into a world cup so it was just a reminder that playing for england is really special and for me personally is one of the greatest things i do as a professional footballer and i will always try and do it whenever i am available. unlike in athens, harry kane will start against ireland and he is someone who sets a high standard with his goal return for bayern munich the rest of his career and lee carsley said his return to the england 11 is notjust because of what he can do in front of goal. that is the obvious one but not only with harry kane, you always think goal is what he brings a lot more to the squad and team than that, his leadership skills, he is a good guy which is really important as well and the example he sets to younger players, he is a crucial part of the england team and moving forward, i'm looking forward to seeing him again tomorrow. lee carsley*s spell as interim manager started against ireland and will finish against ireland, and he will hope his

eyes are smiling. chelsea are the new leaders of the women's super league — maintaining their perfect start to the season with a two—nil win over manchester city. there wasn't initially a great deal of excitement to engage the likes of usain bolt but two goals in five minutes changed all that. first mayra ramirez shrugged off the city defence to slide chelsea in front for her third goal of the season. city were on the back foot thereafter with guro reiten curling in number two. chelsea leapfrog city at the top of the table with sonia bompastor the first manager to win their first seven games in the wsl. earlier today arsenal continued their good form under interim boss renee slegers as they beat tottenham 3—0 in the north london derby. ben croucher reports. already off the pace in the women's super league, this has not been the season where arsenal have been strong starters.

this is derby day, though, on tottenham turf where it is best to hit the ground running. how early? one minute, three seconds, arsenal's fast school in wsl history, alessia russo finding space. not much to aim for. picked her spot. spurs finding fleeting moments occasionally stretching arsenal but remaining 2—0 at the break even if not everyone could work out how. with tottenham going into the game, a third would put arsenal beyond reach. stina blackstenius more over than out of sight but the warning signs tottenham did not heed. and then the swedish international did not need asking twice with a second chance. it is not fun to lose a few games but especially today for the fans because i feel like we

want to play for them in today we made them disappointed. we felt this was under control, i looked at the away section, fantastic, and this was really a moment of almost mindfulness and taking it all in, and just very happy about that. the players are creating on the pitch, altogether and then also with the fans in the background, so it was a nice little moment. for the interim boss renee slegers, a fifth win from six, still unbeaten. as starts go, not bad but whether her role becomes more prominent is yet to be seen. let's have a quick look at some of the day's other sports stories. rory mcilroy is in a three way tie for the lead, on 12 under par at the world tour championship. he needs to finish inside the top 11 tomorrow to win a sixth race to dubai title — and be crowned the dp word tour's number one player. taylor fritz beat germny*s alexsander zverev in three sets, in the semi—finals of the season ending atp finals in turin. the american will play the winner of tonight's other semi, between top seed jannick sinner and

series got under way today in manchester, with england hosting jamaica in the first of a four match series. and the roses had to settle for a draw as a dramatic last—second goal denied them victory. let 5 get more from lindsey chapman and serena guthrie. test one of the horizon series here in manchester, all done and dusted and a draw for the first game, could not have been closer, serena guthrie, what a game we had. england and jamaica both came to play. what a finish. i'm still stunned by this game, i really thought the roses would start to creep ahead and just keep a bit of daylight between them and the jamaicans but full credit to the jamaicans, their defence stood up, we've spoken about the ability to bring other people into the game.
7:41 pm
the end quarter really set the series up. the next three games. first of four games. two in manchester, two injamaica, talk about defensive units for the jamaican side who play together out in australia, professional netball together and we can see that on the way they work together with the england side really having to push through the defence. you can see the high level of trust that there are in the unit. it didn't matter if there were five or six down. they were able to come out and win a clean ball which they did and it made it really difficult for england to get that ball through so both teams will have to go back tonight, have a look at their homework and see where the i% is to bring tomorrow for the game because i cannot see this getting any... it will not get any easier. it will only get tougher. looking back across the game, the first half really belonged to england, they were up at the half—time point but the second half, those last two quarters really
7:42 pm
belonged to jamaica so what do england have to change if they want to force the win? how we open up a court against a very rangy athletic unit in the back. when we are able to do that, we can see it pop out on the one baseline and running across the base and getting the ball is in so we have to open up those angles in order to access the shooters so we have to make sure that it is good and we are accurate with that and we have to let the ball go. when you stop letting the ball go, you have to access it and when we play tight in the final, that pleasing enter jamaica's hands. you have to open them up, stretch the defensive unit if we are going to have success. some changes to be made into tomorrow's game so trying to squeeze a win and what a game we had for either side today. firms and a draw, so much more to come.

