next. hello there. it's staying cold through the rest of this week. there's a risk of some further snow and icy conditions. have a look at the satellite picture. this area of cloud here could head towards the south west of england and bring some wintry weather by the morning, but today most of the wintry showers are coming in on that northerly wind, which is why it feels so cold. even if you've got the sunshine. and many places will be dry this afternoon but temperatures are 3 to 5 degrees. feeling a lot colder down the east coast of england, where the rain, sleet and snow that we're seeing here is going to move away this evening. more snow showers inland across northern scotland overnight. a few wintry showers get pushed into northern ireland over the irish sea. icy conditions here too, and a wintry mix arrives in the far southwest of england. it's going to be another cold night. temperatures similar to last night, another widespread frost. but this time we have this area of low pressure here. and whilst it's going to bring

most of the rain and snow into france and a lot of snow to the alps, we're just going to catch the tail end of that, which is why we could see a couple of centimetres of snow over the hills in the south west of england. more snow showers overland across scotland developing a bit more widely. stronger winds for western scotland, blowing some wintry showers to northern ireland and again over the irish sea. eastern parts of england, lighter winds than today. it will be dry and sunny, but it's still going to feel cold. and if anything, temperatures in the south and southwest are a little bit lower than today with that cloud and wintry weather too. that should be moving away overnight. still got cold air though as we arrive into friday. another widespread frost. some icy conditions following earlier showers. those showers near the east coast and stronger winds should move away. the winds do become lighter. on friday, many places will be dry and quite sunny. still cold, mind you. temperatures mayjust creep up a little bit though across england and wales and also northern ireland. but big changes to come over

the weekend because this deepening area of low pressure is going to be steaming in from the atlantic. it could be the next named storm of the season. it's going to bring with it some very windy weather moving into saturday. it's going to bring with it some heavy rain and, just for a while, there could be some snow all the way from the vale of york northwards into scotland. snow lifting onto the hills. and that's because milder air is going to be heading in slowly but surely through the day. temperatures up to 1a or 15, perhaps, in south wales and the southwest of england.
