welcome respite. >> you can experience the complete vitality throughout the day. >> when it comes to business dinners head straight to the , table around the corner. it is classy without being pretentious. it is quite enough for dealmaking. that may be why the locals are obsessed with this spot. the menu is more trendy than traditional. plan to eat dinner late, 9:00 p.m. is standard. if you have a day off, escape the city by hopping a ferry. eventually the city fades and an , inner calm sets in. you will be surrounded by indian children. ofy toss snacks to trails seagulls. you can also hire a speedboat for $500 and cut the journey from one hour to 20 minutes, but you will miss the local color. on the island, you will find a

handful of monkeys. it leads to a series of amazing caves with relief sculptures. they are dedicated to the hindu a.d of shive if you can't make it across the water, you can stay in the middle of mumbai. there is plenty to say. streetside coconut vendors are everywhere. if you're jet lagged, the electrolytes will help. one of my favorite: the the mesh one of my favorites. there is just one choice here, bright and flavorful, like all-you-can-eat sampler platters. the restaurant was passed down from father to son, and the son is enthusiastic about his locally sourced ingredients. since india has gone cashless, ask to add a 10% tip. you can also charge tips for bellhops and housekeeping back at the hotel. after lunch, hit the streets and find the perfect piece of india to take back home.

this is a family affair where the owner keeps the real jewels hidden in the background. the owner's son designs many the pieces himself. he sources the rest from jaipur. antiques are huge in india, but you can't take anything more than 100 years old out of the country. you can pick up carved elephants salvaged from palaces just next door. nearby, i also found beautiful folk art figurines and an amazing vintage photo collection. for clothing, there is a great spot called bungalow eight hidden under the bleachers of mumbai's biggest cricket stadium. it is tricky to find. but you will be rewarded by the prettiest scarves, all arranged by color.

let's get the numbers out of the way. all three have impressive stats. the porsche is slightly behind the mercedes-benz and jaguar. but each is a thrill to drive in its own way. >> this is the 2017 porsche 911 cabriolet. b immune is a 420-horsepower, six-cylinder boxer engine mounted in the rear. it is difficult to describe the feeling behind the wheel. this is where that mystical porsche x-factor comes in. the rear will drive on 20-inch wheels and torque factoring grip the road better than any other model in our group. the amg gts feels like a rocket ship. it is faster and more fun to drive than any mercedes. this car has a lot to offer, a v8 engine, horsepower, torque. of course if you are not careful, the rearwheel drive amg will fishtail with a mind of its own. that said, it is amazing in a straight line.

this is the two-door coupe jaguar debuted in 2015 as a way to get back in the game. and the company did it with flying colors. the handling is great. this car is so perfectly balanced. it is a dream to drive it, especially on winding roads. the torque you feel is the most impressive of the group, but not as connected to the road as the 911, nor as smooth as the amg. it is tight when it comes to steering and braking. ♪ ♪ >> the 911 is recognizable, yet after all these years, it is still impressive. the front end is flirtatious. the rear end muscle-y. this is the bad boy car meant to recall the mercedes of the 1960's. the idea is its sexy allure will attract young fans.

this is the car you want to make a really loud statement. the jag is all muscle and roar, punched up at the seams like a football player. if you like a hunk of metal and gears under your foot, this is the one for you. porsche was the first brand to introduce the pdk paddle shift technology. it is quicker and better for city driving than the manual. there is also a backseat in this option, something the other two don't have. i don't know if you put anybody in that backseat except for your dog or someone you don't like, but it is back there and you can use it in a pinch. inside, i love how the mercedes looks. it has crazy round dials all through the center and dash, and everything felt thick and rich. there is plenty to see inside the jaguar, stitching, performance seats, and a handle

for the front passengers to hold onto for dear life. this is the least well done of the three in interior quality and design, it is still pretty great. the bottom line, you can't go wrong with any of these incredible machines. but if you want the whole package at the best value, the 911 is the clear winner. sure it is not as aggressive as the amg and has less power than the jag, but its connection to e ground, german handling, superior spension,nd minimal but quality interior mean the 911 cabriolet stands its ground. ♪ >> coming up, a master chef lays out the rules for ordering a truly delicious steak. >> treat these steaks with respect. >> a team of brothers aims to re-create a piece of america's past, the vintage teardrop camper is making a comeback.

