we've had repeated very serious incidences at the kerem shalom, kerem shalom crossing, and this has meant that we haven't been able to safely facilitate aid in. and when i say that, i mean, not only does the supplies not reach the intended population and the people here who need absolutely everything, but also the safety of our staff, we are having truck drivers who are being killed and injured, um, you know, humanitarians who are trying to, to distribute this aid and collect this aid are in in very significant danger. so, you know, yesterday we didn't receive aid the day before. the day before. the reality on the ground is this decision doesn't actually prevent any aid coming in, because we're not having anything to be prevented. it's being looted. but what it does do is try and provide some safety to our staff because they are risking their lives every day going to this crossing.
2:03 pm
let's speak to georgios petropoulos, head of gaza unocha office. how critical is this crossing? what we are looking out after so many months of attempts to bring in aid, we simply can't get gaza aid into the south. that is where most of the displaced population live. most of them are in desperate need.
