have been affected in the north. chris wood from aa roadside patrol in harrogate gave us his best advice for drivers out in the snowy conditions. so the biggest advice is plan your route. you know, we've got aa route planner that we're asking people to check before you head out. obviously, there is a lot of delays and diversions on the road today, and so just plan your route before you go and try to stick to the major routes, which are now getting gritted and ploughed. and a lot of the minor minor routes are still,

you know, quite heavily blocked with snow. and so they are quite treacherous. so yeah, it's a case of stick to the major routes where you can do. so if you do go out and as you said, stick to the main routes, what is the advice in terms of driving in this sort of weather? so first of all it's making sure your vehicle's ready for it. prepared for it. so clear all the snow from your vehicle. if it's iced over, make sure it's completely de—iced. your screens are completely misted, so you've got full visibility. make sure your lights are working as well. make sure they're switched on with this weather. you know you want to be visible. actually driving in the weather, you just want to take it as nice and steady as possible. you know, really, really cautious. give yourself plenty of stopping distance. i mean, in snow and ice, your stopping distance can be up to ten times more than what it normally is. so just going really, really cautious. use it. if you're in a manual vehicle, using your gears to slow yourself down. and if you're in an automatic, a lot of these vehicles have actually got snow and ice mode on them, which will help you drive your will help you drive in these conditions. let's go live now to west yorkshire, and our correspondent nicky schiller who's there for us. how are things are looking? the

the presidential residence, where you can see protestors once again gathered, both in support and opposition to president yoon. there are a lot of police there out in force. woongbee lee is editor of bbc korean. he told me about the attempts to arrest the former president. on friday, the coi investigators went to the possession palace to try and execute the arrest warrant it but due to the political severity service and the military personnel in the presidents office than against them, making human walls and for that reason, the coi a could not enter and execute is the arrest warrant. after hours of stand off, the coi has sound of —— could have the arrest warrant citing percent over the safety of people and their officers. since then, they have been as you mention, bright is going on in front of the president's office with both the supporters of the presses and the opponents are calling for a quick arrest of the president. just explain what he would be arrested because of, just explain with what happen of the martial law and what the

arrest warrant actually says. the president has declared martial law on december the 3rd and the coi as national assembly called it illegal, saying that was an act of insurrection and fight an arrest warrant for the president and the coi, they issued was to investigate that before going into the impeachment process which will take more than 180 days for the results to come out. so, for this warrant issued, it was to investigate what by the president played in martial law. who are these officials protecting him? presumably, they are being paid for by somebody, by him personally, or how does it work in terms of these people stopping the officials turning up to try and arrest him? it is the presidential security service, a government body, that has always been there and the official reason, mentioned by the chief of the pss today, is that there are still some legal

argument around whether this arrest warrant is due or not and that is why the pss say they are standing firm on the ground to fulfil their duty of protecting the president. where is the acting president in all of this? the acting president is still in place and he has been requested by the opposition party to make more firm request to the presidential security service to abide to the investigators arrest warrant, however the pss, the political security service, is still saying the same thing that the current president, president yoon suk yeol*s arrest is still debatable. now it's time for a look at today's sport with hugh ferris.

1:25 pm
she says that of the 20 recommendations included in that final inquiry report, the previous government, ie the conservatives, failed to fully implement a single one. so that's her response to why labour are not holding a national inquiry. they say, well, there already was one. it took seven years, it reported in 2022. we're focusing on implementing those recommendations. of course, elon musk, not only is he a billionaire owner of x, a very influential social media platform, he is also supported reform uk, nigel farage. there are rumours of a possible donation to that political party which could be quite influential. nigel farage, you know, was asked about his ally, his supporter elon musk. and he defended him this morning. musk describes himself as a free speech absolutist. now...now you know what he's referring to. there specifically is that in 2008, keir starmerwas hadjust been appointed as director of public prosecutions, and there was a case brought before them of alleged mass rape of young girls that did not lead to a prosecution. i don't know the rights and wrongs of that
