right now we have multiple roving bull markets and bear markets. all over the place the dow advanced 28. s&p up 0.4%. a bull one day could turn to bear the next day and vice versa. let's take them individually because you need to evaluate this market. by sector, not the s&p let's start with oil and gas, which had a nice rally today when it comes to energy we have a big problem in the country by the way, we are the largest producer of oil in the world the permian basin in west texas, it's landlocked. there is not enough pipe to take it to the gulf coast this kind of crude from the permian trades at a big discount today oil roared crude touching $80

west texas cruise rising 70. our producers can make an auto lot of money even if they take it by truck, rail, whatever. this group is on fire. this is a violent move hence, whey a major independent like die mack back rallied $4 in a single session that's total bull market behavior from a group that had been in bear market mode for angs you could argue one day does not a bull make, but not many people are betting on oil recommending these stocks is a contrary call. i bet an analyst comes ougt tomorrow if the oil gets sponsorship i bet their stocks could go up substantially and big from here. my favorite bp, british petroleum, is the cheapest and fastest growing. 5.71% yield. the second roving bull market the soft good stocks this is a stealth bull

the weak dollar, perhaps because investors went yield or maybe because the stocks have been down so long they look up to me. people like the valuations one i don't care for is kraft heinz. they had a 4.2% yield. there is a possibility that they find a business to acquire or split to create value. they are smart guys. procter and gamble and kemberly cliek have been biding their time plus, i think the price increases announced last month are sticking that's a bullish sign. as i was putting together this piece i thought kellogg has been doing well colgate -- they are back they fit that same pattern final bull market, the telcos. that's right i'm thinking verizon, at&t see that stock centurylink, sprint, t-mobile. they moved up.

here is the strength it isn't just in dividends yea yeah, centurylink has a 9.42% yield. i think that's actually safer than i thought at one point. the rallies in t-mobile and sprint smack of somebody knowing something about how the federal government will handle the prospecti prospective merger i have been lackk at sprint and t-mobile how about the roving bear market holy cow some hideous action. this morning goldman sachs, whose stock isn't doing so well either, down 11 straight days, lowered the boom on the giant particular chip maker focused op drams and flash memory these are the building blocks of a sorts of devices micron is at 41. that's the definition of a bear markets. the semi conductors are also in

that mode. it's seen its stock pull from 234 to 150 no sign of a bottom. now yield is almost 3% i am waiting for the downgrade same goes for applied materials. 38 now we had nxp, remember, i think they are bringing jobs analy analyst meeting yesterday. the company was a subject of a takeover, they traded as high as 125. the deal is put, it hit a 52-week low of $84 that's actually pretty positive. the only unscathed chip maker is amd. last time we spoke to ceo lisa su she traced out her long-term plans to excel in gains. the stock is up 7% today it never quits even after the market closes.

this isn't a fly by night move there were 169 million shares traded i think you want to let the stock cool down. there are some gigantic institutions buying stock. i am a huge believer in su apple got hit today. it didn't runnam in advance of the iphone launch and went down when they were unveiled. nothing new except for the fact i got a new watch and i just got this watch and i like this watch. you know what? i got to upgrade the next one has a lot of health to it. the next bear market is social media. today we have a couple of incredibly negative notes, saying that the business is slowing dramatic that reflected poorly on facebook, which is battling its own demons, and on twitter i know this is a small work, but it is important. lately i have been hearing half-hearted defenses of facebook i believe the stock declined from 218 to 162 smacks of bear

market behavior. we still got gains i could see it sinking to 149 if we don't get good news soon. any good news. you whoe that the bear market also spilled over to alphabet. 18 bucks i mean, yes, a big cap stock i think it's stupid. if congress want alphabet in the same breath as facebook and twitter when it investigates social media, it's only fair get mauled, too. textbook bear market i don't care for emerging markets. hang seng down 21% russia down 21%. greece lost 29%. shanghai mostly larger capital gains in stocks, 26% down. shenzhen down 31%. i have historically tried to steer you clear of these areas i am proud of that josh brown disagrees i think i'm right. you want to avoid the emerging markets because it's all about

less this company has created a fantastic treasure hunt atmosphere high quality merchandising and incredible candy aisle, which you know i like. what was so great, the stock exploded higher last week. higher than expected revenue of 23% year over year also was looking for flat sales. huh-uh they grew 2.7% they opened 34 new stores. it's the regional national story that investors like me covet they think they can expand from less than seven hub stores to 2,500 across the country this concept is viable one of the many reasons i repeatedly endorsed this philadelphia-based chain they don't seem to be taking damage from the trade war from china. i am so excited about this let's bring in the president and ceo of five below to hear about the quarter. mr. anderson, welcome. good to see you, sir. >> how are you >> this is so exciting because i

tableau got hit with a slowdown in business. they spent a year in the doghouse in 2016, tableau was not a cloud play people thought it was. they confused it their main business came from selling old fashioned on premise software since then they have a new ceo he has taken the business in a new direction. they started selling software as a service fee as a subscription-based model we have seen the same thing from adobe and auto desk. both times it's been very lucrative for investors. it's already paying off. by 2017, tableau's revenue growth had slowed to a crawl, up 6% thanks to the strength of their subscription business, 2018 different. their current revenue increased by 181% in the latest quarter, which translated to a 32% total revenue gain, massive acceleration thanks to the cloud. up 66% for the year.

