come on then, let's do this. ..with ink. and today is dawn's turn. it's about being able to turn something, um, you know, a scar into a piece of art and making somebody feel beautiful. four years ago, a consultant told dawn she had breast cancer. and place it over your scar? that works for me. a disease which had already claimed the life of her auntie christine. before i even sat down, i said, i've got cancer, haven't i? and he went, how did you know? and it was the gentleman that had previously dealt with my auntie as well. i probably cried two tears. and then after that, that was it, i were like, right, tell me what i need to do, i'm going to do this. fabulous. that's going to look great. i went two years without my breast, and then i had the reconstruction two year ago. when you see your scars... yeah, i don't like them. this is the bit that bothers you the most, isn't it? that's all i can see. i try not to look at my scars.
4:52 pm
so it's something like, even.... there you go. it's amazing, isn't it? so, yeah. i've been waiting for this moment. and all will be revealed at a burlesque show in two weeks' time, when kate's inkredible clients will all embrace their brand new sense of self. definitely out of my comfort zone. have you ever done anything like this before? absolutely not. you've never done anything like that before?! but you're a natural. it's my first time. how confident are we feeling? this is the final dress rehearsal before the big night, and what will be for everyone here, the big reveal. velcro issues. velcro issues? ijust, i love it. i love seeing how confident they're becoming, this metamorphosis of who they once were, to who they are now. it's been hard to build her confidence, and now she's doing so much better. she feels like her true self again.
4:53 pm
it's nice isn't it? yeah, i'm really proud of her. cheering. well done! everyone here is proud of where their scars have finally brought them, and proud of the community they've discovered along the way. so my name is holly, i'm 33. i was diagnosed with breast cancer back in 2000. oh, i'm getting upset, and i don't know why. honestly, ifound my scars... ..sorry. .. ..so repulsive. and then i met kate. and now ijust feel like i've got my confidence back. she made my boob pretty! i call it my pretty titty! i've forgotten about the scar. i actually feel quite beautiful with it. i couldn't walk past my mirror. i always had to keep myself covered up in front of myself. since i've had my tattoo, ijust flaunt it everywhere!
4:54 pm
it's enhanced my battle scars. i love it. i absolutely love it. i can't believe how many people i show my tattoo to! when the call came out to speak to you today and i said, yeah, i'm like, i'm up for showing my boobs! i'll be there! national audience? no problem. yeah, no problem. i've finished myjourney, closed the door. i don't i don't think about cancer any more. i am very proud of. living flat and having the most stunning tattoo. it made me feel very pretty again. - to be able to get up on stage and be me, it's like, wow, i'm doing this, i'm showing the world. this is what a survivor looks like. yeah. that's the beauty of what these ladies are showing us. and that feeling for me is amazing.
4:55 pm
that's my auntie. she was like a little mum to me, my second mum. she'd be so proud. the show is friday. oh, i'm so nervous. it's going to be fine. and your stage name will be? boobalicious bessie! good luck! life's starting now. that's it. we're still here, we're still fighting. we've still got a smile on us face. this is me. we are going to have more coming up in the next hour with the weather situation here in the weather situation here in the uk as well as in the us where there is a huge amount of snow. right now, let's take a look at the latest forecast.
