audience of film—lovers. rigorous festival. with ideas, with debate. they don't need to be pleased. festival had somehow lost its way, that it had so tricia tuttle, who ran the london film festival, has been brought in to reinvigorate berlin. a strong line—up of films and rely on star power to create some excitement. i mean, star power has always been part of cinema. and diverse programme that hits many different points. but having stars certainly attracts new audiences.

energy and excitement. and this year i'm really, really pleased. i mean, we have... on—screen talent. margaret qualley. one of the biggest gets for the festival this year film—makers, richard linklater, starring ethan hawke its focus — lyricist lorenz hart, one half of rodgers and hart. i mean, i like the red, too, but this is much more otherworldly.
