infuriate israelis. israeli tv showed a glimpse of one of the hostages in a pink top, while the whole country was watching and waiting. cheering. this is the family of romi gonen. this day has been a long time coming. the families and their supporters have campaigned constantly for a deal to get the hostages back. at first light, thousands of palestinians in gaza began trying to walk home. this fragile ceasefire started almost three hours late. with zero trust on either side, israel continued its attacks here in khan younis, as it waited for the names of the women being released. gaza's civil defence, run by hamas, said 19 more palestinians were killed by israel during the delay. hamas joined the celebrations, trying to claim some kind of victory.

bandages on one hand. we know she was shot as she was taken by hamas on october seven, 2023 it appears that almost immediately she came out of gaza that was addressed by medics down there and no doubt will be looked at again here. we also know that ronnie has most likely that injuries which need to be addressed. in terms of general health, all three of them were walking and they seemed clearly in buoyant mood so that in terms of what this means psychologically, there will be psychologists available here to work with them. they will have to begin to try and address and work through the trauma they will no doubt experience of the last 15 months being held captive in gaza. possibly in tunnels, being hidden away. we don't know yet how they've been treated by their hamas captors. but for the accounts of other

of their friend and daughter had been over those months. trying to follow the attempts to resolve this conflict, have a cease—fire agreement put in place, and how much they have felt when for example last summer a deal appeared close and possible only to fall away and possible only to fall away and the prospects of peace appeared very bleak. even this morning how must it felt to wake up knowing that three female hostages were due to be released but that have everything effectively be put on hold because hamas had not released the names of those three hostages and respectively the cease—fire being delayed even at the very last moment this morning those mums who were there outside gaza to welcome them, those friends, those family both here and around the world would have been clinging onto every little detail and finally tonight here at shiva medical center, those
