier in the day and they were talking about how terrified they were given the events of yesterday. they thought the situation now for the hostages was more dangerous. so, talk to those two things, would you? i agree, we know from _ two things, would you? i agree, we know from the _ two things, would you? i agree, we know from the witnesses - two things, would you? i agree, | we know from the witnesses that came back, we know of the conditions. we heard of the murder of six beautiful young people a week before that. we have buried four members of key they were kidnapped alive. and they're coming back dead. they were asleep in their beds on that moment. my uncle was

child sexual abuse imagery generated by artificial intelligence tools is becoming more available online,
4:43 pm
according to a safety watchdog. the internet watch foundation said the amount of illegal content it had seen online over the past six months had already exceeded the total for the previous year. it also warned that the content is becoming more easy to access with it now being on the open areas of the internet rather than the dark web, where specialised browsers are needed. let's speak to emma hardy from the internet watch foundation, a not—for—profit organisation that detects and removes child abuse content from the internet. thank you forjoining us. tell me more about what is concerning you so much here? the internet watch foundation is... we have documented over two reports of the past year about how thousands upon thousands of ai generated child abuse imagery is found on the dark web and yet we are now
4:44 pm
seeing many many incidences of it appearing on the clear, or open web which we are using for our shopping orfor open web which we are using for our shopping or for children to do their homework on... the figures have already overtaken that of last year. what is concerning is that most of the imagery has been imported to us from the public. we operate a reporting hotline. people are stumbling across this material. it is illegal material and crucially, this material, the technology which creates it, is trained upon real images of real children with beating hearts who have been sexually abused... hearts who have been sexually abused- - -_ abused... yes tell me more about that _ abused... yes tell me more about that because - abused... yes tell me more about that because that - abused... yes tell me more about that because that is l abused... yes tell me more l about that because that is the new really concerning aspect. the ai generation of this. tell me more about what is actually happening and the source of this potentially. it happening and the source of this potentially.— this potentially. it takes seconds- _ this potentially. it takes seconds. if _ this potentially. it takes seconds. if you - this potentially. it takes seconds. if you can - this potentially. it takes - seconds. if you can imagine that you can create it using ai

tools. these tools are trained upon images of real trail run. we are seeing images of known victims of children who are appearing... their likenesses are appearing in al images. we are appearing in al images. we are also seeing children who have been de—closed using ai imagery which is a challenge for any parent who places an images of their children online where it can be harvested. and apps that are specifically trained that are trained on women and girls bodies and canned new defy them. and that is pulling in younger and younger generations that are just thinking it is a bit of a joke to unclothed their peers, but they are also being pulled into the creation of this imagery...

into the creation of this imagery- - -_ into the creation of this imaue , ., imagery... let me 'ust ask how ou imagery... let me 'ust ask how you combat h imagery... let me 'ust ask how you combat it. — imagery... let me just ask how you combat it. half _ imagery... let me just ask how you combat it. half of - imagery... let me just ask how you combat it. half of it - imagery... let me just ask how you combat it. half of it is - you combat it. half of it is coming from usa, russia japan the netherlands, how do you go about combating and does it make it easier that it is not on the dark web? it make it easier that it is not on the dark web?— make it easier that it is not on the dark web? it does make it easier because _ on the dark web? it does make it easier because it _ on the dark web? it does make it easier because it is _ on the dark web? it does make it easier because it is easier. it easier because it is easier to take action. crucially, in the uk it is criminal. there are some loopholes that would be relatively easy legally to close. you might expect an instruction manual to tell you how to create this would be illegal, but it currently isn't. the part that everyone isn't. the part that everyone is watching him play is that if you spot any imagery like this you spot any imagery like this you need to report it to us and we can take it from there. that is very good — we can take it from there. that is very good advice _ we can take it from there. that is very good advice thank- we can take it from there. that is very good advice thank you so much forjoining us on the

programme and explaining the new problem that we are having to combat thank you for your time. let's turn now to the us presidential election and the race for the white house. vice president kamala harris and former president donald trump have been trading insults at stops along the campaign trail ahead of the november the 5th vote. mr trump did so at an annual catholic charity dinner in new york, where presidential candidates traditionally roast each other lightheartedly. ms harris skipped the event, but did submit a video...instead delivering her attacks while campaigning in wisconsin. cbs news correspondent jarred hill has more from new york. there's the potential here that the harris campaign is just making the decision, looking at the numbers, looking at the calculus and saying that it's more important to be in one of these battleground states. wisconsin is where she was instead of appearing in person at this charity fundraiser, this charity dinner that is a tradition for political candidates to go to. although there have been times over the past couple of
