want to play for chelsea or celtic, they think that's possible and that they can achieve their wildest dreams, so i think it's something i certainly never had eight years ago so it shows how far the women's game has grown in scotland. in wednesday's other matches, galatasar—eye host wolfsburg, with both sides looking for their first win of the campaign. real madrid welcome dutch side fc twente to the spanish capital, while roma face eight—time champions lyon. both sides have two wins from two so far. english football league chairman rick parry says he hopes a "seminal" review of the game by a new independent regulator could help overcome years of deadlock with the premier league. this is over greater financial redistribution. strengthened legislation to establish a body to oversee the elite men's club game was relaunched by the government last month, and begins its second reading in parliament on wednesday.

an improved bill, better still. is it perfect? no. we still i think unhappy, concerned that the regulator doesn't have the powers to intervene. the fan—led review, the government's white paper, the government's white paper, the government's response of the white paper all talked about the government needing powers to intervene and they haven't. but it is workable, and as i said, from our point of view on improvement. in basketball the nba cup returned for a second season following its successful addition to the regular season last year. the cup currently belongs to the la lakers who defeated the pacers to win the 2023 in—season championship. this year, lebron and co have been drawn in a group with the phoenix suns who made a winning start with an eight—point win over the utahjazz. point guard devin booker led the way for the suns with a game high 31 points. booker*s tally included five three—pointers and 15 points

some of the challenges he thinks his successor will face, particularly president obama did that in 2016 over north korea, you will remember. but it's really a process of shaking hands. the problem is these two had some pretty rough things to say about one another when they last met. joe biden said donald trump was a convicted felon with the morals of an alley cat. donald trump is referred tojoe biden himself as a feeble old guy, so i don't expect there to be too much love lost. i do expect that it will be sweetness and light, that is certainly what it was when donald trump came in 2016. ~ ., , , . , in 2016. we are seeing pictures of donald trump _ in 2016. we are seeing pictures of donald trump arriving. - in 2016. we are seeing pictures of donald trump arriving. he i in 2016. we are seeing pictures of donald trump arriving. he is| of donald trump arriving. he is alone, his wife is not with him. we understand she will not be meeting withjoe biden. she laying down a bit of the market here about what the next four years will look like? to

2:54 pm
yes, the detail is a bit thin on the ground, i would say, but in terms of what we know publicly, this will be outside of government so elon musk and vivek ramaswamy won't go through any sonnet confirmation process so they will be effectively consultants or advisors, whatever you want to call it. whether this department itself will have a formal footing, department itself will have a formalfooting, we department itself will have a formal footing, we don't know, but the aim is to cut the chunk out of federal spending. certainly on the campaign trail when asked about this, elon musk put the figure on that of $2 trillion. when you think about the federal budget, it is somewhere in the region of 6.7 5 trillion. so someone who is not very good at maths, that seems to be something like 30% which is an awful lot of spending! donald trump wants them to have done their work and not necessarily achieve the cuts by then but have done what they needed to do by

which has stuck around for much of november is still visible on the weather map on wednesday today, you can see it close to ireland. but to the north, weather fronts are gathering and this heralds a change to our weather pattern, this high pressure will eventually shift and it will turn colder. this is what it looks like for the rest of today, a bit of sunshine but quite cloudy in many other areas and temperatures around 10 degrees for the end of the afternoon. tonight the sky is clear across northern areas, there will be some frost but we are talking about the sheltered glens, rural areas of scotland and perhaps northern england but for most towns and cities it will be six to 10 celsius so not particularly cold tonight. tomorrow starts grey and gloomy with drizzle in some spots, but sunshine developing through the morning into the afternoon and it's more or less the same. temperatures not bad at all in some spots, could be ia degrees in belfast, around

ii for most. similar weather conditions for friday, the winds are still coming from the south—west sp relatively mild air but to the north—west of scotland this is a cold front, and the other side of this we have the colder air ready to sweep across the uk, so this weekend it will be turning colder, cold enough for wintry showers across the scottish hills but not anywhere else. through the weekend, low pressure across scandinavia, with the cold fronts sweeping across the uk. showers and sunshine expected almost anywhere and the colder air digs in further south, pushing the milder air we have had for a while towards the south. once that cold air establishes across the uk, next week we expect frosts pretty much anywhere across the uk away from coastal areas. these are the daytime temperatures, you can see how they gradually ease through the next few days into next week but there will be sunshine around, but
