release and vaccines the nasdaq declining seven base points had nothing to do with covid. it had everything to do with tesla emissions of s&p 500 that means the whole index needs to be rebalanced to make room for a stock that just won't quit tesla closed up to $39 it does not get high flying than tesla. to make room for tesla and s&p index funds. at the keep coming back to tesla because it captivated a whole generation of teslas who don't mind paying off a $60 billion

technology company that makes cars i think it is the most important story in years we have seen this before with jeff bezos netflix became a national past time, right tesla taking it up to 11. it becomes an ultimate love the product, buy the stock amazon and netflix have the same dynamics you don't see people worshipping bezos. they worship elon musk in a way tesla has been a lottery ticket for paying out for a youth number of people index funds can't give you terms. you don't have to like elon musk the guy called me a simulation

you should respect his ability to make money for you. i bet tesla is more upside as musk keeps meeting his target. i am thrilled the stock makes so much money, i am ecstatic that it helps a whole new generation fall in love like stock picking like i did in 1979 once the index fund is finished selling, i am betting santa claus rally resumes. with that in mind, let's go to our game plan. first of all. >> god, i have to work this weekend looking like this. i have saturday football we'll have to see the faith of moderna vaccine. the meeting on saturday and sunday is a formality. if everything goes as planned,

we'll come in on monday knowing that we have a second vaccine. they can't make a deal the next couple of days, well, that's negative if they give up on talks, if the moderna vaccine gets approved, i think that's terrific. that could bring in more new money to the stock market. we want this to continue there seems to be millions of vaccines lost in transition from the pfizer factory pfizer is saying they got millions of doses sitting at the white house or somehow who knows? hopefully things get sorted out over the weekend, too. i would not count on it. still, the situation is early. the moment the people get the

when you look at the skyrocket death toll is clear that we are doing something wrong. according to dr. minna from harvard. they should have been trying to turn out a lot of ever so slightly quality test with much shorter turn around. dr. mina's approach, well, it is pretty radical he says widespread of antigen tests at home could work if we can only take $1 billion to scale up production so every household in america could get a
6:16 pm
20 packs of these rapt tests let's go straight to the source of the professor of epidemiol y epidemiology, dr. mina, welcome to "mad money. >> thanks a lot, happeny to be here >> i have been following your work for a long time, you have been saying over and over again that we did not have the right amount of test and we did not know what we were doing. the way to stop the spread and this was literally in february, it was almost too late if we did some sort of kit that works and cheap, we may not let it happen. you saw it coming. >> yes, testing is front and center as one of the major problems throughout this pandemic especially in the united states. testing is the only way to know
6:17 pm
that they have it before they go on and infect other people it is the need for rapid and acceptable and frequent testing is huge. y yet, we have failed at every step to make it assessable to americans. >> we could inexpensively have strips that we can do at home that'll tell us whether we are infectio infectious >> right i have them here these are the paper strips it works just like a pregnancy test it is a paper strip, you swab the front of your nose and drop the swab into a small tube you put the paper strip into the tube one line means you are negative and two lines mean you are positive >> there is got to be some cash. >> well, you need doctors' care.
6:18 pm
it is not 100% accurate. none of those things hold water. none of those things hold water just like when we had pregnancy tests which i remember it was a battle for years eat can detect people long after the thin infectious. the people are not there anymore but the dna is still is. these antigen tests can pick up positive cases when they are infectious they do it in a time frame that's relevant. we continue to compare them to pcr based testing which the majority of time that somebody's pcr is ositive, they no longer have the infectious virus so these tests be negative. it makes it look bad but it is an accurate test 99% sensitivity
6:19 pm
to detect people when they are infectious >> and our country is using it and having good luck with it >> we start to see more and more country rolling it out we saw massive effort if you go out to the community, you test half of your community and you are able to capture all of those cases and stop them from transmitting in the next cycle, you are very quickly going to drop drop incidents ac the whole population >> this seems silly. you can't get infected by someone if that person is there to give you infection. so infections have to plummet.
6:20 pm
>> that's right. >> the whole idea that i would like to see is we scour these tests up sometimes they look like this. it has the piece of paper and side of it if we can sale icale it and we program that put into people's home it is $1 billion to scale these up and another 5 to $10 billion over the whole year to get all americans to be able to test, just to put it in perspective. that's like one, one thousand of what we have spent so far of this virus it is cheap, people brush their teeth, they use the coronavirus test twice a week. that's a minute out of people's week it takes about 30 seconds each time we do the test. that would be enough to give enough people understanding that they are infectious and they are able to stay home. even if we can stay home just
6:21 pm
for three or four days with the virus like this that's spreading so quickly that would be a massive gain to slow the spread of transmission. >> i am going on this campaign with you i have been thinking about this for a while. i have worked for the mask campaign your campaign is better than anything pushing with you hey, also, nobody makes any money off of it. maybe that's why maybe you and i are too cynical. dr. mina, thank you so much for coming on. i follow your stuff. that's dr. mina of epidemiology, making sense "mad money" is back after the break. this holiday at t-mobile,

fossil fuel sometimes in my life tonight we got another one that may be good. it is called pivotal investment, it is called two this is one of the quietest spac deal we have been talking about it it is not necessarily a bad thing. in fact, i think this is downright treatment store. xl developed electric fleet. they also got a realtime data monitoring and analytics platform that they sell as part of a service bundle. on top of that, xl fleet working on a full electric power trade they're doing businesses with some of the largest municipal truck fleet. fedex, coca-cola and verizon and
6:27 pm
both harvard and yelp. commercial trucks are built in two stages manufactures put together the vehicle and they send it to complete the assembly by adding specialize equipment neat power trains get added to trucks during the second stage electric vehicles are the future o of trucks. xl fleet comes up with their customer tailored approach sort of a gradual electrification.
6:28 pm
even hybrid class aid truck is fabulous for these environments and it will save the owner a fortune on fuel costs. b electric spac is on the road, it is real. they got 3200 of these systems installed. by the end of next year, deploying nearly 10,000. they have power trades giving them more than double. the fleet operator needs to make sure technology is reliable. every minute they're not running because they immediate maintenance when they're burning money. so the industry tends to be conservative about the new technology the combustion engine makes poisonous environment.

you know it works. if it rabreaks down, every automechanical fleet out there knows how to fix it. they perform there is a reason the fire department uses xl fleet technology all these electricspacs like t make detailed projection however, xl fleet is a little different. their forecast is much more substantial than what you see. the company already has 12-month rolling sale by $220 million average order sizes have skyrocketed. it was three times as high as 2019 imagine customers are going from a trial phase. xl fleet is on track to make 20
6:30 pm
million and revenue this year. 281 million in 2022. 647 million in 2023. pretty aggressive but look at this in 2024, we are talking about $1 trillion sales. usually, you got to take these projection first xl fleet seems like they got a great solution, i don't know what happens to them once the actual truck maker starts producing their own electric vehicles there is a bunch of start ups working on this and ford is coming out their own model these are two of the model that xl fleet converts. maybe they start selling the manufactures, either way it is
6:31 pm
something you got to keep an eye on second worry, xl fleet does a lot of business. it is totally broke right now because of the pandemic. does not look like they are getting bailed out pretty soon the world goes back to normal. now, pivotal investment works too. it shiure does not hurt. john ledecky, you may know him as the guy who owns the islanders. based on what we know about the deed pivotal $15 stock at $2.1 billion we get some clarity on that relationship with ford and f-150. this stock is cheap. something like quantum scape trading at ten times
