sunshine now and again. temperatures down a degree or to but still mild with temperatures around 11 to 13 celsius. the big journey home for some of you afterwards for boxing day and also into friday, we will see dry conditions for england and wales but please be wary, they could be dense patches of fog around. rain at times, nothing disruptive though to take us to the second half of christmas week. into the weekend it will turn cooler but a little bit brighter but i can't leave you without a little bit of snowfall. let me take you to the balkans, the only sport in europe with snow. something we will have to dream of. thank you. that's it from us. it is time now for the news where you are. goodbye.

good evening from bbc london and a very warm welcome. "get into gear and give back this christmas" — that was the message from one cycle group, as around 100 volunteers took to the streets of london, delivering donated supplies, including hot food and clothes, to some of those sleeping rough during the festive period. and the christmas rideout was also supported by some very young enthusiasts. jessica ure has the story. on this rainy night in camden, 100 people, many meeting for the first time, have come together to support the homeless. and nothing could dampen these spirits. and this only happens once a year, once every christmas, and everybody helps the homeless. they go on a big bike ride around the city. i have everything i need, but other people don't. some people, they need things. they need help. each letter corresponds to an area in london you're going to be going tonight.
10:33 pm
they've been brought together by campaigner verrall. all year round, he uses bikes to drop donated supplies to people sleeping rough. but tonight is extra special. my dad is, um, had a bike group. and today we're out. here for the homeless. different groups set out for different boroughs, taking food, clothes and even presents. merry christmas! thank you, sir. all right? playing cards. with a typical outreach, when you support someone who is homeless, um, you can only really cover as much ground as you can on foot. cars restrict you from going into certain spaces as well. with a bike, you can go to various locations very fast. you know these christmas cards? these are from the kids from the primary school. they write notes for you. it's been a good turnout and the group, um, have covered a lot of ground tonight, which is lovely. and, yeah, i hope to hear that not many people were out tonight. they were put into hostels and stuff, especially because of the cold weather.
10:34 pm
but, hopefully, if we do come across, if my team do come across people while they were riding around in london, helping people in the different boroughs, that they did get the support with the proceeds that we had tonight. which is an incredible thing to do, really. and i'll be frank with you. at the time, i said to amy, what on earth do you think you're doing? and she said, don't worry about it, dad. i'm looking after her and she's going to be all right. merry christmas! the message from these riders is simple — from big screens, small screens, the theatre and suddenly i was working with them, terrified. to make what is it?
