1:41 pm
what i would say is, it is an interesting undertaking, is it worth any while -- is it worth honeywell's while? will: the product was something we were thrilled to partner with will on. it is a one-of-a-kind product. our technology teams brought a product to bear that we think is one-of-a-kind in the marketplace and we are excited about it and we expect big things for the rest of the year. matt: will.i.am, you have been working on tech hardware products for a long time. you get a smartwatch that did not work out well at first, then you moved to another iteration of the product. i wonder if you have plans for the super mask, for advancing it beyond what you have already created. will.i.am: the team that we

assembled, we are getting the mask to a level where, post-covid, you are still going to be inspired to rock the super mask. as far as the watch, i like to create ideas and bring them to life and solve problems and we learned a lot doing that, and for a black-owned company making a product that did not need a phone, that to the chipset, creating our own operating system, got approval from at&t's network and across the pond, at the time when we launched that, they were not many watches that were independent from a phone. for i kid that comes from the ghetto -- for a kid that comes from the ghetto to create a product with functional technology with networks like

amazing leadership because of your influence in a variety of ways. one thought i had about the mask , which is cooler than most masks, more high-tech, you are sitting in a country where there has been resistance to masking even in the middle of a pandemic. do you think people will get the message that in one way or another, we are probably going to be masking for a long time, if not forever in certain circumstances? will.i.am: people need to have a global perspective and learn from other folks that have dealt with epidemics in the past. asia handled sars really well to the point where we did not feel the shock and sympathize for what they were going through and because we did not empathize and sympathize, we did not prepare and know how to deal with covid. places like taiwan and japan, wearing masks is a part of their culture and that is the reason
1:45 pm
why those countries had handled covid better than we did. if there is one thing we can learn from this winter, less people got the flu because most people where wearing masks and sanitizing. if you think of ppe, a product that we wear every day, shoes. you cannot go to a supermarket or a mall barefoot. we forgot that shoes are ppe, they protect your feet. there are people that wear combat boots or construction boots to the gym and we have next basketball equipment into seats for work and people don't even play basketball, but those are protective equipment for your ankles and the soles of your feet and if we could make masks that have more functionality than just protecting you, maybe that is the moment where people are going to be inspired and have aspirations on wearing a mask.

matt: will lange, i want to ask you about working with will.i.am to create this product. i was doing an interview a couple days ago with a professor who wrote a book called what musical minds teach us about innovation. his point is that musicians tend to be able to innovate really well and you see it, obviously, with justin timberlake, jan say, will.i.am -- beyonce, will.i.am. what did he bring to this project that he did not necessarily happen the corporate culture? will: the biggest thing he brought to this project is a convergence of the arts, fashion, and science. all of those pinnacles of human ingenuity converging into one place. i think that mindset is what drove up product that is differentiated in the

marketplace that combines bluetooth, filtration, intake, exhaust, air flotation -- air filtration altogether into a product that goes from something that people kind of have to wear or are willing to wear to something that people want to wear and that is what is exciting about this. amanda: i have to ask, matt was listing some of what you have been up to and you referenced some of the other leadership roles you play. where is the space in all of this for your art? where are you in terms of your music production? will.i.am: music is second nature. it does not take that much time anymore when you have been making music as long as we have. we had four number ones last year and that happened during covid. around that time, we were making music, i was putting the super mask team together.

rvs, and i say this as somebody who is mildly obsessed with the idea of a luxury rv, i think of them as yachts for people from the midwest, it is the infrastructure available to you. you need to plug them in, tied him up, unload the sewage. has not improved for you or is there a place in the market for that to change as your business grows? geneva: that is something we have been thinking about from the beginning, camping with a bowlus is a different way to explore so it does not require the necessary infrastructure like you are talking about. you can camp off grid so you don't need those hookups, you don't need that consistent sewer line. we have thought of many solutions to make it easy to not require that and that opens up where our customers are enjoying camping. matt: it reminds me of the 1950's, not just the design, but the idealistic life of camping
