kitchen. we'll show you how. >> okay. let's get to it. we begin with what could be ground breaking development in the war against alzheimer's, the biggest news event in biotech this year and bet your bottom dollar investors and us watch closely. biogen releasing full data tomorrow on the drug. shares are rising, and in fact high today at 1.8% as we speak. what is at stake here? >> hey, mandy, a lot. start with the size of the problem, more than 5 million americans currently have al timer's disease, and that could triple by 2050 according to the alzheimer's association. it's now the sixth leading cause of death in the united states. treatment options are limted. the only drugs in the market work on the symptoms rather than slowing the course of the disease. in recent years rs there's been a number of high profile failures of drugs making this a very risky bet. agents data in december were positive. the study was small and named

primarily to evaluate safety. it shows signs of ethics as well, removing plaques in the brain associated with the disease and stemming declines in memory loss and thinking clearly. what we got in december were top line results. we did not have the details. that's what's coming tomorrow. analysts looking to see how strong the drug looks to be as well as clues about safety. they said in december they plan to move into phase three trials skipping results, skipping over clinical studies, giving people hope for strong data tomorrow. a successful drug for alzheimer's could bring in $10 billion in annual revenue. of course, that's setting the stock up for big moves tomorrow. the downside up 20% if the data is a major disappointment upside of 15% if positive. most analysts are optimistic, but it's been a tough area for drug development. tyler, back to you. >> all right, thank you very much merks gg. rallied big yesterday, and oil

back on the slide today. dollar related moves yesterday, and today, maybe, moving the other way, partly for that reason. jackie deangelis tracking oil. >> you're right. the dollar gave us the opportunity to rally yesterday. stronger dollar index over 99 today, a factor pushing crude to 45.09, dipped under the level of 45, but interesting to see how we close today, down around to a buck-50 at this point. traders are talking about the commentary from opec. no change in position here. they are reiterateing no production cut at the june meeting, and that in fact production levels are steady because it's really about market share for the cartel. again, anybody who thought we could see a change in june is certainly taking that off the table at this point. here we go. it's opey kicking the can to us saying it's the u.s. to reduce production to bring prices back up, and, of course we know here companies are cutting cap ex

but these could be rigs depleted as well. there's factors here. we're back to the supply-demand story. you're absolutely right, the dollar is key as well. the traders think we are lower from here. back to you. >> thank you very much for that. talking of going lower, stocks giving back yesterday's fed-fueled rally. the numbers here, dow off by 125 points s&p down by 12 and, in fact, the s&p has not seen back-to-back gains in a month. the dollar rebounding today, recovering almost -- almost all the fed day losses but yield on benchmark 10-year notes below 2% mark at 1.979, dropping below that post bid yesterday. the trading action bob is on the floor of the stock exchange boy, we had a big meal yesterday, but we had nearly 24 hours do digest it bob. stocks are down. how much is due to lower energy shares? >> it's ground hog day, back to where we were exactly two days ago. that's the problem. looking at the same numbers you

put up put up what i'm looking at, s&p trending lower the month of march, euro as you see, dollar stronger against the euro, and crude trending down. this has been every day this month practically with the exception of yesterday. we are going to a new contract on oil, by the way. i believe the may contract starts tomorrow. declining to advancing stocks and volume on the heavier side big volume on energy stocks with a rally yesterday, giving upmost gains yesterday in usual names. every morning i come in southwest, murphy down 2, 3, 4%. that happened today. no bounce off the lows today like recently. steel, dollar is stronger. of course we heard allegations of chinese dumping steel affecting them. they are back down giving up the gains they had yesterday. no pop in interest rates, not a help to banks. kbe, the bank etf. they rose throughout the month of february and rates move to

the upside but you can see we flattened out in march, and we are down today as rates have not been on the upside. in terms of anything moving up not much. there's a small group of some software and service companies. you know the red hats monsters yahoo! twitter into it up fractionally. but, tyler, i can't say trends. traders are focusing more on the feds' comments about moderating dproet growth, and i think that's impacting the markets today. tyler? >> robert, thank you very much. the nasdaq trying for a fourth straight day of gain all be them somewhat modest. bertha, we are just a little bit above break even right now. >> yeah. we are suffering from a midday slump. if you come out, take a look apple in its debut in the dow jones industrial average, not really happening the situation. certainly not helping here. it had been up at the start of the day, but what's kept the

