♪ and i will always love you ♪ i will always love you ♪ i will always love you >> houston should be at the grammys with the rest of the superstars, but instead her life ended on saturday in a beverly hills hotel room. an autopsy has been performed on her body, but it could take as long as eight weeks to get the toxicology results back. investigators say a guard found her unconscious in a bathtub. they performed cpr, but she was pronounced dead at the hotel. tmz reports that pill bottles were found at the scene courtesy of tmz. a picture of the 18-year-old daughter of whitney houston and bobby brown being rushed to a los angeles hospital.

seems she is okay. a source said she has since been released. tonight the music industry is honoring whitney houston at the grammiys. jennifer hudson is leading a musical tribute to a woman she considered a friend and an idol. i want to bring in case whoa is following the investigation closely into houston's death. it's good to talk to you and get the behind the scenes information. you mentioned we have heard from the coroner in the case. take us deeper inside of this investigation. >> that's right, don. you mentioned the coroner came out and revealed that the autopsy on whitney houston's body has been completed. he said there were no visible signs of trauma and foul play is not suspected at this time. that is about all that he would say. that is because the beverly hills police department has requested that a security hold be placed on the results of this

autopsy. that is to allow the investigation to proceed. there were many people at the beverly hilton hotel when whitney houston died. the coroner is saying that these types of security holds are very common, especially in high profile celebrity deaths. one was placed on the autopsy of michael jackson for example. the coroner is saying he would not discuss reports of prescription medication. bottles found in whitney houston's hotel room or any other possibility that any drugs may or may not have been found there. he is saying he will not have further comment until perhaps wednesday of this week. as you mentioned, the toxicology results will not be available for perhaps to eight weeks according to the coroner. we may not know what killed whitney houston for quite sometime. >> for came as a shock to a lot

of people when we learned about bobbi krstina had to go to the hospital twice. she has been released. do we know where she is now? >> our understanding as you mentioned is this afternoon she was taken to cedars sinai here in los angeles and she was there for a couple of hours. she has been released according to sources and she is traveling back to new jersey we are told to be with family. >> thank you very much. good job on reporting the inside of this investigation. we will look to you throughout the weeks until we get the toxicology results. whitney houston's ex-husband bobby brown did note join bandimates at a new edition tour in nashville. outside the metro nashville auditorium, what is the mood there tonight? what's going on? >> not the mood you expect at a regular concert.

this concert was just about to start a few minutes ago when he went inside. when women went to the front door, this is what they saw that bobby brown would not appear with new edition. fans could get their money back if they chose to do so. people seemed to understand what's going on. obviously bobbi kristina was in a hospital with a nonlife-threatening condition. they are supporting the family and want to be here for bobby brown, but being here is bitter sweet. take a listen. >> i would love to have seen bobby tonight. i saw bobby years ago in south carolina. he was awesome then and i was looking forward to it, but i understand he needs to be with his daughter. >> my heart goes out to him and his family and whitney's family. i understand what he is dealing with and when i heart he was at a concert and heard, i expected for him to leave immediately and the fact that he came to nashville not knowing he was

going to do the show or not, but hearing his daughter was in peril and left, again, as my friend said, he had to go. >> bobby brown was here at one point, but he left the city. he is not speaking on camera at this point, but he did release this statement i would like to read to you. he said i am deeply saddened at the passing of my ex-wife, whitney houston. at this time we ask for privacy, especially for my daughter. i appreciate the condolences towards my family and i at this most difficult time. the people are happy to support bobby brown and his family. some people miss seeing him, but they understand, don. . >> yeah. thank you very much. i should tell viewers, they are not saying this, but bobby came to l.a. to bring his daughter back to the east coast. we will see and work on getting more information on that.

>> her tour was reportedly plagued with vocal difficulties. her reps blamed an upper respiratory infection. in 2011, her publicist said she was seeking help for her addiction. she was said to appear in the film sparkle. her first role since the preacher's wife in 1996. her sudden death shocked fans and musicians across the world. >> i am absolutely devastated by this news. i am so sad for her. she was undoubtedly one of the greatest superstars of all time. one of the greatest voices, you know, in our lifetime that we will ever see.