—— ends in a draw, so much more to come. the motogp title fight will go down to the final race of the season after francesco bagnaia beat championship leader jorge martin in the sprint race in barcelona. the weekend was originally scheduled to take place in valencia, but was moved to catalonia following the devastasting floods that have claimed more than two hundred lives. nick parrott reports. the thoughts of everyone in moto gp are with the people of valencia. it is where the season traditionally ends but there was no option other than to move to barcelona where all profits will be donated to help those affected by the floods. victory in the sprint race for jorge martin would see him... for the first time but he started from fourth while his only opposition was right in front of him on pole, bagnaia. meanwhile the spaniard got stuck into a battle for second place that at times looked a little too close for comfort. he finally made a move stick

and looked set to stay there until the final lap. despite finishing third, he will go into the grand prix 19 points clear. it will be difficult to recover 19 points so we will do our maximum and in any case i enjoy a lot the weekend and getting the maximum is what i prefer to do so really fast from the first section and this is what is making me more happy. usually just the top three spray champagne but finishing ninth tomorrow will be enough for martin to celebrate being champion. now, to the much hyped return to the ring of mike tyson. the two—time former heavyweight champion of the world came out of retirement to face youtube starjake paul in texas on friday. but some fans were left disappointed with the fight which never sparked in to life. joe lynsky reports. mike tyson! in the mike tyson story, this was perhaps the strangest chapter. heading back to the ring at 58 years old to

face a youtube entertainer. this is jake paul, who, with 70 million online followers, had built a fight on curiosity, could the old head of a champion match the young heart of a dreamer? but after the build—up, they barely came to blows. this fight had been scheduled to take place injuly when tyson pulled out with a stomach ulcer. there are still fears for his health and jake paul did not push it. in eight two—minute rounds, he landed more punches, one at one point but it was all underwhelming. there was a point where i was like, 0k, he is not engaging back. i could tell that his age are showing a bit and ijust have so much respect for him
7:46 pm
but i did not want to hurt someone i did not need to hurt. paul had won a fight live streamed on netflix but better value entertainment came from the support act. ireland's katie taylor faced amanda serrano, two of the great female boxers in a rematch for the title. taylor won it on points but this, too, was controversial. so close was the scoring, it is set up for a third fight. at the end, they came together, having to focus through the build—up. this was a night in dallas that showed the two sides of a sport. that preview some rugby now, shall we? france face the all blacks later tonight — you can follow that on our website — bbc. co. uk/sport. then tomorrow all eyes will be on wales against australia. the pressure is on warren gatland, as his side aim to halt a record run of defeats. the wallabies meanwhile head into sunday's test at the principality stadium in confident mood.

ceri coleman—phillips reports. a record is looming over wales this weekend but it is one warren gatland hope they will not break. should they lose... it will be 11 test losses in a row, something that has never happened before. assistant coach neiljenkins as they are out to right some wrongs. it hurts. there is no way to raise about it. i would not be sat here if it did not hurt me or if i do not care i would not be here. it matters greatly and deeply that we are successful and on the right track. we will not win every game, we know that, but as these games go on we know we are more than capable of winning them. the wallabies going to sunday's games as favourites, beating

wales twice and impressing last weekend. the side also have a decent record in cardiff winning nine from their last 11 visits. warren gatland named his team earlier this week and has made for starting changes. they are feeling the pressure but have been working hard in camp this week. we have the ability to turn around, it is momentum and we are just having some luck going our way and like i say staying on for the hallmark so as long as we stick together and play together, anything can happen. anything can happen. the players arejust going through final preparations. this is an experienced size compared to the one at the rugby world cup. gatlin*s young charges did show a glimpse of what they are capable of in