nasdaq out performing, if you will, is the fact the health care names today are on fire a lot are big cap names at all-time highs, talking about the by bioteches, number of others as well. vertex and there's others like cerner at an all-time high also anthem as well slumping off the high from this morning. that's moving things higher and a number of consumer names today in play as we talk about this mobile consumerism. starbucks hitting a high not withstanding the backlash over the race together, but you can order, pay, and get your coffee delivered via your phone on starbucks, and facebook is going to let you send cash via messenger, what does that mean for ebay? that's why they are down today. back to you. >> let's go to dom chu for a market flash. >> yelp down 4% after a trailer

for a documentary film called "billion dollar bully" suggesting the company features negative reviews for businesses who do not pay to advertise on yelp's platform and says some of the business practices are similar to those of the mafia. shares fell sharply at the open hovering near session lows. we reached out to yelp for a comment. we'll get back to you when we hear. small caps getting a boost. russell 2,000 off the all time high hit yesterday, but the next guest says small caps are less exposed to currency volatility and maybe a good bet for the market versus the large cap multinationals. eric marshall, co-manager of the five star small cap fund. great to see you. as i mentioned, the russell k2k, nonetheless, where are you finding value?

>> at the highest point, we don't see the market as being inexpensive here but not overly expensive either. i think we have to look at areas of the market that are either overlooked or somewhat misunderstood. we are finding areas like that are where we are finding good opportunities to find value. >> let's dig deeper into the names here. top of the list is cree down 40% in 12 months. are you not worried about the story here? would you do a little bottom fishing? >> well this is a relatively new name for us that we've been watching for a long time. it's one of the stocks relatively overlooked. they have suffered from overcapacity in the led industry. these are led chips and lighting products, and that stems from a lot of subsidies that came out of china, and now that demand is starting to work through that

capacity, and we don't see those subsidies out there anymore, we think eventually the market becomes rational and cree is very well positioned as a leader in led lighting. >> how long,ering have you own that particular holding in your fund and did you write it down? now, i guess, you are writing it up? it's up a little bit so far this year. >> yeah. this is a new idea. just in the last month or so. >> okay. >> let's move on to the other names. you got trinity industries. over the past 12 months down about 8%. what's the story there? why do you like it? you know it's one of the things where i think it's being quoted as a little bit misunderstood. >> yeah. that's a good way to describe it. trinity is thee leading producer of rail car, and they have been perceived as being heavily tied to crude oil, making tank cars with all the uncertainty surrounding government regulations, those that going to be out in may, the stock has

pulled back because of that uncertainty, and we'd be really good about the business long term, and we like the non-car part of the business which is picking up, sitting with record backlogs backlogs. company guided for $4 to $4.40 in earnings trading less than ten times earnings here. it's misunderstood because of the exposure to the energy industry. >> good explanation. shoe carnival the last pick, up 8%. thank you for joining us. >> thank you. mandy, is the bond market broken? the issue in the 22 trillion global market making traders raise a red flag. looking at that and hunting for stocks to fuel the market higher. dom chu has three names he says are ready to pop. >> here's what the thing is. it's the blend between technical analyst, chart watching and the fundamentalist analyst take put those together, we have 15 names total, bringing you three after the break.

the nyse. do people feel the path of least resistance is up from here? >> absolutely. it has been an epic 24 hours in the world of currencies. a round trip for the dollar. first plunging after the fed meeting, and then recovering. they are making it clear they are in no hurry to rise interest rates with the dollar's first climb hurting exports and inflation rates. as said yesterday, the federal reserve finally entered the currency war. the question from here is can the fed really talk down the dollar, and the answer, according to most strategists today, is no and they expect the dollar throughout the year and into next year but the fed can slow down the climb, and after all, the u.s. economy is stronger than the rest of the world, and especially as the u.s. shakes off the frigid weather, the port dispute, and eventually the federal reserve will lead to higher interest rates. that's why the view today is get

