hello and welcome to sportsday — i'm lizzie greenwood—hughes. here are the headlines: a day of comebacks in the premier league — chelsea are the big winners at a disappointed tottenham. while at fulham, they'll take a draw against arsenal. celebrations in abu dhabi as lando norris drives mclaren to their first contractors�* title for more than a quarter of a century. and it's a new season and new tricks for snowboarding's half pipe world cup opener. so, welcome to the programme. we're starting with football

and the premier league where there's been a lot to talk — about the late —— the late kick—off in particular. an extraordinary game between tottenham and chelsea. spurs, who've been far from consistent this season, looked to be cruising at 2—0 up and dominating after just 11 minutes. but it didn't take chelsea long to stage their comeback, jadon sancho scoring chelsea's first, then cole palmer netted two penalties before enzo fernandez made it four. spurs got a consolation in added time but it was all too late. 4—3 the final score leaving chelsea second in the table, four points behind leaders liverpool. all in all, i think even first half we were in control of the game and when you conceded goals like we conceded it is not easy but the reaction from the players, mentally strong. we continue with the plan on and off the ball and at the end i think we deserved to win the game. so, a 4th league win in a row for maresca, consistency spurs can only dream of this season. they're a good side,

they're a top quality team. i thought we more than matched it with them in that department but when you have quality out there you are always going to create moments. like i said, we gave two penalties away so there are two goals so i think there was something we could have done betterfor sure but i thought, you know, it was a pretty good game of football in terms of the quality out there. but like i said in the critical moments unfortunately we let ourselves down. arsenal missed the chance of going above chelsea after only managing a draw at fulham. they too had to come from a goal down and could have won it two minutes from time, but bukayo saka's header was disallowed for an offside in the build—up. the draw means arsenal are six points behind leaders liverpool, having played a game more. it's been a tough, tough week. in eight days you play aginst tottenham, brighton and arsenal. a really tight, and the energy

of the players they spent was really high, high, high. but they have been really great. the momentum is here for us, all of us, we have to be proud of the season so far, but we arejust in the beginning of december and much more fight to come and we have to be able to respond really well. very disappointing not to win the game because i think overall we absolutely dominated the game from the start to the end, with our other things that we wanted to do in the game. unfortunately conceded one goal in one shot but the way the team played, the way the team wanted to win, it was unbelievable and very unfortunately, four millimetres, you win or not win in this league and that's the disappointing tonight. bournemouth are up to 8th after a dramatic, late comeback at ipswich. it was a bitter blow for the home side who were winning i—nil until the 87th minute and on course for their first home win in the league all season. but they went on to lose it 2—1 and stay four points from safety in the relegation zone.

there was also a stunning late comeback at leicester. 2—0 down in the 86th minute against brighton, when captainjamie vardy scored and then assisted the equaliser in added time. the result means leicester's ruud van nistelrooy is yet to lose a game in england as a manager. we're humble. we know where we are. we know that the premiership for us is leicester city is a tremendous league to survive in and, yeah, our objective is clear and we keep fighting for that. west ham united say michail antonio, who was seriously injured in a car crash on saturday, has undergone surgery on a lower limb fracture. the striker, who's the club's all time premier league goal scorer, had to be rescued from his car after the incident in essex. west ham have said he's due to remain in hospital over the coming days. manchester united's sporting director dan ashworth has left his role after just five months. united say the decision was by mutual agreement. the club is currently 13th in the table after

a disappointing season. they sacked manager erik ten hag in october afterjust three wins from their opening 9 premier league matches. that cost them over 10 million pounds in pay—offs, while the cost of the release clause to bring in his replacement — ruben amorim was 11 million. onto formula one now and mclaren have won the constructors�* championship for the first time in 26 years. on the final day of the season at the abu dhabi grand prix, lando norris took the race victory which meant that despite ferrari finishing second and third, it wasn't enough to stop the british team taking the title by 14 points. nick parrott reports. the last time mclaren won the constructors�* title, lando norris wasn�*t even born. he started from pole in abu dhabi and so long as he stayed in front, his team would become champions. but things started to go wrong at the first corner — his teammate oscar piastri hit by world champion max verstappen. charles le clerc of title rivals ferrari carved his way

through the field. he�*d surged from 19th to third behind teammate carlos sainz. one slip from norris and the title would be heading to italy, but the briton held his nerve and took the chequered flag for the fourth time this season. to end the season like this is perfect so just to congrats and a big thank you mclaren, everyone in mclaren, everyone in papaya, everyone who supported us this year, because it�*s been a tough one but for us to win a constructors after 26 years is pretty special. congratulations first of all to mclaren. they deserve this championship. they've been rocksolid in the last two—thirds of the championship and they've been incredible, from our side, i think we can be proud of the effort and the championship we put together. it has been a tough year but definitely a year we need to be proud of.

on the podium 15 times but never won. that�*s it from me and the sportsday team. there�*s much more on the bbc sport website and app, but from me, for now. goodbye. hello there. thousands of homes are still without power, particularly across northern ireland, thanks to storm darragh over the weekend, and with all the rain that fell over the weekend, and for the past few weeks, the ground does remain saturated, river levels running very high, so we have dozens of flood warnings still in force up and down the country. hopefully, though, those numbers will go down as we head into the new week, thanks to high pressure, which will build, and that will bring lots of dry weather, very much needed dry weather, to our shores, but it will turn colder, with overnight frost and fog making a return. high pressure already toppling into the north of the uk

to start the new week, so, monday, cold, frosty, but bright and sunny, with light winds across scotland and northern ireland, a bit of early mist and fog around, but as we move across england and wales, we�*ve still got the influence of the remnants of what was storm darragh, so still quite breezy. a fresh east—northeasterly breeze could feed in a few showers, south—east england, down towards the channel islands. we could see a bit of sunshine breaking through here and there, but it will stay breezy, much lighter winds across the north, where we�*ve started off very cold and frosty. temperatures struggling to get much above three or four degrees in a few spots in scotland. otherwise, it�*s seven to nine celsius for england and wales, but factor in the northeasterly breeze, it will feel quite raw. as we head through monday night, we�*ll see that cloud continuing across england and wales, streaming in off the north sea, with maybe a few showers running through the channel. that will stop temperatures from falling much below two to seven celsius for england and wales, but it�*s a very cold night to come for scotland and northern ireland,

with quite a hard frost, down to —5, —6 celsius, and some freezing fog. into tuesday, that area of high pressure begins to exert its force across the country. it�*s a cold, frosty start in the north, plenty of sunshine, early mist and freezing fog. more cloud again for england and wales, the breeze beginning to ease, but still a feature through the channel. maybe the odd shower, but mostly dry at this point, but it could be quite grey and gloomy in the south throughout the day on tuesday. another chilly day to come here, but cold in the north, struggling to get much above freezing across parts of scotland. our area of high pressure dominates the scene through the week, just a few weather fronts spinning around it could affect the northern isles at times, and by the time we reach friday, into next weekend, it looks like low pressure will start to push into northern and western areas off the atlantic. but the run—up to them, much of the week will stay dry, cloudy in the south, sunnier in the north, and it will remain cold for all of us. take care.