the opening quarter. the wallabies know all too well how to win in the welsh capital. and finally, next week will be another big leap in the career of olympic champion bryony page. after becoming the first british athlete to win gold on the trampoline at the paris games, she's now setting her sights onjoining a world famous circus. mike bushell has more. defying gravity time after time, facing the same g forces as astronauts and formula i drivers. back in training in poole, dorset, three months on from a historic moment when she became the first british gymnast ever to be crowned a champion
7:50 pm
in trampoline. still in shock. i know it has happened and have a medal to prove to myself but cannot process how it has happened and that it actually has because when i was a kid, you have a dream you can be an olympic champion, it was not one of those things that 0lympians felt like there are superheroes and then going to an 0lympics i felt like i was not a superhero, just a... it meant she was picked to carry your country's flag at the closing ceremony as well. it is a small sport and to be recognised at the olympics it is so big for trampolining. bryony now has an olympic medal of each colour. she got silver in rio in 2016 and broadens four years later.
7:51 pm
she finally struck gold at the age of 33 in paris. it is better than three golds, having a complete set feels nice and it is quite poetic with the trampoline because i went silver, down to bronze and bounced back up to gold. it all started on a space hopper on the garden trampoline before parents thought it was far too dangerous and got rid of it so it was via gymnastics that bryony got into the sport age nine and what makes herjourney since then more remarkable is the injury she has had to overcome and in her late teens the sporting yips, a sudden and unexplained loss of the ability to execute certain skills. i had no confidence in my ability with the trampoline with my body making weird decisions and my brain not catching up and it took a lot of years to get all of the skills back i had before. sometimes still there, it is a fear level, the trampolining is not... you have to be brave, or stupid or crazy, to do it so it makes it more special that you kind of...
7:52 pm
if you've gone through challenges and been able to overcome them, and reach that point and pinnacle of the sport makes it so much more special than if it was an easy ride. bryony page feels she has another olympics in her, in la in 2028 but before that you want a different challenge and has always dreamt of following other athletes who have gone on to join the circus and perform in the cirque du soleil so she is heading to canada this month to give it a go and learn some of the skills you need on the tour next year. when i train with a crowd and compete with a crowd i see it as a performance just as much as a competition so i would love to... i love that side of it being a performing side with the costumes and make—up and the set, the music, the team and the crowd so i love the idea of performing in a show and using trampoline in a different way so i would absolutely love to do that and plan a would be to do that then come back for the la 0lympics, so that is the big next challenge is to do both as well as make it into cirque du soleil and likely shows. seeing it on tv is one thing but when you're
7:53 pm
in the same airspace is one thing but when you're in the same airspace as olympic champion like briony here, —— in the same airspace as olympic champion like bryony here, it is jaw—dropping because you can absorb the power and the forces of nature, looking at the height and every time she lands, the impact of ten times her body weight pushes up from the trampoline. it is no wonder given all this that bryony page need some that bryony needs some downtime when away from the trampoline. i love games. my younger brother got me a game called flame craft it is about artisan dragons. it is very nerdy but monopoly is banned in ourfamily because even if you when you feel bad for winning. 0ne place bryony page would not feel at winning is los angeles and adding another collection to our medal collection by adding another medal to her collection. at the age of 37.
7:54 pm
i feel better now than in my early 20s. i love the feeling of flying through the sky and spinning and turning. the g forces we get, ijust still love what i do and cannot imagine doing anything different at the moment whilst i can still do it. you gave me an idea now, trampolining costumes on the strictly dance floor. eventually. wouldn't that be something? _ when you finish cirque du soleil... i would love that so if you can get a word in. good luck to her. before we go, just time to recap our top story and england's rugby union side have suffered another defeat, their fifth in a row, going down 29-20 to fifth in a row, going down 29—20 to south africa at twickenham. in the football wales drew 0—0 in the nation's league with turkiye. that's all from sportsday. we will see you next time.
7:55 pm
hello again. up to now it's been a very mild november, but all that is changing. it's going to be getting colder over the week ahead for all of us. and that means frosts more widely. and for northern parts of the uk in particular, the risk of some snow and some ice. and it's all because of this deep area of low pressure, is moving away into scandinavia. and following on from that, the winds are coming down from the north, from the arctic, pushing down into the uk. and those colder winds have arrived already in scotland. the winds are easing overnight, but we'll see more wintry showers over the hills in the north of the country. some clear spells elsewhere as that cloud and rain clears away from southern parts of england and wales will still be a few showers to where we have the lighter winds and clearer skies. in eastern scotland and north east england
7:56 pm
there'll be a "frost. temperatures could be as low as minus three celsius, but it should start bright and sunny here. it won't be as windy in scotland as it's been today, but we'll see showers developing and again there'll be wintry over the hills in the north. cloud, probably building across other parts of the uk. most of the rain affecting northern ireland moving into wales and the northwest of england. temperature wise, probably going to be a couple of degrees lower than today. quite a significant and noticeable change for the midlands in particular. we've still got double figure temperatures, though, in the far southwest in that milder air mass. but it's colder air elsewhere. and along the boundary between those two, you get a weather front. and this deepening area of low pressure that's going to run into the colder air and bring the risk of snow later on monday and monday night. but during the day, more wintry showers continuing across northern scotland, cloud tending to build elsewhere, bringing with it some outbreaks of rain, wetter weather arriving in northern ireland as that area of low pressure approaches and it bumps into that colder air. so as we head into monday evening, we're going to find the rain turning to snow across some parts of northern ireland,
7:57 pm
but more especially overnight, into southern scotland and northern england. this is where we've got the greater risk of disruption. there is a yellow weather warning at the moment with the heavier snow over the hills. of course, we've also got that snow across the far north of scotland. snow in northern england, southern scotland could continue into tuesday morning before that. low pressure then moves away. but we're still left with this northerly wind well into next week, bringing colderair and some more wintry showers.