the vote inside this greek parliament was never seriously em banked. the bill was overwhelmingly approved. greece gets the bailout funds it desperately needs to avoid bankruptcy. a chaotic crash out of the euro. the prime minister again stressed how important it was for the country to avoid default, telling lawmakers that the decision would be historic and set the course for greece's future. >> translator: it would be a catastrophic bankruptcy and the social cost is limited in comparison with economic and social disaster. it would follow and interrupt it. >> here in the square, the anger in greek public opinion turned to violence. tens of thousands of protesters

clashing with riot police, setting buildings on fire and fighting battles in the streets. tear gas clogged the air and stun grenades had the worst violence greece has seen in years. the government may have passed these measures, but many greeks are bitterly angry after two years of painful cuts and deep recession. they are now expected to cut even more. matthew chance, cnn, athens. >> the arab league is proposing a daring plan to end the bloodshed in syria. the league wants to work with the united nations to send a force to monitor a ceasefire. the decision follows a brutal week in syria and activists say at least 23 people were killed. it's not clear whether they would sign on to a new plan or

center. is the cold weather going to hang around for tomorrow morning's commute? >> we had a lot of trouble today, especially in the lone star state. texas has been hit hard. take a look at the pictures. this is outside amarillo where interstate 40 was shut down for a while due to the snow and flan has been coming down in this area. a lost accidents occurred and the back up with lots of semis were jackknifed in the area as well. snow coming down and i-40 with a big thoroughfare. i-20 as well. this will continue into tomorrow and the storm system. we had two of them. one in the plains and one out west. this is what we will track in the week ahead. places like kansas city and des moines and st. louis. by the afternoon and likely a wintry mix. that's the pink we worry about where the roads are really, really slick. we think dallas probably mostly

and kind hearted. i had met her early on because i knew so many of the same people that she knew. michael jackson and all the people that i knew through dream girls and then aretha franklin and singers and staff. i got to know her just as a nice person. she was always very kind-hearted. when i had fallen upon hard times and lost my home and trying to get my career back together, she stepped in to try to figure out how are you going to get work and how are you going to do it? she would offer me jobs and one time she had a birthday party and said i can book to you sing for that. she and i were label-mates. i did one album for them and saying for the clive davis party which she was always at. she personally took me around to people and introduced me and

personally saw after me. she was always trying to show that she cared about people. she was also that same way with her musicians early on. i learned from her how to treat musicians in terms of her piano player who was a musical director. she loved them and his death was one of her first tragic deaths of the loss of the piano player and how she cared for them and the family. she always has been a very caring person. i think it got all mixed up because she didn't have a lot to say about a lot of things, meaning i'm deep and analytical, but you didn't feel darkness from her. you know you can get that from some people, some artists. they feel dark and secretive. you didn't feel that. you felt a light from her. she was always uplifting and trying to help people by connecting them. >> jennifer holliday, also one

how are you doing? >> i'm doing much better now, thank you. i was in shock and like most of the world, but now i'm going to celebrate her life and to pass on the love for her music and the love for her. >> let's go back to the beginning. as they call her, nippy. some people call her whit or nippy. she is say young kid with all this talent and puts off the albums and boom, it was a rocket ride to the top. >> that's correct. she had all the talent in the world and the good looks to go with it and the push for clive davis and the company behind her and all the great producers helping to work on it. it was a wonderful time in life. an absolute wonderful time. >> did you guys become close and if so, did you remain close? what was your relationship like? >>y remained close through her

life and i was very happy to -- i know at the very beginning. >> what was it? like 7 or 8 number ones on the album? >> i'm not sure of the number, but i know how will i know was the fourth single. >> tell me about your relationship. we saw the public part of her. we saw her in concert and the relationship with bobby brown. what was it like working with her inside and outside of work? in the studio and out. >> she was a very sensitive woman and comes from blue blood royalty with her mom and her dad

and dad, john houston who had since passed away. she was very, very sensitive. approaching her and being with her, she had to know she could trust you. you were on her side and you were there for her. she could put her hair down with you. that was letter a to give her the love and the trust. flowers or's tidy bear and put on sandals and to make it feel homey and relaxed. we can get on to the wonderful. she taught me how to make the best recordings. she 4 a great sense of humor. loved to laugh and be happy. like electricity going through her. she was a leo and her heart was full of fire and very dynamic person. beautiful person.

everyone loved to approach her. that was a wonderful quality she had. >> funny you should say that. i have an older sister who has the same personality as whitney houston. she is lisa. she is a leo as well. i don't want to dwell on this, but what did you know about her struggles and i ask because i wondered if you tried to help her through or give her guidance. not to dwell on the negativity, but were you there for her and did you try to talk to her? >> she's always known i was there for her. that's as far as i can go with that. she always has been there. she always wants to go over a new song or a project. we have always been close. last time i saw her was with her and her daughter, bobbi and warwick and all together. she was very happy.