used to a stronger dollar and if you want to bet on a bullish dollar, buy etf, uup like a stock that invests in dollar futures, one of the most popular and most liquid but even if the dollar keeps moving up here, it probably won't be a stunning move that we have seen almost 30% against the euro just over the last year because the fed is now engaged. >> that's important, mentioning it specifically. thank you very much. let's flip over to what precious metals are up. gold closing now. we're up by 1.5% there. we hit a two week high earlier. moving out to jackie at the imex to see what's happening with gold. >> good afternoon. it's interesting sarah talked about the rise in the dollar and metals are are bucking the trend, up across the board today, and we are seeing a big move for gold today, $16 over the crucial 11.50 level, and

or keep it simple the rubber band stretches back and that indeed is the case today. let's look at two-day charts two-day of five year you see about half back in terms of its big drop in yields and it is up eight basis points today. the other end of the curve, 30 years, there's less than half back, and they are up about 3 points. look at what's going on in bunds, they fell in yield and stuck down in the under 20 basis point yield, and keep with the european theme, two day of euro versus dollar pretty much gave it all back. look at the hyg, barometer of credit risk yes, giving it back as well. like yesterday, well it's like it never happened. back to you. >> rick thank you very much. tesla's ceo elan musk ening range anxiety in the electric calls, but investor anxiety is another matter. the stock down 10% on the year. we have a bull on the stock.

are not far from the historic high, the old high back on march 2. the closing high. that's 25 points away. as for the overall markets, i keep calling it ground hog day because the same thing seen throughout march, energy stocks and materials, the commodity complex, the sectors, crushed again due to the strong dollar weak oil, and financials weak because of the low rates and industrials squeak on growth concerns overall. where are we in the tightening sickle? that's why we can't agree. we asked our friends, assume six months away from the fed tightening, what happens in the period? three times we go this 99, 9 had 4 in 2004 and the s&p was up in the six month period every single time and the average gain was respectable, 7.65%. not surprisingly tech the main gainer. there were a number of gainers, but tech up 13%. what happens after that, and you go into a tightening cycle? the s&p, the three times it happened, the s&p was down every

time going into it three months after the tightening started. not surprising financials are the bigger decline because of the interest rates moving up. that made some sense, surprised to see healthcare saw some note m declines as well. sometimes things do not work out the same but by and large, this is the kind of pattern we expect to see. the question is is it six months from now, the fed tightsens? we don't know. that's roughly the september period that's why i chose that way of looking at things. >> i like the way you put it. we don't know. they have not told us, right? why would they for that matter? thank you very much bob. bertha at the nasdaq out of the three, only one above water today. >> not just that but getting back to the 5,000 level we briefly crossed yesterday in the furry of that rally following the fed decision. today, though you have seen a number of names, sell the news apple today, joining the dow, it's lower, and look at tesla,

notwithstanding the much touted announcement of tesla about range anxiety up earlier this week today cannot get big. we'll talk about that coming up. but chips today are know actually getting stronger on the day, and a number of them that are components and a lot like nspi al-time highs today, as well as bioteches. that's interesting. despite the data, they are defieing expectations and rising higher at all time highs today, and, mandy, if you had bought them 20 months ago when janet yelp said they were overvalued, you are up over 50%. >> wow. i'll take that. thank you very much. as we can see, stocks are mixed, the day after the fed removed patience from a statement. how do you invest in the choppy market? joining me now is our u.s. investment strategist and jim, chief investment officer at pnc

asset management. christina, you first of all. feels like the market is bipolar. happen one day, sad the next like ground hog day, right? what do you think is going to be the most important driver going on from here? is it passing the fed? is it something like oil? is it the strong dollar? which is the dominant theme? >> the fed. what we think is happening today is the market is rethinking reaction to yesterday's announcement. obviously, very positive reaction yesterday, not so much today because there's more reading into this. they removed the patience language, and so what we have open to us is the possibility of a june rate hike. don't discount that. >> they removed patience but at the same time lowering the inflation projections, lowering growth projections. don't you think they inferred the need through the main patient? >> what they gave the sense of was that the path of rate hikes is going to be very different and much lower, but it does not necessarily mean they are going to change the start, the liftoff

date. >> would you agree, jim? are you reading, you know, as christina was saying feels like the market is reading the statement differently today than yesterday. what do you think is the correct reading? >> there's no doubt, probably more balanced approach is the right way to go. there's no doubt they had a decidingly more dovish tone certainly in lowering growth expectations and that path of interest rates, but we think the july is still our base case and it's likely for june for increase as it is in september, and i think as the fed said, they are going to look at the data so if we have stronger rebound off the soft patch seen in the first couple months here a better march and april in data, we'll bring june back into the picture again. >> but, okay but here's a question for you, jim. whether it's july whether it's june, september, for a longer term investment does it matter what the liftoff month is? >> oh yeah. we've been saying that for a while, mandy.

