when was the last time you bought a shirt from them? it has been a problem for the company. shares down 40%. they expect a substantial annual loss. back to you. rishaad: the aussie dollar sharply down after the latest minutes from the r&b meeting later this month. they think they still have room to ease if growth doesn't pick up. >> these minutes were what we thought directed, a two-prong situation. really based on the sense of the fact that the growth profile of australia is quite weak and the outlook remains so. the unemployment picture has come in the frame. one thing when we talk about the growth profile it is linked to the china story and the banks concerned with property questions in the chinese markets.

in the program. we want your opinion. rio tinto down despite news it eached a deal with mongolia. david joins us live from melbourne with a look at how significant this development is and given the share price on the way down, it proves it is better to travel than arrive sometimes. >> good morning, rish. rio has agreed to unlock this expansion of the mine in mongolia. that has been in a logjam for about two years. the muted response so far rio down about 1% in trading in australia in line with its peers like b.h.p. investors may want more detail on what this means.

growth doesn't pick up. the r&b didn't give any guidance when it cut rates two week ago. hat have we learned today? >> it is still not completely clear. they said it was a delibbed deliberate decision not to provide guidance. the deputy si governor said nothing has changed. today, the board maintains or retains the options to adjust according to the circumstances. it is not quite an easing bias but it is not -- as well. rishaad: ok. i guess we have to look at the economic trends and the key ones. which will keep the central bank on this easing buyers if that xists.

michael, can you hear me? >> i can now, yes. rishaad: what are the key economic trends that keep the central bank there on this easing bias? >> the main one is that fostering business investment outside of the mining industry. i think as everyone knows, the investment resources in australia is falling off very quickly. and the central banks -- stimulate other parts of the economy to make up for that. there is very little sign that is gaining attraction in the economy. the second one to watch is china, australia's biggest trading partner and the property market there this ch has been the source of demand for iron core and coal and other commodities. there is big concern about the slowdown there and how that may play out in the commodity

market. rishaad: all right. a look at a ke rate decision elsewhere. it is rate decision day in indonesia. investors closely watching how he central bank there tack the weakest economic growth in five years. what are we looking at? >> good morning to you. a majority of economists surveyed by bloomberg expect them to hold at 7.5%. some are expecting a cut on the rate. there has been a clash between the government as to where interest rates should go. they want to economy to expand to 7%. g.d.p. growth slowed from a year earlier. bank indonesia has pledged to --

and balancing governments to -- an account deficit and prop up he rupiah. it is worst performing currency in asia this year. the rupiah would likely see a selloff. -- sts -- suck coming succoming to pressure. the economists expect -- the economy is expected to improve nce the people start spending. s of april this year, only 539 million u.s. dollars have been expended to capital expenditure.

bloomberg new energy finance. utilities -- can this company stay afloat? that is the thing here. >> their financial situation is very weak at this moment. the company is taking action and changing strategy and focusing on the market where the average selling price can be high. rishaad: in four years as we have been looking at? >> no, it was not losing all the time. rishaad: not all the time. >> yeah, there was good moments . the strategy it took was dragging the company financial situation down. is now taking actions but today's activities are not enough to drive the situation back. but the possibility is there. the government may take some action. rishaad: absolutely. joseph, let's look at this.

what does this mean for the solar industry in china and green energy there as well? what does it tell us about current levels of demand too? >> i think it is just a footnote. china's ambitions for green energy have been very, very evident. all of the targets, most of the targets, they ripped through them. now china is looking at 200 giga watts. rishaad: this is the target here? >> we're looking at 200. now we're at 100. don't forget 2005 was fundamentally zero. for solar. that is going to basically triple from current levels. we didn't put in gas and gas again is doubling from current levels. china is putting a lot of -- rishaad: coal, we want to assume where the squeeze is taking place? >> correct. coal is still growing because of

china's energy needs. roughly the same size as the u.s. the population is not. they are going to need a lot more energy over the next 10-20 years. coal will still have a place but the place for coal is smaller and smaller. rishaad: what is a gigawatt? it is solid, is it not? this is a serious government policy that focuses on green technology. >> actually 100 gigawatts for solar is the old target. the government would like to adjust it up to 120 or 130 give gig watts. the thing for solar, is the learning rate is very high. 24%. which means one of the -- when

sector and copper and gold. you may be familiar with this story after two years of bitter negotiation and billions of dollars on the line. this major mining project in mongolia set to move forward. rio tinto and mongolia settling that dispute. this is a bitter dispute. if disagreement makes way for work to resume on the project, it seems key to mongolia's economy and their social media reaction to it as well, especially in mongolia. from the c.e.o. to the companies involved. because billions of dollars are at stake here. let's check on what the copper c.e.o. of rio tinto is saying. he said today's announcement paves the way for work to resume on the underground quoment development and that is something both sides are welcoming.
