2:07 pm
to back up probably over 3% or more before i think this market find as top. >> whoa. in what time frame and would that be quick? >> not many people think 3% is in the cards at least for this year so you're basically saying the market is not going to top out for months and months, possibly a year from now. >> no. i really think, melissa -- and i know it sounds crazy. i think the ten-year yield is going to make it past 3 president 5% before the year is out. that's why i'm saying think we'll stick with stocks before we get more rate pressure in the system and think the s&p is going to find its way up toward 2,000 or maybe a little above and maybe it will correct urn rate pressure in the year but i really thing the undertow of this economy is far better than people think and i think that's going become more obvious as the year progresses and that's going to have another ugly year yet in bonds. >> good news on the economy and stocks, but, whoa, what about the yields? brian, do you agree with what jim just said? >> i agree with the statement
2:08 pm
that the market remains in an up trend. we think it continues to move. we don't have it. we think it despite the leadership issue, some of the rotational issues we see remain pretty strong so e we could certainly move higher. >> i'm going to go to stock picks. that's an interesting one. it didn't fall pray to the big swoon, up 52% so far this year. they had earnings out back in april and they made a prediction it's going to outperform substantially its peers. what's the catalyst for skyworks at this point? >> it's certainly doing it on a fundamental basis right now and we think it will continue. the catalyst for that company or several actually. you know, their content keeps going up, so they provide

content for cell phones, smartphones, tabloids, that sort of thing, so not only are they providinging more of that but their dollar content device continues up and they're broadening out into more devices and arias. as more as more things becomes connected they provide more solutions for that. we think they have a lot of room to run. while the stock has done well, the earnings has been great so it's pretty reasonable. >> talking about evaluations you think you can buy emerging market stocks at a discount to what you can get u.s. stocks for. i like diversification. i like to look overseas at well. so you're looking to emerging markets as opposed to developed international markets? >> i think that's my favorite right now, mandy. you know, these things bomb pretty hard there in early march. they've been outperforming significantly, the u.s. and other markets since. actually the eemetf has now
2:10 pm
roughly performed in line. there ooh's a big bomb going on. like the idea, you've got this world, bottoms on. 7% growth or a little less, you're going have a world growing two times faster than the developed world and now you can buy that prospect for discounted notables. so thii think that's a point. there could be a lot of cash coming in behind you if they continue to outperform. >> indeed. it's only about 1.5%. to recap the breaking news that we brought you at the top of the hour, president obama just moments ago announcing the resignation of press secretary jay carney. he's going to be replaced by the press secretary. also eric shinseki resigning from the didn't of veteran affairs. president obama still incesting the v.a. care is good.

see there are waiting lines in canada and englachbld we have an overabundance of sigs physicians and circumstances. but we don't have the appropriate way to get these veterans, the people who deserve it the most to get that access of care and that's the problem. so i think if we were able to sort of privatize the system to some extent and allow them to go to physicians, that would at least in the short term unblock the system. >> i'm sure there are plenty of veterans who received good care and others who are above par. what do you think of it? >> it's hard to say because we only know the tip of the iceberg right now. but i would say the goal of the physician is to get 100% of the people the care. all it really takes to bring down an entire system is one

value at significantly more than that. and if anschutz should try to sell his sports property, they were talking $6 billion, $7 billion, it could be more than that. >> madison square garden, owner of the knicks, the nets, what do you think? >> i know for fact having spoken to people having spoken to steve ballmer, he was dying to buy an nba team. he missed out on two previous opportunities. he was not going to let this bun go by. this was a distressed sale and a buyer who was going to do something. i don't think you're going to see this kind of valuation but it does kind of paetsch the way and clear the way for other people to get slightly higher than they would have otherwise. >> we've got breaking news. thanks so much. let's get to courtney reagan. market flash. >> check out shares of allergan. it has been reopened.
2:50 pm
that news turned out to be that valeant was raising its shares. valeant currently trading up more than 6.5%. milliliter. >> what a pop. courtney, thanks for that. top rookies from the l allergen trading up. >> rookies for the nfl are learning about the business brand and how to maximize their brand on and off the field. joining us now is the number four pick for the buffalo bills, seam watkins. you've actually been a bills fan since you were a kid and you're out there to learn the business side of the nfl. what are you learning? >> i'm learning a lot. i just found out how we have a protection where they are fighting for our right, old players, new players that's helping us out through the whole process and we have a whole team who definitely for us.

brand as they are building the career on the field what. are you thinking on in terms of what you would like to get in on the business side of yourself to make sure that you have that runway after you retire as a player? >> for me it's hopefully have a successful career to where i can get out in the business and doing what you're doing and talk about everything, but i want to stick around sports. also be that motivational speak their can go out and reach out to kids in the communities, guys that don't have a chance to go to college or guys that don't get a chance for brand new shoes every week, to reach out to communities and reach out to younger guys and girls to understand that you don't have to have all the money in the world to do things, just have a job and determines to do whatever you want to do. >> great to hear you thinking about giving back already. sammy, best of luck to you. >> yes, ma'am, thank you. >> a major story today getting a lot of buzz is mark zuckerberg

2:56 pm
that the deal gets done. i think that this is the second increase this week alone and i think valiant, again, is very, very serious about acquiring allergen. this puts a lot of pressure to respond, and i think -- i think the combination makes a lot of sense. certainly allergen has done a lot of things to try to discredit valiant and their business model, but i think valiant, especially after this week's investor presentation, has i think assured its investor base that it's the right company to integrate allergen and also the right company to grow products. >> you have a buy rating on valiant i believe, tim. does that change if they don't get this deal over the line? >> i don't think so. i think valiant is very well run with the ceo and mike pearson. i think that they have
2:57 pm
demonstrated over the past four or five years that they are the acquisition integration company in the pharmaceutical space. if they don't, if they are not successful in buying allergen, but i think allergen is the company that they are going to buy. >> what else could they buy? there's a lot of components to it. so they could look for another dermatology company in my view. >> tim, thanks for joining us. appreciate your analysis. mark zuckerberg and his wife are giving a hot $20 million to help improve bay area schools and let's not forget what happened with his generous donation and why that money was spent on everything but the children. let's bring back robert frank for more.

2:59 pm
divide? there's hatred -- not hatred but animosity. >> there's optics involved. when he gave to newark right at the time that the film came out, the timing was not uncoincidental. somebody gives $120 million to people who need it in schools, that's a good thick. >> thank you very much, robert frank. >> before we let you go, a very big day for thomas pikett why. >> what should we ask him? what's the number one thing we need to know from him? >> a lot of people will get caught in the weeds of the data stuff. the most important thing is there an inheritance boom? i don't see that happening but that's the question. >> thank you so much. >> robert, thank you. >> of course, i'll see everybody
