david: we are live from bloomberg world headquarters in new york covering stories out of san francisco, brazil, washington and milan. pushing -- after a strong raid on consumer spending. presidentazil's taking the stand at her own impeachment trial, issuing a personal appeal to lawmakers, saying her ouster what about to a political death sentence. david: donald trump has been seemingly sending mixed messages on issues like race and immigration. can he win over voters? a look at the latest polls, coming up. the markets close in about two hours. let's look at the major u.s. indexes. the dow jones up and the s&p 500 up equally about .3%.

.5%.out a list of all 10 groups on the s&p, we see up in all three major indexes. abigail doolittle has more from the nasdaq. abigail: we do have quite a rally on her hands with the index trading at session highs. all 10 sessions are higher now as well. this was not true in the morning when health care was dragging. that's helping to explain why the nasdaq is at session highs. this does follow weekly declines on the nasdaq. , ahad a weekly chart here weekly chart of the nasdaq and what happened last week that really stands out, we are looking at a reversal pattern

highlighted by yellow arrows and we have seen it three other times over the last year. into the slide in may and the possibility that this weekly outside campbell mason just the nasdaq could take a bit of a breather. as for what is helping the nasdaq, micron shares are up 2.9% as deutsche bank takes its price target higher, citing the recovery in dram pricing. micron turnaround in a big way, up more than 15%. bloomberg intelligent analysts expect that recovery in pricing to them. upgrade to an output format wells fargo with one analyst

not much news made and janet yellen did not make much of a difference. did make a difference, the two year yield came off and people are looking for a hike now. absolutely, and if you look at the probability of the next rate, that has increased. they are getting were -- getting ready for a rate hike this year. september might be too early. that was a mild characterization , but strong enough to say the case has been strengthened for a rate hike is sheer. the bulk of her speech was on the future, and academic speech in the context of an academic conference.

what did she have to say about the medium and long-term? shet: it was interesting -- avoided any discussion about medium to longer term policy outlook. it's getting challenging for the fed to persuade the market that they are going to deliver multiple rate hikes in 17 and 18. this is probably due to market skepticism, due to lackluster fedomic out put and the succumbing to normal. said she believes the tools are working, the over thehey develop recent crisis is working and says the fed model is working and that is the tools they are going to use in the next crisis. vonnie: it might be six of one and half dozen of the other, are

they skeptical about the economy or the federal reserve's intention? guest: every time they tell us they are going to raise rates, something happens like the brexit or something else. it is coming hard to believe them because they have been telling us one thing and doing something different. david: this jobs report on friday must be hugely important. why would they raise rates ahead of the election? fort: i think the report august will probably be less consequential. we don't think they are going to raise rates in september and they will have three additional reports until the december meeting. they will probably not raise rates in november because of the election. and even if we0 go down a little, it's not going to be that much of an important because we know hiring a strong.

the acting president is making comments, saying with the country need is unions. to concerned must he be become not just acting president, but president to move the country forward? guest: this is the key moment. he needs the 54 votes to be named president officially and do the things he has been saying he would do. the newspapers say he's not watching the impeachment sessions, just getting up dates. his allies say he expects around than the 54re needed, but this is a key moment and he must he watching it closely. david: how have the markets price this in? is there any doubt he's going to be impeached -- she is going to be impeached? guest: it is priced in. you look at stock charter currency charts, you can see the rally has been very strong.

here you are trying to make a brand for yourself while playing the game and doing it in a way where you have to do a lot of stuff on your own. guest: it started out with the trick shot stuff and that is what gave me the ability to chase my dream of being on the pga tour. i had a brand that was a little different than everybody and it's hard to say whether i would be here or not without the trick shots. vonnie: you and your brother are both golfers and you have a twitter following on which you post trick shots. everyone loves to watch trick shots but i always thought it was your technique. are you not afraid to be practicing shots? guest: i don't really practice that much. i've been blessed with hand eye coordination, so when i see balls come toward me, i knocked them out of the air. most of my attention focus has been on the playing side.

