in other news, a 10-year-old boy is dead this morning. one other person clinging to live after a display sign fell on them in an airport in birmingham, alabama. the report was the sign of arrivals and depart inners fell on the child and his three siblings and mother. injuries to the other kids are not known at this point. >> the family was crushed. the little kid was crushed under the sign. everybody was scattering to lift it up. i helped to lift it up and help pull people out. >> the accident happened in a new section of the airport that opened this month. investigators are trying to figure out why that sign fell. the forced spending cuts. they are kicking in forcing the faa to close air traffic control towers at 149 regional airports across the country and that's 40 fewer than initial thought.

it will save the faa $36 million. they are worried about safety with fewer working towers. to see a full list of the closing towers go to cnn.com. and a business passenger entered the cockpit while posing as a pilot. the police arrested the wine maker. he did not know how to strap himself in the jump seat. police say the fake pilot said, quote, he hated americans, but there is no signs so far his act is being linked to terrorism. in georgia a 14 and 17-year-old are in custody charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of a 13 ye 13-month-old boy. two men approached the mother

while pushing the boy in a stroller, but the aunt says her nephew could not have been there. >> i am devastated. i am sad because they got the wrong person. i hate what happened to that baby because know baby deserved to go through that, but at the same time they are taking somebody to jail that is innocent. i am 100% he was not at that crime scene, he was at my residence. >> have police responded to that woman's claim? >> police have not responded to that specific claim, but after the police conference yesterday i asked the police how could you be so sure you got the right guys? police said the arrest came as a result of the physical description given to them as a mother, and they cross-referenced area schools with attendance records of who was missing that day.

only 15,000 people in the town, and it's a type of place that everybody knows everybody. we stopped at a gas station to get the morning paper and i asked the gas attendant what do you think? do you think they got the right guys? he said this is a small town, and not only am i positive i am sure they got the right guys. people here are talking in confidence that the arrests were the right ones. >> when you see the picture of the middle baby, it breaks your heart. i understand helicopters and police dogs were used to search for the suspects. what else do we know about how police tracked them down? >> they used area schools and cross-referenced attendance records, and we were where the tragedy happened, and they were using k-9 police dogs going up and down to search for the suspects, but there were no

eyewitnesses. people did hear the shots. this is bittersweet in a sense for the family. i spoke to the father yesterday after the arrest. in fact, i was the one to tell him the name of one of the older suspects, and he didn't have a tv and he knew the arrest were coming but didn't know who they were, and he said i am hanging in here, and it's bittersweet for him, sweet because they have an arrest, but bitter because without the 13-month-old, they will miss him and he was just starting to form his personality, and this is how the community feels for the family, they are just devastated. >> the two suspects of course innocent until proven guilty. did they have the murder weapon? >> reporter: no, they don't have the murder weapon or a clear

it's 30 minutes past the hour. welcome back and good morning. i am christine romans. >> i am victor blackwell. first up, a bizarre story. philadelphia police say this retired wine maker from france posed as a pilot and walked into the cockpit of a flight as passengers were boarding. he had a badge and tried at least to buckle into a seat behind the real pilots. officers say the man was upset after his request to upgrade his seat was turned down. they say the man was not drunk but it appeared he had been drinking. >> bizarre story. investigators are trying to figure out if the dead ex-con linked to the murder of the

police chief. he was a former member of the white supremest prison gang. they say the probe is investigative work. an airport flight display board collapses killing a 10-year-old boy and critically injuring his mother. it happened in alabama. wiat reports the board fell on the boy, his mom and the three siblings as the father was check into the flight. injuries to the other kids are not known as this point. the post office plans to stop delivering letters on saturday, and this plan is hitting a snag. there was a statement in a legal opinion that said it must make the delivering for six days. it will still deliver packages

and it says it does not expect a legal fight. and president obama will be heading home in a few hours. he made stops in israel, and the west bank and jordon. he called on israel to re-start direct talks with the palestinians. on tuesday the supreme court will hear arguments on california's controversy prop 8. this is the ban on gay marriage. voters approved. some of the most influential voices in california understandably are hollywood stars and many have come out in favor of same-sex marriage. >> what makes the nation great is our freedoms and the idea of equality. >> we must demand full equality for all. eufrplt it's about time the supreme court weighed in on it and hopefully they will come down in favor of it. >> absolutely will be done this week. i can't imagine anything else.

imagined to escape, and so was she looking at the photos and put together that story in her head. if they thought the interrogation tapes for year, and if they thought it was that significa significant, they could have produced them. if they say the expert for battered women hits home runs, maybe they decide, hey, we will counteract and try to get this in and show her behaving in an erratic manner. she stands on her head. she sings. she does a back end, a very arottic yoga back bend. maybe they will try to introduce evidence that she was trivializing the whole thing.