not really. increase in rates is coming. good news against that backdrop is the u.s. economy continues to improve. solid labor data. improving economic data the consumer is certainly benefitting from low energy prices and so the backdrop there is positive, and rate increase, whether it's june or september against that backdrop is a positive and not something really to wring your hands about. >> what are the implications here? even the rate hike be honest, off low levels easy global monetary backdrop. which asset class does it benefit? >> rates lower for longer focus on higher yielding asset classes, find income. short term high yield option makes sense in the environment. we also want to be concerned about the implications of tightening in the united states, which is a stronger dollar. >> right. >> so we need to be aware of that, and with what the ecb is doing, we probably want some

we're evaluateing is the san francisco to seattle route, and we're now almost able to travel all the way from san francisco to seattle without the driver touching any controls at all. so that's pretty exciting. >> that is exciting a tesla analyst at northland capital markets, colin, welcome, great to have you with us. >> thank you. >> your price target on the stock is aggressive, $298. the stock is a hundred dollars lower than that. when do you expect it to get there and how? >> you know nice to see these software updates where they are flushing out the paradigm of electric vehicles, and they are essential changes they need to make to really enable mass adoption of the technology. as we look out, the valuation we're looking at right now discounted out to 2020, and they need to execute on the model three widely available car to be executed in a lot of adoption of that car, plus the gig factory

driving the costs out of the manufacturing model, and those are two things we're looking at with valuation on the stock, which is at stake for investors now and why we don't have reaction to the stock on the news today. >> by 2020 we get to the $298. >> that's actually not correct. we're looking at a discounted motd model in the 2020, it's a 12 month price target. >> discounted out to 2020. thanks for correcting me on that. >> right. >> is the factory likely to be a revenue driver for the company or just something they use to build batteries for the vehicles? >> undoubtedly it's a revenue driver for the company. not only is it caking costs out of the supply chain, but they take batteries and put them in stationary storage applications. we increased price target based on lower risk of the factory because the batteries can get adopted being attached to the grid and not just mobile vehicles. >> quickly, he said he would

the past six months crude down 50%, and brent down 40%. >> and oil plunges, the energy sector share 18 % of the value over the past six months so there is one area of the oil patch that's not only bucking the sector slump, but outperforming the broader market. morgan bren nan is drilling down on it, if you'll excuse the pun. what are we talking about? >> it's an appropriate pun. before we get to it i'll stand corrected and say we showed you a mystery chart coming into the break before and that chart was tosero up 25%. this goes to the group we're talking about, refiners. no surprise. in general, this refining sub sector is on a tear up 13% since the start of 2015 and that is versus the broader energy sector which has lost 5%. why are we seeing this? well, cheaper crude means lower costs for refiners. better than that, when the price

spread between west texas intermediate wydens you see it there, with brent at $9 more right now, that pushes u.s. refiners to use less expensive oil and sell petroleum to prices tied to brent at the international benchmark. refiners' best position to benefit this year will be those that have operations in the middle of the country where they get the bigger crude price discounts, but also higher prices on the products they sell versus the gulf coast. >> marion petroleum? >> it fits the bill. up 10 11% so far this year but analysts consensus according to facts that the stock shows it could increase 15% over the coming months. two others analysts like? well, valero up 22%, a whopping 22 % this year but it could rise another 13%. another one, phillips 66. this could increase another 16% over the coming months as well and, guys, if you just don't

reminers, the excellent piece there, i don't know if you talked about it on fast money, dk i think they own one refinery, the best performing refining stock year to date up about 39%. >> take a look at a lot of them, brian, wnr, west refinery 52-week highs, they are zand standouts through this year in the oil sector. >> yes, only index or industry where you say crack spread and mean it with a straight face. >> right seriously. >> it's not bad. it's a real term. thank you. lawmakers debate a 40--year-old ban on u.s. exports now. let's go down to washington, d.c. to check in. >> brian i don't know how to follow that, but melissa talked about crude inventory records we're seeing. here's a stat put out by the u.s. government today that blew my mind this morning. u.s. commercial crude inventory's at the end of february provided the most days of supplies since the mid-1980s according to the energy

