planes, and the same thing in the mid atlantic states tomorrow. there will be a greeting here where there will not be much snow in philadelphia, but still in for slippery spots tomorrow and ploughing operations. this is not new york city storm, but a very significant storm, four northern virginia and washington, dc, still about six hours in washington, dc and the surrounding areas to stock up on supplies and also make sure you have a plan in case you do lose power. the good news is we don't expect a lot of ice in those regions, so the real concern for the ice and power outages here is in this region here, if you have a generator, make sure you know how to use that generator and make sure it is not venting into your home, thatis is not venting into your home, that is certainly a safety tip we tell everyone in ice storms when power outages may occur. i when power outages may occur. i know some people here in washington, dc are getting ready for a snowball fight tomorrow, but the reality is this can wear thin quickly, how long are you expecting these

kind of storm —like conditions to continue? in kind of storm -like conditions to continue?— kind of storm -like conditions to continue? in the dc area and most of the _ to continue? in the dc area and most of the mid _ to continue? in the dc area and most of the mid atlantic, - most of the mid atlantic, tomorrow is a snowy day, the worst of the stall between 4am and noon in dc and baltimore, and noon in dc and baltimore, and a lull in the afternoon followed bit in late to moderate batch of snow in the event which can put on an inch or two, so tomorrow i stay home if you can, and to not travel, if you can, and to not travel, if you can, and to not travel, if you do travel give yourself plenty of time and make sure you are also prepared to if you were to get stranded on the road if you have a blanket, extra water, and other supplies in your car if you get stranded, the good news is if it will stop by tomorrow at nine or ten o'clock in the event, then very dry and tuesday and wednesday and thursday in the mid atlantic got better — but very cold, temperatures reaching near freezing through the rest of the week in the rest of this area, so close churches for the last of the eastern half of the united states for the rest of the week. there have also been weather warnings in place in the uk where snow and ice continues to cause problems on the roads — as well as for trains and air

quite significant, timing is everything. donald trump is going to be president on general 20th, and that may limit ukraine's hand, so it is important for the ukrainians to show that they still have momentum and initiative, and thatis momentum and initiative, and that is what this is in kursk. talking more about that, mentioning the fact that donald trump will soon be in the white house very soon, do you think this could potentially be an effort by the ukrainians to put them in a better negotiating position, essentially, if they are concerned that that is what president elect, and when he is president, donald trump, could be pushing for?— be pushing for? helena, i think there are a _ be pushing for? helena, i think there are a few— be pushing for? helena, i think there are a few things - be pushing for? helena, i think there are a few things going . there are a few things going on, so the ukrainians are good at reading optics, we are almost three years into the war and they know needs they need to adjust how they are perceived, donald trump likes winners, so i think that is part of the logic going into this kursk offensive once again, to try to get donald

trump attention because the narrative right now on ukraine is so negative particularly in the donbas, so one they are trained to get donald trump attention and ensure they have initiative and they can retake territory and catch the russians by surprise, but i think the second piece is also to reassure the ukrainian people that the war can be turned around. i think it is both for an international audience and at ukrainian domestic audience.- audience and at ukrainian domestic audience. that is interesting, _ domestic audience. that is interesting, i _ domestic audience. that is interesting, i wonder- domestic audience. that is interesting, i wonder also | domestic audience. that is - interesting, i wonder also what you think they're about the chances for success there, because they did have that element of surprise in august when they first launched a surprise attack in the kursk region. since then, they're going to lose about 40% of the territory they captured, we have also heard reports of low morale now among some of the troops, what have you heard? all of those things are right, the ukrainians do not have enough people, but there are some things that are not getting enough attention, so

right now, there is parity with ammunition between the russians and ukrainians, and a year ago that was on the case. a year ago, if we are having this discussion, i would ago, if we are having this discussion, iwould have ago, if we are having this discussion, i would have been seen that the russians have 8—1 to five to one 27 to one more shows than ukrainians depending on the location and the ukrainians also have parity on attack drones, so the shortages we saw a year ago have changed, but there is a significant shortage of ukrainian 1522 00:11:28,375 --> 00:11
