a new allegation of a sexual assault against the former first minister alex salmond, who died suddenly of a heart attack last month. hello, i'm karin giannone. both candidates in the us presidential election are pushing some of their final messages to voters in key states, two days before polling day. trump is currently in lancaster county, pennsylvania, and kamala harris is in east lansing, michigan. they're both holding rallies hoping to secure the battleground states which are all within the margin of error. seven swing states are likely to determine the outcome of this incredibly tight race. here they are. polls show there's little separating the two candidates, so these states could go either way. our correspondent tom bateman

is in lititz, pennsylvania, the town where donald trump has been holding his rally. people heading away now, but what was donald trump's main message today?— what was donald trump's main message today? yes, he spoke for over an _ message today? yes, he spoke for over an hour, _ message today? yes, he spoke for over an hour, many - for over an hour, many thousands for overan hour, many thousands of people queueing from an early morning here who, as you can see it now, streaming out as mr trump concluded his remarks here. he talked a lot about his touchstone issues of the economy and immigration, many of those messages we have heard before. but he spent a good ten minutes or so at the beginning launching into a series of accusations about both the democrats and the electoral voting system here in pennsylvania are specifically. he repeatedly called the democrats cheats, he castigated the system by which there has been early voting in pennsylvania, about 1.7 million votes already cast, as the

population of registered voters of around 9 million, and effectively said the entire system is corrupt. there were a series of accusations he made without any evidence of voter fraud. what his critics say is by making these baseless accusations, they believe he is trying to lay the groundwork for a series of challenges after the election if there is after the election if there is a very close results. that context is really important here because it is very likely, given how close the polls are, there will be several days at least of counting going on. there will be an automatic recount if that vote is within half a percentage point and already the polls are suggesting it may be around that or potentially even closer, so we have the likelihood in pennsylvania here of days or even weeks of recounts possibly, during which mr trump's critics are saying this is about trying to create

an atmosphere of suspicion amongst his voters when it comes to trust in the electoral system. and so his opponents fear they might be a repeat of what happened back in 2020 in terms of notjust trying to challenge the results in terms of the legal system, but trying to undermine the entire system itself. much of the rest of this rally was on those familiar themes i have already talked about, but already we are seeing here, i think because of the closeness of the polls here, the system itself coming into question. and ione wells is in east lansing in michigan, the state where kamala harris is today. she is focusing all her efforts on that one state on sunday, is it true? . , , , it true? that is right, she is spending — it true? that is right, she is spending her _ it true? that is right, she is spending her whole - it true? that is right, she is spending her whole day - it true? that is right, she is spending her whole day in l spending her whole day in michigan and that is because this is— michigan and that is because this is another one of those really— this is another one of those really key swing states and again. _ really key swing states and again, like tom was saying, the polls— again, like tom was saying, the polls are — again, like tom was saying, the