administration, part of the u.s. government. that, guys is an oil glut and that's part of the reason why the oil industry was here on capitol hill today pushing an end on ban on u.s. oil exports that's been in place since the oil shock of the 197 o s. cono conoco's ceo made the case. take a listen. >> exports would expand all supplies driving gasoline prices down, and the savings are at least 7 to 12 cents per gallon. with exports, u.s. refiners still have all the light all they need. they will still have an advantage over our competitors elsewhere due to shipping costs. >> the critics say nonetheless if the united states ended its ban on oil exports, part of the unintended consequence would be higher prices here in the united states, and also it could shift vis-a-vis, saudi arabia a poke in the eye to them something the united states might not want

to do in the short term, guys a big debate on capitol hill. no chance politically this is going to change any time soon, but the fact they are discussing it tells you where we are in terms of the oil glut. >> all right, thank you very much. powerful debate. hearing from spokes in spokane, it's 11 not noon i screwed that up. thank you very much. >> you bet. >> check out the names in oil, oil-related stocks in the s&p 500, of them all these three fell the most from the 52-week high. transocean, 6 7% off the high within the past 12 months and ensco plc, down 61%, and denbury resources down 57% from the 52 week high. are they shorting the stock? real opportunities here? or because they are, quote, cheaper, does that make them a bargain? let's bring in matt with tortoise capital advisers the firm deals solely with energy. where do you see value? when i look at a name down 60% over 12 months i think, eventually it's going to go back, or there's a reason and it does not deserve anybody's

money right now. >> well we see some good opportunities in energy right now, and, you know frankly, i think the price is unsustainably low for crude oil, and so you know, we are advising investors to make long term investment decisions and over the long term say you have a year-plus time horizon, we think it is a good time to buy energy stocks. i would not necessarily recommend some of those you mentioned there, but we do have a lot that we like in the energy space. >> that's the key because if you're thinking about buying oil related stocks, correct, matt, you have to know what balance sheets weather the storm. we had bund pickings saying oil 7 70 by the end of the year, who am i to argue? what if it does not? what if it's 4 bucks for four years, what do you think have balance sheets to weather it? there's more quick silver resources that file for bankruptcy if, indeed this happens. >> yeah, you know we have a high quality investment approach. you think about this securities

that we're focused on we're looking for the pipeline investments in the mlp space. there's a lot of winners, and in this sector you think about a company like midstream partners. they have the large education refining network product in the country. they are benefitting from lower field prices driving increase and demand, a solid balance sheet, dividend coverage growing 15% this year. high quality company we see good long term total returns in. >> matt you like some of the refiners, valero phillips 66 among them. what spread are the stocks pricing in now, where does the spread remain? >> watch them closely. for an investor willing to deal with commodity price volatility we like refiners specifically phillips and valero. they are not pricing in current spreads. we see upside in the stocks again, benefits from lower crude

prices and higher demand that i mentioned, and the gasoline prices are being set off brent crude, and so to the extent that our, you know wti or domestic prices stay discounted relative to global prices that's the advantage for the guys but it's more than just the crack spread talking about these refining stocks. nay are also investing a lot in their pipeline infrastructure, and taking that pipeline infrastructure putting in the limited partnerships they formed, and we see a big value pick up from that over the long term so interesting short term play in a low crude price environment, but also have good longer term outlooks tied to the change in highlights value in the companies. >> matt a pleasure great discussion. we appreciate it, thank you. >> thank you. >> all right meantime shares of tesla dropping the company anoujsed a new software update for the cars. phil lebeau the stock is down 1.5%. phil? >> the software update 1 one where people looked and said that's it? it's not the most important news

in the world. it was billed as an update to end range anxiety. here's essentially what tesla pushes out to the model s vehicles over the next ten days once the update is pushed think. range assurance meaning you will be assured that you are going to have enough juice to make it to the next charging station, the vehicle will monitor it tell you about it trip planner, making sure you can go to test nations and always have a place to charge up and, finally, safety feeshs including blind spot monitoring, collision avoidance avoidance, that's being pushed off in the latest software update. the stock is under pressure because leading into today, people thought, well listen if they do something that could dramatically alter the range of the model s, it's a game changer, but the features, even have been implemented in other vehicles like the leaf. people looked and said oh what's the big news here? oh the news came during the conference call from elon musk. he teased out the next software