vonnie: you are number six on web.com. top 25 andically the you automatically get a pga tour card. how many events do you need to win early on to feel confident you can see the whole season through? guest: if you win that on the pga tour, you are set. eating a win in the fall -- getting a win in the fall, you have to get the card again and you have some high dishes early on stop that can take almost half a year to a full year to get there, 25 events to get there. to get a win early and do a couple of finishes his huge. all of the trick shots in

guest: it is tough. golf is a good spot with a lot of young talent, and hopefully it's on the up and up moving forward. david: what changes measurably ? what will change about your life on a day-to-day basis? laying for a million dollars every week and sin of $100,000, so that obviously brings a lot more. this is what we want to do for our whole life, it's our dream to play on the pga tour. i certain playing golf when i was 12, so that 10 years. vonnie: what do you need now to make it to the next level? but to top 25 rookies, make it to the top flight and be on the leaderboard, is it

donald trump eating cheeseburgers and prepping for debate that are a month away. i assume hillary clinton is doing the same thing. what are these two candidates doing? john: they are getting ready in very different styles. hillary clinton has a huge advantage over trump in this respect. there's no preparation for these debates like having done them before and debates that are multicandidate debates are really different from one-on-one candidate debate. in the many debates she did with barack obama and bernie sanders, she has done this a lot on national television. inveterate an repairer -- prepare. she's studying really hard and figuring out that they are going to do this at the clinton campaign and prepare within an inch of their life.

a much more freewheeling style. people like kellyanne conway, people who are informal advisers, just thinking out through what them of the topics might be. they are preparing in ways that are symptomatic. vonnie: does gary johnson get into the debates? john: as of this moment, it does not appear so. the commission on presidential debates has not been specific about what the cut out date -- the cutoff date is going to be. they have not said yet what the methodology they are going to use is or what the cutoff date is going to be. but gary johnson is still in single-digit and almost every poll. he would have to move up quickly and what his campaign has not in doing his what i would be doing, which is spending all my times

on -- spending all my time on as many platforms as possible. it only way he can get over that 15% threshold. david: donald trump tweeting there's going to be a big speech on wednesday. they're looking for a bigger venue. he's facing a lot of questions about his immigration plan. i'm sure sheriff joe will make an appearance. what can we expect? john: i don't know. i don't say that because i have not been following this closely for as of now, it is totally unclear what donald trump's immigration policy is. he has visited so may times that he has not only got around 360 degrees but he has dug himself into a hole like a corkscrew into the dirt. we know he wants to build a wall . we had he wants to enforce immigration law, but beyond

for more, we are joined by emily chang. what are we expecting apple to unveil next week? apple -- emily: we are expecting them to unveil the iphone seven. you see a series of lights in the shape of an apple logo. maybe a not too forthcoming camera technology. we are expecting dual camera processing, to camera taking two images and merging them together to create a sharper, more colorful image. our reporter has in reporting a lot of new features we are expecting. another that there will not be a headphone jack. you have to use wireless headphones or plug-in to a charging part of the phone. some people are not to happy with this. others say apple is moving us toward the future.

got over it. we are expecting potential changes coming to the home button as well as new apple watches. not a big design change coming with these products but the watchmen have faster internal controls and gps, but the big thing to know is you have to tether it to your iphone which is something they were trying to change. greatroving to be such a technical challenge that they have not been able to separate the two yet. david: it's other september event and we have seen them year after year. the focus seems to be on hardware while apple is pushing toward services. reporting last week apple is moving toward a new video editing program for the phone. emily: we know the smart phone market is saturated and apple is feeling that just like everyone else. there's not going to be a big

design change with either the iphone or the watch. a couple of years ago, we get the bigger iphones and it gave the company a big sales and here we are going on the third-year, so there's a question of whether these upgrades would be interesting and compelling enough for consumers to take advantage of. will they see that same big bump that for the holidays? will it the compelling enough to buy? that is why apple is not only availing new hardware but focusing on software and services, revamping apple music. they want services to contribute and increasing portion to their revenue. they are going to have to come up with cash awfully soon. we may learn tomorrow the closing in and
