minister benjamin netanyahu will remain prime minister. netanyahu is declaring victory his pollster says he will win, but it is going to be close. if he does retain private us what are the implications that prime minister, what are the implications? john: if he ends up winning this race he has done it in an ugly way. he has now said he is not in a favor of a palestinian state. that is out of line with multiple generations of the u.s. administration on what the solution should be. it is going to be very rocky if he gets it. if he does not, everything will be different. mark: he does not retain the job, you're going to see an

attempt i john kerry to reignite the peace process and you will see them change the game. forming a coalition is going to involve some bluster, and that is what they are doing. john: back in 2019 and second and he was still able to put a coalition together. it will really change the whole atmosphere around the iran talks as well, because that will be the most immediate consequences will much of that is driven by the hard-line rhetoric of netanyahu. mark: i was surprised to hear from a netanyahu adviser who saw in and all who victory as a defeat for barack obama. john: it is a horrible place for

american is really relations to be. he could be emboldened by this and that will be bad for relations. john boehner joins republicans in turning over a private e-mail server to a third-party for review. he said that an independent review is the fairest way to trust hillary clinton di. she did not sign a form certifying she had handed over all her government records since leaving office i. what you think his strategy is? mark: he thinks that what she did is a little bit odd, and possibly highly suspicious.

i think he realizes that the more they can pin her down, the better it is for his presidential candidates. john: i believe those things are true, but there is a subclause that he recognizes that they have the most leverage, but not enough. they do not clear legal authority to do what they would necessarily want to do. he has to play this from a political level. if you clear legal authority he could go straight to it. mark: the state department took a week to answer the question if she signed the form. they said today there is no record that she did. it is still an interesting question. a lot of reporters suspect that they're are trying to protect their former secretary. john: the big take away is between boehner and separation

agreement. her press conference last week i was supposed to shut this thing down has not done that. mark: there are four states that matter in presidential politics i would, new hampshire nevada and south carolina. today jim -- jeb bush finished the quite effective -- his quad-fecta. >> every chance he has had to validate his mandate, he has invalidated that every change he has had. i will not change my views because people covering the story think it is unpopular.

that is what is wrong with american politics. people want to have people speak your mind, say what they believe, have a dialogue, have an interaction, interact with the press. not get into a protective bubble and never come out. mark: is jeb bush doing well? john: he has had a good run through the states. what is most interesting to me, the idea of a presidential candidates trashing president obama, hardly old news. the way he trashed him, it is interesting that he is positioning to run in the same way that obama, clinton, and the previous bush alrl ran.

mark: one of his strengths is that he does not overreach beyond what he truly feels. what he says about president obama is not an amped up soundbite, it is actually what he thinks i think it is one of his greatest strengths that voters key off of. he is saying in content, tone, and decibel level what he believes. john: he adds a little twist in there, where he adopts the far right rhetoric that obama is a communist, and i do not think he believes that. that is a fake red meat. i think he thinks obama has been a bad president, but there is a little rick santorum injection that does not jive with where he actually is. mark: the reason i think you might be wrong is because he is so conservative on the free market and so dismissive of president obama's view of what

the market should be on health care and a range of other issues. he has had a good run, and he has done all metro state. the question now, what does he do? john: i like big budgets and i cannot lie. food stamps and pell grants are on notice. all of that will be cut in this new gop budget. how dangerous is this to the gop field of potential presidential candidates? mark: if past is prologue it is hugely dangerous. democrats are very good at seeing their want to change medicare, medicaid, student loans. i think the republicans have no choice but to go down this path. it is not going to pass in the senate. we could not get any presidential candidate to take a

position on this. what did george bush say? they are going to take positions on this and it is going to hurt them. john: the ryan budget was such an atrocity around mitt romney's neck. i do not think this was as toxic, but turning medicaid into a block grant, do what they want to do, that in and of itself is toxic. i want to be clear, republicans are doing what they believe in. mark: they're going to have to prove they can talk about it and defend it anyway they have never been able to do in modern politics. aaron schock, the irishman from illinois and a target of the

investigative unit announced today he is quitting congress. it was not just the questionable payments to donors and sloppy expense records that landed him under the microscope ethics had opened and it is initiation into the -- an investigation to him. we were already surprised. when we come back, lindsey graham is going to make some jokes. ♪

lindsey: let me tell you, i have a lot of material that nobody knows about, and that is good. [laughter] when you get loose and have one too many -- never mind. [laughter] mark: john mccain is giving you advice about this. he tells jokes over and over again. lindsey: he tells the same was over and over again. they are funny, i do not know after the 100 times we heard them but they are all in the delivery. he told me to come here, it is a battleground. i told 20 minutes of jokes at the summit -- ag summit.

[laughter] [indiscernible] mark: there was a time in 2007 when you and senator dean love to watch john edwards to the i feel pretty video. have you ever seen anything funnier than that? lindsey: that is pretty funny. here is a little factoid. john edwards and i were born in the same town in the same hospital in south carolina. he was in the left wing, i was in the right-wing. very few people know that. mark: it is the hope arkansas of

south carolina. lindsey: dysfunctional. mark: the best joke was about the clintons. why are they a rich source of humor? lindsey: i think they can take a joke. it is not funny over time if you cannot take it. they can take it, and they can give it. but they have had a thousand episodes of skirting political debt. i do not think he is happy when his back against the wall. that is when he is most dangerous. bill clinton is a guy who has survived people look at him and say he is smart, he is confident, and that is a testament to him not giving up. she is very tough. they have survived a lot.

mark: prime minister netanyahu, if he is not reelected, what is the implication for the united states? lindsey: it will not have a lot of impact on the radiant talks, but going forward it will be a rejection of the theme that israel was a threat. national security versus domestic concern. the people in israel are not as worried about irani and that they thought they were. i really do not know what it means. john: you mentioned hillary clinton being tough and there's a lot of controversy in the

news. do you think she is lying? lindsey: i'm not going to say she is lying but i'm going to say this is not good for her. i do not know how she denies somebody a chance to look at the private server today in politics there are not many people the political system who say just trust me. she has a hard time maintaining the approach she is taking, that this rival server cannot he looked at by an independent group. mark: he thought the party need to move on from the old names and -. do you think they should turn back to a third bush? lindsey: i think they will evaluate jeb on being jeb. we don't like dynasties, but we do like individual.

they will give you a chance to prove who you are, let you fail comeback, like bill clinton. they are going to give you it a chance to make the case about who you are. and when you are talking about somebody's flaws based on your name, you do not understand our hearty and our country -- parties and our country. you look at what we have to offer, does it fit the times? most of the questions are about the flaws of the past president. think about the last 30 or 40 years in reagan with the antidote to carter.

obama to bush. what is the antidote to obama? what are we looking for? how about a guy who has shown the ability to do bipartisan politics. being able to tell his party something they do not want to hear. how about a guy who understands the world for what it really is rather than what you would like it to be. who knows the wrongs of radical islam and how to deal with the threat? the next president will be the guy seen ready to serve on day one, and one can bring us together. john: john stewart, stephen colbert made fun of you for a long time. who did you prefer? lindsey: i think john was more

biting and hit home more often. colbert is from charleston maybe he could not go the next level. but john stewart does great. he is tough on everybody, not just republicans. someone has to fill that space in american politics. mark: thank you so much. ♪

me and hillary, and a contest for president. the first thing i would say to her is let's talk about e-mail. i did not think bill and i had anything in common.
