could the rugby live up to the introduction? finding spaces at full pace is the essence of the game. this was perfect execution. they led by two points at half—time. england seized their chance from an interception. it was tight. it was so tight. conversion followed this move. if george ford could make this drop goal, it would make a difference. but he missed. the margin of victory was theirs. so near but so far against new zealand once more. so the most narrow of defeats for england against the all blacks again — with australia, south africa and japan to come this month. let's get some more now from joe, who sent us this from west london.
7:33 pm
one has to feel for george ford. a highly skilled player but short of match practice at the moment. he missed the second drop goal. he also missed a tough penalty chance. those 2003 world cup winners talk about last second drop goals. the key in matches against the very best teams — the margin is always going to be tight. can you hold out? can you hold your nerve when it really counts? england here couldn't. this is their third defeat on the trot against new zealand. there is no substitute for experience. and i guess england might say that that this is what they got here again. meanwhile, scotland are ahead against fiji

hello. it remains very quiet on the weatherfront, with rather cloudy skies across most of the uk. just a few breaks there in northern and eastern scotland where there's more of a breeze around this area of high pressure. but for most of us it's been a case of 50 shades of grey. and here's a picture from earlier on on saturday in london — the skyscraper the shard there with its tip inside the cloud at a height of 310m, meaning that the cloud base was around, say, 280, give or take. and we rather appropriately call this "anticyclonic gloom", the word anticyclone, another word for high pressure cloudy, drizzly, but look on the bright side of life, at least it's not raging gales or torrential rain, rather usable weather, if you go out there. it's actually relatively mild, look at the morning on sunday, around ten or 11 celsius. but yes, once again, thick cloud across most of the uk. but look at the breaks there around aberdeen. there'll be a few glimmers of sunshine also across the pennines and perhaps elsewhere. and the temperatures will be about the same, middle of the
