the new york police department said... in midtown manhattan earlier this morning 50—year—old brian thompson the ceo of united healthcare was shot and killed in what appears at this early stage of our investigation to be a brazen, targeted attack. this does not appear to be a random act of violence. the victim was in new york city to speak at an investor conference and it appears the suspect was lying in wait for several minutes and as the victim was walking to the conference hotel, the suspect approached from behind and fired several rounds, striking the victim at least once in the back and at least once in the right calf. many people past the suspect but he appeared to wait for his intended target. the suspect fled first on foot and then on an e—bike and was last seen in central park on center drive early this morning.

0n on an 0nane on an e bike let's look at what that manhunt looks like it let's me to the former us secret service agent barry, thank you forjoining us. in one sense, this government had quite a bit of intelligence about the c0's movements, brian thompson's movements but on the other hand it does not seem to have planned is getaway very well. ., ~ have planned is getaway very well. . ~ , ., ., have planned is getaway very well. . ~ ., ., well. thank you for having me on the and — well. thank you for having me on the and my _ well. thank you for having me on the and my condolences i well. thank you for having me on the and my condolences to j on the and my condolences to the victim's family. to me, this does look like an assassination. and he did have assassination. and he did have a planned way out, he waited for the victim to appear where he thought he would appear and he thought he would appear and he used a spot to go through an alley that goes to a building and then went on an e bike to go to central park. i think this was planned because central park simply has less video cameras and that back that he is wearing on his back probably contains another

weapon along with clothing that he can change out of in central park may be in the woods where no one can see him on video and then come out at another place where he may have already preconditioned, pre—look where to find where he can leave without being on video so i believe he did plan the escape, very well planned out and we may see them on surveillance video may be earlier in the day planning this assassination or even a day before and i'm sure nypd is looking at all of that right now. nypd is looking at all of that right "ow-— right now. they say they are doinu right now. they say they are doing something _ right now. they say they are doing something called - right now. they say they are doing something called a . right now. they say they are i doing something called a video canvas, what is that? fix, doing something called a video canvas, what is that?— canvas, what is that? a video camera -- — canvas, what is that? a video camera -- canvas, _ canvas, what is that? a video camera -- canvas, they- canvas, what is that? a video camera -- canvas, they will. camera —— canvas, they will look at every single video that has this man escaping and that some some of it will be new york city even traffic light cameras, anything the city government will have, telephone polls, light polls along with commercial cameras, there are

banks they will see him are and it will take some time to figure him out since he fled into central park which is many city blocks to the north and south that he could've come out on and he could sleep and be hunkered down in the park. i'm sure there's a massive manhunt in the park itself the city park rangers doing a canvas inside of there, looking for him, a massive search. but they are looking at every video possible that they can pick up yet another trace of where he may have gone from central park. ., ., ~ may have gone from central park. . ., ~ ., park. can we talk about the wea on park. can we talk about the weapon and _ park. can we talk about the weapon and what _ park. can we talk about the weapon and what that - park. can we talk about the weapon and what that tells | park. can we talk about the - weapon and what that tells you as an expert? it appears to have malfunctioned, but that he got it to work and shot the victim more than once in the back. is there something from the shell casings, the silencer that was on the weapon that tells you something about him? yes. it tells me probably he may have even made that silencer himself. he knew that

government —— gun would only shoot one set a time but that is a semi automatic garden it should shoot every time you pull the trigger so it looks like he practised doing this and i don't think he is a trained assassin or a former police officer orformer trained assassin or a former police officer or former member of the military were any kind of the military were any kind of a trained assassin, i think he did his homework and knows how to use a gun, but he basically picked a gun that misfires every time he pulled the trigger and he knew that and cycles the weapon after every shot i even watch the video a couple of times i noticed that the gun did not fire even after cycling it, so he seemed to practice it and have a bad set up on a gun that really does not work with the silencer attached to it. but he seems to be very determined in his message and getting that done. i don't think anyone else knew what happened other than the one witness that you see in the one witness that you see in the video on the right because he effectively silenced the