you know what? it's not done. i think there is more room it run. next is insane hub spot it's a software play their business is about capturing eyeballs, helping companies manage online content to bring in new users and sell more merchandise they are masters at it last week the company held its annual user conference called n inbound. they had 24,000 people attending. mea culpa there, too they had scaled to the point where existing customers keep using the software while new ones are joined by their track reco record hub spot is luring in new clients with the idea that they will pay only for better software they are raising prices and targeting larger enterprise, which is a sign of confidence. the stock sold off in august the quarter was strong, up 39%

38%. revenue growth, it's coming roaring back to 38%. the growth, guys, can't resist it i would be buying it the third is new relic here is a cloud prince that is almost ready to become a king. the platform keeps businesses -- keeps track of what is actuallyn real time. basically, it makes sure the digital trains running on time you might be aware of this one because we brought on the -- a half dozen times over the past few years. new relic is just an an gram of lucerne. new relic? you know now, over the past 12 months this stock has rallied -- glad we featured these guys -- 120 to%. 120% they didn't think it would happen until 2019. in 2018 they have continued to blow away the numbers. while the stock has been trading

sideways the past few months, i think it is just catching its breath i studied this company last night. okta this crowd prince is about digital security it helps companies with multifactor identification, meaning they prevent networks being infiltrated by impostors everyone is going to access their software via the web yes, it's the cloud. you need someone to handle the user names, passwords. last week the stock surged to new all-time highs get this it's up 185% for 2018. as far as the cloud princes go, okt is expensive as it gets. in april i told you it was too pricey it rallied 183%. i would like okta, you know, obviously for pull back.

atlassian, the athlete particularered tetickered company. basically, it makes software for software developers. think of this as a meta cloud prince it might be the purest way it play the cloud because many of these companies developed cloud-based software using atlassian's tools. they are already a $21 billion company. they don't have the track record yet. they announced a big partnership with slack boys. the usually popular business platform it gave us a gigantic run since we had the ceo on the show last december i think it has more upside he wasn't exactly dressed like i am trust me bottom line. these cloud princes are more speculative, all right, than the kings. they are faster growing, but they are also a lot more

spotter technology this stock has been hot, quadrupling since the beginning of the year. why? shot spotter is a cloud-based software, a service play the cloud is one of the sexiest areas out there. it's reminisce ebt of axe on enterprise, formerly known as taser, that made a lot of people a lot of money as it transitioned into a cloud-based play third, it is doing very well it recently reported a surprise profit and still growing sales at a 50% clip. most important, shot spotter caught fire because it's a small cap stock that suddenly gained sponsorship from the wall street promotion machine. this was tiny with $135 million cap. then shot spotter started getting positive coverage from analysts, including jmp securities now it's a $642 million market gap. small, but bigger than nine

months ago let's say they put it on people's radar screens it's difficult to recommend this thing up here. right now shot spotter is trading at 19 times sale not 19 times earning 19 times sales that makes it more expensive than most of the cloud princes i recommended earlier but with a less proven track record who knows what could go wrong? not me in sport, it's too expensive i could have said the same thing in june when it was trading at 36, now it's at 59 if anything goes wrong shot spotter is coming down, coming down hard. i don't think it's worth the risk next up on july 9th my late father's birthday we heard from greg in texas. he wanted to know about turtle beach, which trades under the symbol here. this is a company that makes fancy headsets, including very popular gaming headsets. t it's stunning. they have rallied 1001% from

$1.81 to 22.$22.50 this is my executive producer's son's headset. he actually does this stuff. if you want to understand the strength of the video gaming business in general and esports in particular, this monster move tells the story. turtle beach became public in 2010 and in 2013 the stock imploded they spent years trading at single digits. when turtle beach was trading at a buck and change last year, there were questions about its viability as a growing concern, just as there are questions about my vie bt as a growing concern if i keep this thing on. so what explains the stock's miraculous resurrection? simple this rally is all about the rise of these insanely popular battle games like fortnite and player unknown's battle grounds these are multiplayer games. if you want to communicate, you

need a headset. you can't type when you are holding an xbox controller i don't know what, but turtle beach was the first with an xbox wireless combatable headset. that's how this company can put up some truly astounding numbers. the revenue growing more than 200% in the latest quarter its earnings in at 40 cents a share, wall street was looking for a two drecent loss. they doubled their earnings forecast that's how you get a 1,000% rally. using the new forecast, $1.95 better share this stock is darn cheap unlike shot spotter why? because most investors believe it's not sustainable it just so happens that turtle beach makes the most popular headset used the most popular game around at the moment. but any number of competitors could make headsets. and seen if they stay ahead of

the competition, what happens when everyone with an xbox or playstation already has one of these? i should ask my executive producer, her son gets school credit or he wouldn't get all the time doing this. maybe it helps him get a's i get that people want something close to a pure play on fortnite, but i can't recommend a company that makes headphones after the stock wunt from a buck and change to $22. turtle beach traded for 90 this is a boom and bust story. not like micron. if you own this one, i think you should ring the register if you want a company that makes headsets, i think logitech is a safer better bet that's my favorite in the group. a terrific ceo bottom line, speculative stocks like scatter shot and turtle beam might seem attractive i think you are better off steering clear of them