update in three months will include an auto steering feature allowing you to drive auto pilot on the highway, no hands on the steering wheel, don't worry about controlling, acceleration and braking. they are already testing this between san francisco and seattle. here's elon musk in the conference call talking about the feature that's coming in three months. >> so there's an expectation when auto pilot in the model s enabled when you are paying attention, that it should take care of you if you have moments of distraction. >> how are you doing to be certain that folks are paying attention? >> well you can't be 100% certain. in fact, i would say, right now in cars that do not have auto pilot, i'm certain there times when people do not pay attention. >> guys set the clock now, melissa, because in three month, they roll out the feature, a lot of people are going to say, what are the regulators going to say, and, also, oh this is pretty interesting. we are now entering the true age of auto pilot driving and

says something. i think the bigger picture here and the really big news as phil just said, is that magic word -- that couple words, three months. every three months this car company is evolving its product. that's the big news. that's what makes tesla different from the rest of the auto industry. today, it has about 2 % of the equity value of the 1.2 trillion dollar automotive industry. that, i think, is undervalued. >> but in a world, drew where oil prices remain at $40, $45, call it that, can tesla reclaim its highs? say, for argument's sake that crude remains where it is for the next 12 months. >> i think it can. that's a tough -- that's a difficult proposition you've begin me because the electric battery is the biggest part of

here's richard managing director e richard, why the move? what do you see out there that worries you a bit? >> well you know there's a modest pickup in u.s. growth and two and three quarters percent, and we see modest pickup in growth in europe. downgrading our outlook for china and some of the key emerging markets. the global economy as a whole, roughly 2.8 to 3% growth in that range. >> solve the problem, we heard from the federal reserve yesterday, they, obviously, backed off their progressive projections, dovish and i'm not going to toot the horn but for a couple months, i've been taking heat for it the u.s. economy could suffer from lower oil prices. that's not just all good news because of lower gas prices. how do you at pimco view the lower oil price scenario in the frame of reference vis-a-vis the overall economy? >> there's a couple factors, one, lower oil prices are a net positive for the u.s., more

winners than losers. the real head wind for the u.s. economy potentially is stronger dollar. exports are soft. chair yellen referred to it both in the press conference and in the statement, so to the extent there's a head wooind to the u.s. this year it's more from the export side than from lower oil prices which are a net positive. >> why do you think the dollar is a net negative? we're a net importer buy and manufacture more stuff overseas than we send. if i make appliances or apparel, i'm now getting a discount on the stuff i make. >> well absolutely although it takes some time for those exchange rates to pass through to consumers, but what we are seeing is a slow down in exports. it's clear in the data the fed referred to it and, ncht, the fed's own models indicate a sustained rise in the dollar we've had slows growth by half a percent or more over the next couple years. >> so strong dollar, maybe not strong economy? i thought they went together, richard. >> well, again, it depends on the source of that.

again, our view in the u.s. is relatively optimistic. the u.s. will grow above trend this year, and the u.s. is one of the bright spots in the global economy with europe and japan growing much more slowly. u.s. will probably grow faster this year than brazil for example, the u.s. is a star student, but the global economy is going through, you know, going through a period here especially with some of the slow downs in the emerging economies. >> we called it hope for four years on the program. appreciate it, buddy. well, this chart of the 10 year treasury yield says a lot. nose diving after the fed signalled a cautious outlook for growth, the ten year yielding just below 2 % at 1.9, calling it 7, and there's big concerns brewing there in bond land about liquidity, and michelle caruso-cabrera is here with the jitters on liquidy. >> people have a hard time

trading bhonds youtrade ing bonds. specifically the corporate bond market. there are also concerns about the treasury market in the united states and government bonds as well. here's how one described the liquidity problem today on "squawk box." >> the market really does not have liquidity. if you really go out to sell bonds today, there's no bids in the market. they are saying what if there is a dramatic sell off in the markets. >> you really -- >> the problem is particularly acute for corporate bonds because new regulations made it much more expensive for investment banks to act as market makers. the intermediaries who buy and sell bonds hold more capital, and then the rule leads back to inventories, the bonds kept in waiting until the customer called to buy one. here's the chart. it's gone down. the institute for international finance, center of financial stability barclays citi numerous managers express deep

