international career was over. hello there and welcome along to the programme. more than 100 elite women footballers have called fifa's sponsorship deal with a saudi oil company a punch in the stomach. they've written an open letter to the sport's world governing body — asking them to end their agreement with saudi aramco. the country is hoping to host a future women's world cup, along with the 2034 men's tournament. but the players want fifa to reconsider the deal on humanitarian and environmental grounds. 0ur sports correspondent katie gornall told my colleague hugh ferris who they are, and why they've decided to take this very public step. 106 players signed a letter from major leaks across europe and north america as well. they

got more than 2300 caps between them and when you read the letter you can get a sense of the strength of feeling they have for this. they say the deal as a stomach punch and the heart the reasons why it is controversial. they point to saudi arabia's poor human rights record, its lack of equality for women. they said the deal is incompatible with fifa climate commitments. they also question how lgbt players in the sport, many whom they say are heroes of women's football can be expected to promote than when homosexuality is criminalised in saudi arabia. what they want is for fifa to drop the deal which was signed earlier this year, a four—year deal with the state owned giant and they want to replace the sponsor with one that aligns more with things that aligns more with things that they valued like gender equality, sustainability and human rights. 0ne equality, sustainability and human rights. one of the

when you win it, it's of course the most important thing in the world. i think i've always scored in the big moments. maybe the consistency of scoring through the season hasn't been there, but i've always given a lot of assists. so my goal contributions have always been high. it's always fun to celebrate goals, and here we have such quality being in the box at the right time. you get chances and then score goals. i think everybody has had tough times. i do football because it's fun. i had lost the spark of the game before. it's a lot of hard work. you don't do it for the big wins, you do it for the everyday work. you have to enjoy that part. and i didn't do that. and now i do. you have interest sense curiosities and you see space and you think it's so cool to be out there. when i was young i felt like this is what i want to do. i never pursued it

but with the nights getting a little longer, and all of the moisture we've had recently, all of that rain, we will have some mist and fog overnight, especially midweek. here is the forecast for the short—term, some quite sharp showers through wales and parts of northern england, but big gaps in the cloud. our temperatures around nine in cardiff, eight in belfast, nine there for glasgow and edinburgh. so expect those showers across central uk for a time on tuesday morning, possibly into lunchtime in the southeast, but then it's sunshine all around, just scattered fairweather clouds. the temperatures, 16 to 17 in the south and the southeast. fresher in the north of scotland, ten or 11. then wednesday morning, watch out for the thick fog across central and southern england, which should clear away through the morning into the afternoon, and then we are left with fine weather, it could be a little cloudy and damp in the western isles. a high of 17 in london, could get 17 or 18 around the moray firth, with