"pursuits" has the answer. >> i am josh. we are here to go over the rules to make sure you enjoy your steak. first of all ask to see the , steak you are ordering. you don't buy a car without taking it for a test drive. all you have to do is ask. any of our servers will come over and show you. rule number two, be patient, order a couple of appetizers. a quality piece of meat like this is going to take 20-25 minutes to cook properly and come to the table. number three, treat the steak with respect. this is all dry, aged meat. it has a flavor. don't douse it in salt before you taste it. enjoy it for what it is. rule number four, order the steak the way you want it cooked. i'm not going to tell you how to eat your meat. is going toeakhouse cook it the way you want it cooked. number five, don't cut off the side and say my steak is overcooked.

cut the steak in the middle. check the temperature from the middle. number six, don't be afraid to take home leftovers. eaks. are big stak if you don't eat it, i might. most important, when you come to a steakhouse, remember that animals gave up their lives for you to enjoy the cut of meat, so you should enjoy them and respect them along the way. to close out "bloomberg pursuits," a segment we call "made." to truly understand an object of luxury you need to understand , how it was made in its journey to the workshop and how it comes to life. ♪ often, i will be driving down the highway and see a road off that highway. i wonder, where does that road go?

i just love them. it felt like in the realm of destiny, like, i have to go do this. >> teardrops were first introduced after world war ii. the reason they have the materials they use, the jeep wheels, the aluminum, it is quite simply because they were using army surplus. >> between the three of us, we have done it all. all the trades, carpentry, sheet rock, electric, plumbing, cabinetry. all of that. >> phase one is the woodworking phase. we put the pattern down on here . traced our lines. and i cut it rough with the jigsaw, very imprecise. i'm just getting most of the material out of the way.

now i'm going to put the pattern back on here and i am going to route it out to a finer degree with the router against our pattern and make it more precise and smooth. ♪ >> what i am doing right now is building what we call the h-frame. it is really the sign of the trailer. >> in the shop, it is mostly us. he doesn't have time. he is making phone calls, answering phone calls, and selling. so we cut out the wood, finish everything. the box together, so now we have a wooden box. >> a lot of people don't

understand hand tools, but they are the quickest to get things done a lot of times. >> i try to do the maximum amount of quality with the bare minimum of tools. >> building each caravan takes approximately two weeks to assemble and finish. >> the second step is we insulate the box, and then we skin it with aluminum. ♪ >> it is a soft aluminum. we have to be careful in the shop. if we dent the side of the trailer, we have to pull that piece of skin off and put on a new one. it is learning to work very precisely and carefully. his role in this is to

never be happy. it is never good enough. >> are you flush? ok. >> if it was just myself, it would be neat and nice, but with cody in the mix, they are unbelievably over the top. >> this just came back from the powder coater. >> we put the completed box on a frame. we jack that frame up and put the wheels on it. colin starts making the side doors. and then we work on the rear hatch door. ♪ >> after that, it is finishing details. i get inside and we put in some trim, add the switches, test all the lights. >> dome lights, beautiful.

fan, beautiful. all three speeds. >> we put in a table. peel ther that, we protective plastic off the aluminum. careful. these will scratch the surface. we put on the decals. >> these are lightly put in place. peel off this real slow. >> the last step is to put the hub caps on. because they are chrome, we want there to be no scratches. we put them on, and pop. there is a sense of relief, and we can get on to the next one. ♪ >> what i envision is you take that caravan with an old vehicle, an old jeep, an old ound rover.