concerns about not getting trades done. ceo of deutsche bank on last month saying lack of liquidity is a major market concern. this problem is also a problem for government debt but for another reason. central banks around the world, particularly europe, gobbling the stuff up to try to stimulate their economies. the u.s. just stopped doing that, but the ecb just started, buying government and corporate debt. why should you care? when you don't have liquidity, the very action you take of buying or selling something can move the price of what you buy or sell leading to huge price swings. particular worry etfs that hold bonds. the underlying bonds move sharply leads to major moves in the values of the etfs that retail investors did not expect when they thought they bought something stock-like. brian, melissa, could be painful. >> we'll talk about it. thank you, thoroughly reported there. the next guest says it's an issue, but fed be darned he cares less about the fed.

working in the space. some of the names folks tell me have similar drugs in the pine line include lily which had failed in two other trials trying in another one, and there's also rosch, drugs working in a similar target and others are merck, working on different ways but thinking who could move here on the data and analysts say lilly is potentially the one there because the drug works in a similar way, and it did move sympathetically. >> good news for lilly, and mean bad news for the others? >> not necessarily. we talked about this maybe a rising tide lifts all boats here. it's been tough. if it works, it's good news for everybody. >> interesting to see the stock reaction if it's going to be a sell news event because every single day this week, we've seen biogen hit new highs on the session. >> so much optimism going into the data. everyone thinks they will be so good. they trust the management team.

about 50 billion a year in excess cash flow to buy back stock to continue paying dividends so there's a significant amount of money returned to shareholders in a significant amount of money that continues to be invested in innovation innovation. >> thank you for the time. >> all right guys thank you. time now for our new daily segment we call trading nation one asset, two points of view because traders trade better together. we are looking over bond yields where they are going after the fed's statement yesterday and moves in the bond market and what it means for your portfolio, larry mcdonald, and erin gibbs with s&p capital iq. larry, do you see yields? ten year is the proxy going lower or higher from here? >> well, remember brian, there's different things that are running yields. one is the u.s. economy. two, the international economy. there's systemic risk around the world. from time to time number three

rears its ugly head. today you have greece yields above 12 % for the first time in two years. that's going to put some buying pressure on treasuries in the short term. >> as you pointed out, larry, in many asset classes in credit there's more stuff outstanding now than there was pre-financial crisis. how big a risk do you believe that poses? >> well our team we're led by a chief economist spot on in terms of the forecast. they said the fed would keep patience in and have a top-down on the dots. that's all true but the amount of -- the amount of debt in the world that's tied to oil is up to 2.5 trillion in emerging market and corporate debt, and as oil goes lower, that creates systemic risk that actually can put all these forecasts at risk.

>> that's rights. we talked about it many times on the program, and i've done it for midland, et cetera, that's why this is different than 2008 for oil. e erin, when yields fall people rush like sheep. is it time to get back into the stocks, or let them go and go on to something else? >> so this time as larry sort of indicated, it's really more about what's happening outside the u.s. and because these are largely pushed -- rates pushed down because we see such low rates in europe particularly because of the ecb quantitative easing program, i see that investors shifting, they are likely to shift more into european equities versus u.s. equities. we have a big dividend play back in 2012-2013 when the fed rates were first lowered in the u.s. this time i see a lot more potential in finding that pattern with high dividend

where have they been? 97% gain year to date. >> there has been a lot of positive analyst buzz in the last month or so. deutsche bank higher all positive notes here. we note pipeline includes treatments for stress related disorders so there's a lot of drugs coming out in the near future. next up, we talked about this with meg. there's a lot of bullishness in the data release tomorrow on the alzheimer's drug and yet even though every single day the stock hits new highs, credit squeeze comes out to raise the price target to $500 a share from $400 which it already passed implying a 17 % upside from yesterday's close. it is, by the way, a new high today. >> it is. i want to keep something in mind for people owning it the average target of analyst is 427, about $10 below, nine bucks below the current price, just something to watch out for. all the analysts together have a
