saying that this drug does work, it is not a cure but it can slow the progression of the disease by a—7 months and that can bite people more time with family. but on the other side of that it has to weigh that decision with the cost of the treatment and one years worth of treatment in the united states costs £25,000 and then you have to add on the extra costs are being monitored in hospital as you are given it. the overall is that the decision is that it will not be offered on the nhs at the moment but it may be available privately. the alzheimer's society says it is disheartened but it expects the cost of the drugs to come down and for them to become more available. firearms officers facing prosecution are to get anonymity up to the point of conviction the home secretary has announced. it comes after

4:57 pm
where the winds will be lighter, but generally speaking it's breezy and milder in the north and the west. we start thursday with variable cloud across scotland, northern ireland, perhaps wales, southwest england. the better chance of seeing some sunshine will be towards central and eastern england and also northern scotland. with this southerly wind, could be quite warm in some sheltered spots around the mid to high teens. similar values for parts of england and wales, so quite mild for the time of year. now, as we head into friday, this area of low pressure will start to bring some wetter and windy weather towards southern and western areas. i think it could be dry with variable cloud, a bit of mist and fog towards eastern areas with lighter winds here. and we'll see this weak weather front spreading north to bring some showery rain. but it will tend to fizzle out. so i think more cloud across northern, central and eastern areas on friday. better sunshine towards the south, but it will be breezier towards the far southwest of england. temperatures maybe a degree or so down because of more cloud around generally around the mid teens. so into saturday we've got our area of low pressure towards the south of the uk that could throw up a few showers into southern england, and we look at a new weather system and the low pressure pushing into scotland and northern ireland. that could bring more
4:58 pm
persistent rain here through the day on saturday. but in between some calmer weather with some sunshine around. temperatures again around the mid teens. generally lighter winds further south. windier further north on a sunday. looks like that weather front weakens across scotland and northern ireland will bring variable cloud. some patches of rain, maybe northern ireland, western scotland for large parts of england and wales, sunday looks quiet with higher pressure close by. we should see some sunshine around. those temperatures can range from around ten to 15 degrees. once we pass monday into next week, it does look like high pressure builds back in, so we should see a lot of dry and settled weather. return of overnight mist and fog.
